Chronic pharyngitis

Chronic pharyngitis

I've constantly got something dripping in my throat, some kind of mucus has appeared that's impossible to spit out. The doctor looked at my throat and diagnosed chronic pharyngitis. And just prescribed daily gargling with chamomile. Supposedly this mucus will disappear. But nothing seems to be going away. Has anyone dealt with something similar? What should I do?

Purchase Lugol's solution from the pharmacy and apply it thoroughly to your throat.

Repeat this every other day for 10 applications. Additionally, use Protargol drops three times a day.

I used it when I had a sore throat!

By the way, it's now available in a spray form. Much more convenient than applying it with a cream.

5 - no, the one in the spray isn't suitable. I need the classic solution.

I had chronic pharyngitis for a long time. Imudon helped. Just one large pack. It has a very pleasant taste. Nothing else worked before that.

And how old are you, author? I'm 18 and I also have chronic pharyngitis for about half a year now((((((((( I treated it at first, but then I gave up on it, and I don't follow any diets.

I rinsed with chamomile, avoided spicy and salty foods, limited sweets and naturally gave up highly carbonated drinks, after which it only got much better... but the mucus still hasn't gone away((

In addition to rinsing for a month, I also underwent sessions with the Doctor TES 03 device. Every other day for 30 minutes. After the treatment, I felt better, but to consolidate the effect, I was advised to have a repeat course in four months.

The same issue, chronic pharyngitis. I've tried Imudon, Tantum Verde, all sorts of lozenges (like Adzhisept) – nothing helps. My husband even bought me an inhaler, so I brew chamomile and inhale the steam instead of gargling – that at least gives temporary relief! I'll have to try Lugol's solution, thanks for the advice! The most frustrating part is that I felt perfectly fine all winter. The last time I suffered this much with my throat was last spring, and here we go again... The company I work for moved to a new office, and the flare-up started; I think it's triggered by the air conditioning... Since being outside, despite the frost, I feel better after an hour or so.

I'm also suffering from pharyngitis. I've read it can be caused by tonsillitis. I constantly feel the need to clear my throat, and there's a terrible tickle in my throat. Especially before bed, sometimes it gets so bad I feel desperate and can't fall asleep! And I don't know how to treat it; the doctors don't really prescribe anything substantial. Just some lozenges to suck on and gargling... Maybe something more serious is needed???

I suffered from chronic pharyngitis for over 20 years and tried everything imaginable! The cure came unexpectedly: when my gums became inflamed, I started doing 10-minute salt rinses at night and after breakfast, taking 3-4 pinches of salt into my mouth and dissolving it with saliva. Then, after spitting out the resulting solution, I swallowed the remaining saltwater. On the fifth day, I noticed the disappearance of throat irritation, redness of the palate, coating on the tongue, morning nasal congestion, and itching in the ears. For prevention, I now rinse every other night. It's also advisable to minimize the consumption of spicy, cold, and hot foods, avoid getting chilled, and use water at 32-34°C for bathing.

Good afternoon! I've had constant mucus running down the back of my throat for about four months now. I occasionally gargle with oak bark and chamomile, which sometimes makes the mucus less intense. I visited an ENT specialist who diagnosed me with chronic pharyngitis. I followed their course of treatment with Tonsilgon tablets and Lugol's solution—it got better, but as soon as I stopped taking the tablets, it returned. So, I'm not sure what to try next for treatment. Perhaps someone has some suggestions?

I want to share my experience—I scoured all the forums myself and suffered for two months with chronic pharyngitis. Then I went to a gastroenterologist, had a gastroscopy, and they discovered reflux. After treatment, my throat got better. It's essential to find the root cause of the illness and address it, because I had tried everything to treat my throat, and nothing worked. Wishing everyone good health.

You know what helps me with pharyngitis? All of this! I especially recommend gargling with salt water (sea salt, by the way, not the water itself), and eat more hot food. I've also recently started using more modern medicine in some cases, mainly Grammidin, quality lozenges—with them, the results come in just a day, and then after about five days or a week, everything's fine again. It's just the thing.

