Bleeding in the middle …

Bleeding in the middle of my cycle

Girls, I've got this problem. Unexpectedly on day 18 of my cycle I suddenly got my period, though not very heavy. At night I went to the toilet half-asleep and didn't even understand what it was. Blood on my underwear. Had a shower. Everything was fine all night. Towards morning there was blood again. Then again in the morning. Now there's a bit of blood again. I can't understand what this is. I was at the doctor's on Monday, they measured my follicle. Everything was normal. And then these strange and unplanned discharges. I won't be able to reach my doctor until Monday. Girls, has anyone experienced this? I just don't know what to think.

I had that during ovulation!

The same thing happened a couple of months ago during ovulation. The doctor said that for some people, it's normal. He also suggested getting checked for pregnancy in two weeks, as this pattern could occur when the embryo implants in the uterus, especially if you've had unprotected sex in the week before, which is quite possible.

Oh girls, my period has started in full swing. How could this happen? Just on Monday, ovulation was only just approaching, and by Saturday, it's already my period?! I can only get in touch with the doctor on Monday, I don't know what to think.

Of course, with the doctor.

Author, I had a significant leak too, and I also thought it was my period; perhaps you've made a mistake as well, or maybe there's been some glitch, possibly you were taking some medication or under stress—there are plenty of reasons, don't panic.

The stress was immense, and the sex was unprotected. But now it's leaking so much that if there were a pregnancy, it would probably wash everything away. :( Waiting for Monday.

Was it a pregnancy for you, or did ovulation just occur so unexpectedly?
Икра

That's just the point. There was no pregnancy, and there couldn't have been. It was ovulation, but the doctor didn't know whether it could be or not. He says if there was intercourse, get checked for pregnancy in two weeks, as the fertilised egg might be implanting in the uterus and there could be bleeding—it's just one possibility. It might never have been that for you, but if it was just light spotting, I had the same thing. Everything's been normal for half a year now; mine happened in spring, maybe it was some kind of glitch.

Yes, probably a glitch. It's not about spotting anymore, but actual periods. I just can't figure out how it happened that from ovulation to menstruation, it didn't even take five days?! Waiting for tomorrow. Thanks, Ikra, for the chat!

Girls, tell me, I had a light spotting for three days in the middle of my cycle and then it stopped, what could this be? And two months ago, I had my period twice in one month. I was recently treated for chlamydia; could this be a result of the treatment? It's been a month now since I took the last pill.

This indicates ovulation. But there isn't much blood. And my doctor told me - it's all normal, this happens to some women.

My friend had that regularly, and then she couldn't get pregnant. She went to the doctor, they found a polyp and cleared it out.

I'm in a similar situation. My cycle is consistently 28 days. On the 17th day of the cycle, bleeding started. Bright red blood. It lasted almost 4 days. Not as heavy as a period. Moreover, the bleeding was painless, and my breasts didn't hurt. But during my periods, I'm always doubled over in pain. I don't know what to think or when to expect my next period...

So, is everything alright now? Did you go to the doctor? I've got the same thing... but I also had unprotected sex. Although I took Postinor the next morning. Whether it's because of the pill, or because of stress... or because of ovulation. What a mess...

I've been experiencing the same thing for the past six months. I've recently had everything checked on purpose (ultrasound, tests) and there's nothing! The doctor also said it's most likely ovulation and that it happens to some women... It's a bit bothersome, causes some inconvenience... but what can you do? Maybe it's time to get pregnant?

Guest, that's because of the Postinor, I had the same thing, I have a very good doctor, she said that if this happens after taking Postinor, it's most likely that conception occurred, but it's better not to overthink it!))) Don't worry, everything will be fine!

This is the first time I've experienced this issue – bleeding after my period, and I had unprotected sex the day before it started... and now it's been spotting for about two weeks ((((( My breasts are swollen like they usually are before my period...

And when can I expect my next normal period??? I suddenly started bleeding on the 15th day of my cycle (cycle is 28-30 days) and it's been bleeding for the third day now((( The blood is red, not too much but not too little—moderate, and not very thick; during my periods, it's usually thicker and more saturated. On the second day, there was a stretchy discharge with clear fluid mixed in (normally, I have clear discharge like egg white during ovulation, but this was right along with the blood—first time this has happened). Nothing hurts, no pulling sensations anywhere... What's wrong with me?

How much blood can there be if a follicle bursts during ovulation? I don't think there could be that much, just some spotting at most, but to bleed for three days...((

If unprotected sex occurred right at ovulation and there was slight bleeding.

I had surgery on my fallopian tubes. This situation occurred a couple of times before the surgery, then it stopped for a while, and now it's happening again. It's the fourth cycle in a row, and each time it's getting heavier :-( I've heard stories from doctors about ovulation and active sex before, repeatedly. I can't believe it—could it be that my ovulation is getting more intense each time, and the sex more vigorous... judging by the amount of blood :-( I'm not taking hormones. I've had ultrasounds multiple times—they found nothing. It's unsettling.

