I'll start by saying that yes, I sometimes become a hypochondriac. I've even managed to raise my temperature from imagined things. I've had all sorts of things because of this. I will definitely go to the hospital. Anyway, the gist is this. I noticed a mild pain on the left side under my ribs. It was there when I lay down and when I got up. It wasn't strong, but it was uncomfortable. I started thinking about what it could be because I've had something similar before. As usual, I started looking up information online. I found a bunch of stomach-related illnesses. Everything was more or less okay until I imagined and thought, well, 'it definitely can't be colon cancer, I go to the bathroom normally.' The next day, constipation started. I've had it often since childhood, so usually oil or drops help. But not this time. In the morning, I went, but it was a small amount, like separate pieces. Then it continued with loose and small amounts. Anyway, nothing helps now, I just went again with fragmented portions or however you say it. Because I can't go normally since then, I have to strain. There's no severe pain. But, I came across a post about cancer and read that all the symptoms are of colon cancer. Please tell me in detail what the symptoms are? And is there pain on the left when exhaling or moving. Also, problems with periods and like the lower abdomen hurts too and they don't start By the way, I'm 20 years old, is colon cancer possible at that age? #health
Yeah, hypochondria and cancer phobia can really poison your life.

Seriously, author, you're just shooting in the dark. If your stomach hurts, you've already come up with something. They'll refer you for an endoscopy and most likely find the cause.

Well, there are already GI issues and rabbit pellet stools. I'll go to the doctor, but the appointment is only on Wednesday.

Colorectal cancer involves having bloody diarrhea. Unfortunately, my relative is suffering from it.
It's unlikely you have cancer; it's rare at 20 years old. Possibly IBS, considering your hypochondriac tendencies.
Completely agree, take the probiotic Nutrilite, it has B vitamins and folic acid. It'll regulate your digestive system and slightly calm your anxiety.

Twenty years old and colorectal cancer—highly unlikely! Typically, colon cancer symptoms don't start with pain. Pain usually occurs at later stages. It's possible that either the stomach or the descending colon is hurting. In the lower left, it could be the sigmoid colon (these are all parts of the large intestine). Or it could simply be cramps due to constipation. Try improving your diet and increasing physical activity to see what happens. Include more plant-based fiber and water in your diet. It's possible you're not drinking enough—this is also one of the causes of constipation. Or you might even have congenital dolichosigma (an elongated sigmoid colon)—this condition often leads to lifelong constipation.

Regarding probiotics—I wouldn't recommend them to you right now, for the simple reason that they could make your stool even more constipated! It's better to drink one-day-old kefir—it has a laxative effect (though it's hard to find in stores). Or, try eating kiwis, 3-4 at a time after your main meal. Kiwis have a very gentle laxative effect. I've relied on them myself.

Thanks. I went to the doctor yesterday, they said it might be a GI issue. As for the pain, well, they referred me for an endoscopy.

Oh, intestinal upset.

I hope the doctors find the cause of your discomfort soon! The main thing is not to stress—that also affects your health. With colorectal cancer, one of the first symptoms before pain is blood in the stool, or passing blood separately. Although, again, blood in the stool can also come from simple colitis, but then there would be mucus too. Thankfully, you don't have anything like that! Get well soon and don't scare yourself like that again! 😊

Diarrhea with blood is also a symptom of ulcerative colitis, not just cancer.