Under no circumstances should you gargle with soda for pharyngitis. It dries out the mucous membrane even more and makes it worse. I have excruciating pain with this ailment. I immediately dissolve Trachisan to relieve the pain. The tablets contain an antiseptic, so the inflammation clears up quickly. So far, it's the only remedy that helps me.

Take fluconazole 150 mg, one tablet daily for 3 days. You will get rid of it.

The same problem, acute pharyngitis. The ENT specialist prescribed Hexoral and physiotherapy. Result - zero. I went to another doctor. He prescribed Miramistin, a throat spray, three times a day; to dissolve Septolete Total (must be Total) one tablet four times a day, and at night, you can spray your throat with Lugol's solution. Besides, I have crusts in my nose, and the doctor prescribed Bactroban nasal ointment. He also said that it's essential to humidify the air in the apartment during winter. I read about it and indeed, the humidity in the apartment greatly affects our health, our mucous membranes. Started the treatment and felt relief.

I agree that soda dries out the throat. When I had laryngitis, I gargled with chamomile tea and sucked on Isla-Moos pastilles. The ENT specialist prescribed them to relieve inflammation and discomfort in my throat. It helped me.

For over six months, I've been suffering from chronic pharyngitis, with pain on the right side of my throat and a feeling of a lump in my throat. I've tried everything, had all the tests done, and visited all the doctors, but they say everything is fine and I just need to wait for it to go away on its own. Yet the pain persists, and I'm extremely tired. I don't know what else to do; please advise.

Author, have you checked your nose? Mucus from there can run down your throat. As for the pharyngitis itself, I cured it with Trachisan tablets. I completed the course of treatment.

Good evening. I also have acute pharyngitis and am taking Trachisan and getting injections 😞 But I have a temperature of 37; how long will this last?
My doctor said that physiotherapy cannot be done when there is inflammation....
Could you please suggest something for the cold??

If I feel a sore throat coming on, I gargle every hour with sage or eucalyptus infusion. Every single hour. And I also suck on Trachisan lozenges several times a day; it helps me a lot. The mucus clears up and my throat doesn't hurt.

Good evening! Please respond if anyone else is experiencing the same issue as me. I've been diagnosed with chronic pharyngitis, but the worst part is that something is also happening with my tongue. It feels like my tongue is falling back, and my swallowing reflex disappears. Sometimes it seems like I can't control my tongue. Could this be related to chronic pharyngitis?

Good day to all. I have been suffering from pharyngitis for a long time. In spring and autumn, the main issue during flare-ups is the dried-out mucous membrane, which leads to constant inflammation. I don't go to doctors because you don't learn anything new from them. I treat it simply... to relieve acute inflammation, I take Indomethacin—the pain, swelling, and inflammation go away within a day. To restore the mucous membrane's nutrition, I use Moreal spray—no soda or iodine-containing preparations, as eucalyptus and sage also dry out the mucous membrane; calendula is better. I'll be glad if this helps anyone.

I have chronic pharyngitis. There are many things I can't eat, my throat is hoarse, I have bouts of coughing, and heavy breathing. Can you advise what to do and what's best to drink for the cough to ease my breathing, and what's best to gargle with?
Is it possible to cure it?

I began my search with vasomotor rhinitis – three years of nasal congestion in one nostril without a runny nose, with the mucous membrane itself swelling. Due to improper breathing, I have constant fatigue. No fever. If I lie on my side, the blocked side is always the lower one. My nose clears up during exercise or running, but only for the duration of the activity. I've discovered that this is often due to throat issues. And indeed, my throat occasionally feels slightly scratchy in the mornings and sometimes I cough a bit during the day. Upon closer inspection of my tonsils – there it is: they are enlarged and have white specks – plugs, meaning the tonsil crypts are completely blocked. Plus, I can see white plaque further behind the tonsils, deep in the throat. Essentially, it seems this is pharyngitis.

Has anyone managed to overcome such a combination? Thank you.

