17 - not true. I've always had elevated prolactin. I don't remember the exact number, but I recall the doctor's eyes and being told that with such prolactin levels, getting pregnant is impossible. Twice, with exactly that prolactin level, I got pregnant on the first try :) The only issue I had was an enormous abundance of milk after childbirth. Before pregnancy, my breasts barely hinted at a size 2, yet I have so much milk that I could feed two babies and still have to pour out the excess. It's all due to prolactin. This runs in our family on the maternal side.
