I took Paxil and alcohol, it was something else. Firstly, you get used to alcohol really quickly when on antidepressants. You drink and don't get drunk, the intoxication is slower and the buzz is much stronger, then you do mad things. I could go out at night looking for a late-night shop for a top-up, it was impossible to stop. A whole summer went by like that, in the morning my head hardly hurts, there's no such strong hangover, and in the evening you want to drink again, how I got off that - it's a miracle. I had to stop taking Paxil to get off the alcohol dependency. I'm scared to remember that time now.

I'm on amitriptyline, often indulge in beer and wash down the tablets (plus Quetiapine) – everything's fine, but the rebound will be obvious, of course, given time (depression symptoms return).
And when I was on Zoloft, the combination of beer and pills was just amazing! I don't recommend it, but there doesn't seem to be anything terrible either ;))))
