Blood in stool - …

Blood in stool - scary((

The internet says it's a symptom of serious illnesses. I'm afraid to go to the doctor. Maybe you can reassure me, maybe someone has had something similar and it didn't turn out to be a scary diagnosis? I'll say right away, it's unlikely to be hemorrhoids or fissures(

"Let me say right away, it's unlikely to be hemorrhoids or fissures."

Are you a doctor??

I'm afraid to go to the doctor.

Yes, of course, it's better to sit at home and tremble, open threads to be reassured. Keep sitting then.

This could be a symptom of cancer, or it could be due to a severe lack of basic movement (read: a sedentary lifestyle), consuming fluids (water, tea, etc.) in very small amounts, insufficient for the body. These sites probably also mention that the body needs at least 1.5 liters of water a day, preferably 2. And hemorrhoids aren't ruled out.

If after a bowel movement, blood doesn't flow in a stream but just smears on the paper, the likelihood of a "terrible disease" is much lower than if the blood were flowing like from a cut. So, go to the doctor, in any case. Or keep sitting and trembling. The master is the boss, as they say.

So, what color is the blood—bright red? Is there a lot of it, mixed with the stool or just smeared on the surface? Is there mucus in the stool? What color and consistency is the stool itself? Do you have any abdominal pain? How old are you, and have you ever had any digestive system issues? By the way, diagnoses aren’t made over the internet—I’m telling you this as a doctor.

If it's not hemorrhoids or fissures (and why not, by the way?), then it means you have bleeding in the intestines. If the blood is red, it means it hasn't been digested in the stomach. In any case, you need to see a doctor—don't worry, it's their job, there's nothing to be embarrassed about.

Actually, I read the opposite—that bright red blood in stool is a symptom of less serious conditions; black is worse, indicating bleeding in the small intestine. It could also be hemorrhoids, colitis, or a fissure.

Red refers to the lower intestines or rectum. But you should go see a doctor.

In the HIV thread, there's someone named Vinnie. Ask her. I recall she mentioned she had something like that.

Don't worry, girl. You're not the only one with this problem. It can be treated. The most important thing is to see a doctor without delay! URGENTLY! Good luck to you!

Hemorrhoids, I agree with post 7.

What does "blood in stool" mean? Is it a one-time occurrence or constant? If it's a single instance and, excuse the detail, the stool came out "dry," it's quite possible that she scraped something inside and nothing serious happened. This can happen if, for example, you haven't gone to the bathroom for a couple of days or if you're constipated.

Doctor, may I ask you something? Two months ago, my son had surgery for paraproctitis, and the day before yesterday, an opening appeared right on the suture, with all the signs of paraproctitis again. What is this? A medical error? After all, it's in the exact same spot where the fistula was excised... Could it be that the internal opening of the fistula wasn't properly sutured? Is a repeat surgery needed? We'll definitely go to a proctologist, but the more opinions I gather, the better. Thank you if you respond.

Author, can you send a photo? We can all determine what kind of bleeding you have. (If there are any other doctors here besides me)

My brother had the same thing when he was 2 years old. We got scared, called an ambulance, and he was urgently admitted to the infectious disease ward. But during the examination, it turned out to be CRANBERRIES that we had added to his porridge :)))) So, author, don’t panic ahead of time, and go see a doctor—there’s nothing shameful about it.

Yesterday, someone's internet glitches were being fixed, today it's blood from the ass, and people come to doctors at the last stage of cancer and accuse them of inaction.

We're surrounded by nothing but idiots!

Anyway, if it's only happened once or twice, it's easier to just let it go.

Honey, I went through the same thing. At first there was blood, then there was no normal stool at all, just bloody diarrhea. I lost weight and couldn't go far from the bathroom. I was treated for a long time at the Proctology Institute. Go to a proctologist urgently! My condition was called ulcerative colitis (UC). I was on disability for two years, second group. It got better—then a year on the third group. Don’t delay—it won’t go away on its own.

A friend of mine (35 years old) had this as a sign of colon cancer. So go to the doctor quickly! At an early stage, it can be successfully treated!

Maybe when you were straining hard during a bowel movement, a small blood vessel burst inside—that can happen, so it might not be anything serious. But it's best to see a doctor just to be sure and put your mind at ease.
#24
It took a long time—no one could make the correct diagnosis. Later, it turned out to be paraproctitis. I ended up in intensive care with an infection. They had to remove a lot of tissue afterward. Go for an X-ray, tomography, or MRI. And see a normal, regularly practicing proctologist.