Hello! Have you managed to cure your pharyngitis? If so, please let me know what you used, as I also have a lump in my throat and a cough that hasn't gone away for six months. I've been diagnosed with both asthma and thyroid issues, but I've had pharyngitis since childhood.

Before planning for pregnancy, I decided to see all the doctors. It turned out that I needed laparoscopic surgery for gynecological issues (ovarian cysts, endometriosis, uterine fibroids). The recovery was long, and I had to take strong medications to consolidate the results, which caused emotional side effects that made life unbearable. Finally, when they said we could try, we found out that my AMH was 0.51, and my husband's sperm count was 4%... My husband underwent treatment, and on just the second month of trying, we succeeded!!! It happened when we made an effort every single day throughout the month. It was my first pregnancy, and at 31, I gave birth easily to a healthy baby. I am a religious person, and of course, we prayed a lot for a child... You must believe that it will work out for you!!! Low AMH is not an indicator!!! If there are follicles on the ultrasound and normal progesterone and prolactin levels, then AMH isn't even considered. That's what my doctor told me after the laparoscopy.

Hello. I have problems in my throat and nasopharynx. These issues have been ongoing since 28 September 2017, and today is 24 October. The problems are as follows: 1) saliva gets stuck in the area below the Adam's apple, causing me to swallow several times; 2) my entire throat dries out at night; 3) a constant feeling that my throat has become abnormal, with pressure on the area that reflexively triggers vomiting; 4) occasional pressure in the nasopharynx that spreads into the nose, particularly the upper nasal cavity, and into the upper oral cavity; 5) sometimes pressure from the throat extends to the ears, leading to tinnitus.

All blood tests are fine; the FibroLaryngoScopy conclusion is chronic laryngitis; the ultrasound shows a normal total volume of 15 cm.

I am taking Acyclovir tablets and "Immunal."

So far, there have been no improvements in my health.

What else would you recommend I do?

Indeed, the most unpleasant aspect of this ailment is precisely the sore throat. When I last had pharyngitis, I went to the doctor, and she prescribed effective Isla-Mint lozenges. They helped relieve the discomfort almost immediately. Generally, if you start taking them as soon as the throat begins to feel scratchy, the illness won't even take hold.

It is possible to get rid of pharyngitis.
Treatment:
1. Quit smoking and drinking alcohol. Forever!!!
2. Avoid eating spicy and salty foods.
3. Sodas and any carbonated drinks are off the table.
4. Undergo a gastroscopy; if acid is detected, consult a gastroenterologist.
5. Take Amoxiclav antibiotic, 3 tablets a day for 10 days. Use Ingalipt spray 4 times a day for 7 days. Gargle with chlorhexidine 4 times a day for 7 days.
6. From day 8: Tonsilgon dragee, 2 tablets 6 times a day for 7 days. Lugol spray 4 times a day for 7 days. Gargle with Rotocan—one teaspoon of Rotocan and one tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide in a glass of water—4 times a day for 7 days.
7. From day 15: Lymphomyosot, 15 drops on an empty stomach 3 times a day for one month. Lordestin, 1 tablet at night for 7 days. Collargol solution for throat lubrication. If unavailable, use Lugol's solution as an alternative, though less effective, once a day. Yox spray twice a day for 7 days. Lysobact 4 times a day for 7 days. For ear inflammation, Candibiotic drops 3 times a day for 7 days. For the nose, use Polydexa similarly.

That's if the pharyngitis is bacterial, but if it's viral (EBV), is there any treatment? Antibiotics and gargles don't work at all there.

Collargol solution
should work on all types of pharyngitis in theory. Silver treatment is an old proven method. I myself have non-bacterial pharyngitis. It doesn't completely fix it but removes most of the discomfort.

Only antibiotics will help with pharyngitis. Gargles and lozenges are as useful as a poultice to a dead man. Take Amoxiclav along with throat irrigations.

Hello. I've been diagnosed with chronic pharyngitis and prescribed tonsil irrigation.
The thing is, I don't have and never had a fever, soreness, or cough. My throat hurts a bit if I eat something cold, and even then not always. And it feels like something is in the way when I swallow. Is this chronic pharyngitis?
