Girls who started smoking while breastfeeding, have you noticed any changes in your baby's behavior? We're one month old, I've been smoking 2 cigarettes a day for a week now - after morning and evening feedings. In the evening the baby has trouble falling asleep and gets fussy, I'm wondering if it's related. Oh I'm even scared of your angry comments..
Don't fear our harsh comments, fear your child's health problems! We're all fine, but you'll face major troubles, not for a year but for several years, only you'll find out later. Good luck!

I have a friend who smokes. When she was breastfeeding, her husband tried her milk. He said it was terribly bitter and felt sorry for the child having to consume that. We are what we eat.
Now her child is already a teenager, an allergy sufferer with kidney and liver problems. From smoking? 🤷🤷🤷
I can confidently say yes. If she hadn't smoked, the child might still have been sick, but not as severely.
Do you really love cigarettes more than your own child? Are you willing to take that risk based on forum advice? Condemn them to work just to afford medication?

I just don't understand smokers, both women and men—of course, it's their personal business and their choice! But a pregnant woman or one breastfeeding with a cigarette—that's just the lowest of the low! You're an adult, can't you manage to go without that filth for a while for the sake of your own baby? What more is there to say...

Why just smoke? You should also drink and do drugs. Breastfeeding builds a child's immunity and is their only protection from the environment, and you're poisoning it.

I thought two cigarettes a day wouldn't be a big deal, just for stress... That's how I calmed myself. You're absolutely right, and after hearing your words, I don't even feel like smoking anymore... I'll try to never touch them again...

I didn't smoke or drink alcohol. My husband is allergic (they diagnosed him with asthma as a child, but it went away with age). The kids inherited all his ailments, I'm sure smoking has nothing to do with it.

I also started smoking after the baby was born (((( For me, it's a way to relieve stress ((( I can't handle the constant screaming and crying... I go out to the balcony, have a smoke, stand there for about 3 minutes, and somehow it gets a bit easier. But unfortunately, I don't smoke just 2 cigarettes; it's quite a lot ((( I haven't noticed any changes in the baby's behavior.

Why go into a question that doesn't concern you and spread your poison?) Or are you also smoking Tikhons and pretending to be the perfect mother?)

My mother smoked during pregnancy and I haven't had any health problems for 22 years. I have a child, I smoked before pregnancy but didn't smoke during or after.

My mom smoked before pregnancy since she was 20, during pregnancy (though half as much), and after she breastfed until 1.5 years and smoked as usual. Pregnancy was easy without complications, delivery was easy, the child is completely healthy. I'm already 30 years old, and I only get a cold once every 3 years, and even if I do get sick it's maximum 3 days. Never had any allergies to anything, and generally no health issues)) finished school with only one B, finishing my second higher education, three children.😉

Wow, there are so many mean women in the world!))) Calm down, author, and cut down on cigarettes to a minimum, for example, to 2-3 cigarettes a day! And smoke right AFTER feeding, so that there are at least 2-3 hours until the next feeding!

That's exactly why you don't notice any changes. The baby probably screams because you smoke. At the very least, the taste of the milk changes. Calm mom = calm baby. Stop being nervous and smoking will take a back seat

Oh my God. A baby can sleep well or poorly. It's a baby, after all. I smoke Iqos, and during pregnancy, I could also vape occasionally, have some wine. The baby was born healthy and still is; the doctors praise him. They think I follow diets and am a super mom overall. The main thing is not to stress or lose your temper, and then the child will be happy. He eats well and gains weight excellently. So, it's unlikely that smoking and alcohol (in normal doses) have any effect on the child's development. Unless you convince yourself otherwise, of course.

I smoked throughout my entire pregnancy, and even the morning before my C-section, I had a smoke before the surgery—my doctor allowed it, after all. The baby is fine; there were no complaints about him at the maternity hospital. We had check-ups at one month, and everything was good, all normal. I still smoke. But I chose formula feeding from birth because, among other reasons, I knew I wouldn't quit. Honestly, though, after I smoke, I wash my hands about ten times and brush my teeth before going near the little one. When I can't manage that (like when he's crying and I have to rush to him), I get really angry at myself for smoking and for him having to smell it on me... I would gladly quit, but I just can't, no matter what—I've tried before.