If I have the same thing, but I'm pregnant, and I often have a stabbing pain in the lower right abdomen where the appendix is, and I've gone to the doctor several times, but they only told me to take No-Spa and said it's nothing serious? Can anyone advise what to do?

Hello... How is the diagnosis made? Through a stool test? Or is there another way to check?... They found invisible blood in my stool... They called and said I need to talk to a doctor. I have to go there on Thursday... It's a long wait... I don't know what to think.

It happens to me quite often, but not always. After I go to the bathroom and wipe, I notice blood... bright red... I check the stool, and it seems fine... all brown... and I also often have mucus... Should I see a doctor just to be safe? And which one should I see?

Doctor, I have blood in my stool, even on the surface, and when I have a bowel movement, I can even hear the stream of blood hitting the toilet bowl. I'm not married, I'm 35 years old, and nothing extra has ever been in my rectum except my own stool. My stomach doesn't hurt, and I eat well. Could it be that I just have proctitis?

Doctor, if I have gastritis, for example, and I have to swallow a tube once a year, would the doctors notice if I had something serious, or is it just overexertion, as you say?

You're right to some extent, but if everyone with an itchy ass or a bitten tongue... goes to the hospital, then truly sick people will have to wait in line for a long time! Another reason is the lack of opportunity to see a doctor!

Sometimes you stumble upon an online discussion about a problem that affects many people on the planet and realize how useless all advice is except for "See a doctor." Yet doctors are not gods, and sometimes, the unprofessionalism of some of them makes you painfully scared... With them—it's scary, but without them—it's impossible...

I really feel for your mom, and the procedure where they brought her intestine out to the side is called a colostomy. I'm a doctor myself, but in a different specialty (ophthalmologist). And you absolutely must see a doctor!!! God forbid, you might have rectal cancer. You need to get a colonoscopy. If the cancer is in the lower sections, the blood is bright red; if it's in the upper sections, it's black and clotted. Early-stage cancer is much easier to treat!!!!! And I wish you and your mom happiness, health, and to live to be 200 years old! Get well soon!!!

Hello. Today I had a light brown stool with mucous blood, and bright red blood remained on the paper. All the water was bright red. Can you tell me what this is? I'm on the Protasov diet. Could it be from that?

Good evening.

This is a rather complicated situation. There is no proctologist in my city, so I had to consult a surgeon about this issue. He said the case is operable, but the doctor who performed the RRS says there's nothing serious and everything can be treated. Please advise on what to do in this situation.

Let me start by describing the problem:

In mid-October, I went fishing on a boat. The water was already cold, and I decided to sleep in the boat. I felt chilled from the back, as I slept on the bottom, only putting something under my head...

The next day, I went to the toilet (with difficulty) and noticed blood on the toilet paper. After that, I examined the stool and found a little blood at the end as well.

After that, I felt some discomfort in the anal area, something like a burning sensation...

Then I started observing my stool during bowel movements, and around the 8th of this month, again having difficulty going to the toilet, I noticed a barely visible, thin "streak" of blood, about 5-6 cm long, maybe as thin as a human hair.

After that, I went to see a doctor. Since we don't have a proctologist, I was referred to a surgeon. During a visual examination, he found hemorrhoids and started reassuring me that was the issue. I insisted on further procedures, as the symptom could be due to hemorrhoids or more serious conditions...

The doctor referred me for a sigmoidoscopy (RRS), and after the procedure, I was diagnosed with combined hemorrhoids, including internal hemorrhoids with erosion. Here is the result of the sigmoidoscopy: http://piccy.info/view3/3874658/168c7869a7c2341b11637e01ac03e8d9/1200/

The surgeon is recommending surgical intervention, but I would like to consult and find out if it's possible to manage without surgery.

After bowel movements, I experience discomfort and a slight burning sensation for about two minutes, then everything subsides and returns to normal.

I haven't noticed any other issues with my condition.

Please advise on what to do in this situation and how serious my case is. How quickly do I need to take action?

My current situation is that my mother is in the hospital after surgery and has some complications... I think I need 2-3 months to focus on my health, and I have that time available. Is there anything I can do in the meantime?

Thank you in advance for your response.

Best regards,
Igor

I'm 13 years old.

Today I went to the bathroom and had a bit of constipation. The water in the toilet had a reddish tint.

This seems to be the first time this has happened.

What is this? Help!