Could anyone please advise who has consulted a gynaecologist with such symptoms and what procedures/tests were carried out besides the examination?

I used to ovulate maybe once a year or even less frequently, and everything was fine. Now it's the fifth day of bleeding, which has become a bit heavier but still doesn't even reach the level of light periods. I can't get to a doctor anytime soon – everything is fully booked((( If there aren't many additional procedures needed, I'll go to a more expensive clinic just to avoid waiting a week for my appointment.

Hello everyone! I'm 20 years old and still a virgin. My boyfriend and I got close, but both of us understood it wasn't allowed; we need to wait until marriage. That was a month ago (the closeness). Just now, I noticed some discharge with blood. The blood was like a thin thread, and that's it. I got really scared. I looked it up online, and they mentioned something about ovulation and such. So, what is this? And what could be the cause? By the way, my stomach hurts too((( Thanks in advance!

Damn, it's day 16 of my regular 28-day cycle, and I went to the toilet – there was blood with clear mucus on the toilet paper (clear like during ovulation). And quite a bit of blood too, not like during ovulation (usually just a tiny drop then). My heart sank... We're trying to conceive, I finished treatment for ureaplasma a month and a half ago, my husband is clear, and now this – blood! I'm DEFINITELY going to the gynaecologist tomorrow or the day after!

Hello, girls! Could you please advise? I had cervical radiofrequency coagulation on January 30th. On February 14th, I started having spotting, like the last days of a period. It's been like this for a week now. I can't book an appointment with a doctor; everyone is on sick leave. Does anyone know? My period was supposed to start on February 24th. I had something similar back in September, but then the doctor said it was just ovulation, and it only lasted 3 days. Then my regular period came. But now it's been a whole week!! Help!

Bleeding in the middle of the cycle may be due to hormonal dysfunction.
Алина

Hormonal contraceptives are birth control methods that work by hormonally suppressing ovulation. In their modern forms, these can include pills (oral contraceptives), patches, injections, vaginal rings, and even intrauterine devices with hormones (such as Mirena). Regardless of how long a woman has been using hormonal contraceptives, she will eventually discontinue them at some point—whether due to pregnancy, a planned cessation of hormone use, or other reasons. So, what might happen in a woman's body when she stops using hormonal contraceptives?

Hi girls! Starting from day 13 of my cycle, I've been spotting (it began with light staining, then with mucus, but only brownish-red, but by evening it looked more like actual blood). If it were heavy, I'd think it was bleeding. But could it actually be bleeding? Oh my goodness, everything was fine before. I go for ultrasounds every month (except for the last two cycles), and I've had my phase 1 and 2 hormones checked—everything's normal, and I had a hysteroscopy in November 2012. Everything was fine then. After that, the endometrium built up, and all was well. For the last 5 years after the laparoscopy, it's been regular every month. But now, I really don't know what to think. Today is day 15 of my cycle, and there's still some spotting. My cycle is 28 days. I took a pregnancy test at the end of my last cycle—it was negative. I'm tracking my basal temperature: it was 36.7 today, usually around 36.5 on average, and only after drinking alcohol did it reach 37.0. Things seem a bit slow in the discussions here...

Hello, girls! I'm facing a similar issue and don't want to panic, but rather understand what's going on, since, as you know, you can't just snap your fingers and see a doctor. For the second cycle in a row, this nonsense has been happening: spotting for the first 8 days, then normal bleeding for 9 days (I even had to take a haemostatic drug), followed by a couple of days of spotting after a 3-day break. This cycle is even "more interesting": 3 days of spotting, then 4 days of reddish-brown discharge, 2 days of spotting, 5 days of bright red blood, a 6-day break, and now for the second day, bright red blood again with small clots. The day before, there were a few drops of brownish spotting and a pulling sensation in the lower abdomen. By morning, it turned into blood, mainly when urinating. No pain, no bloating, no breast tenderness like I used to have. However, for the past week or so, my digestion has been bothering me. My basal body temperature is around 36.6–36.9. According to my charts, I haven't ovulated in a long time. The only thing is that these last two cycles coincided with two courses of acupuncture. It seems everything has gone completely haywire...((( It's unlikely that ovulation could occur with such bleeding. What am I supposed to think? My cycles have always been irregular, but this is just too much, in my opinion.((((

I'm experiencing mid-cycle bleeding, and the doctor said it's normal and due to ovulation.

I'm taking an ovulation test, and it's negative. It's around day 13 now, and my cycle is approximately 28-30 days, although the last one was 34.

I have the same story, it's been 3 cycles in a row now... I went to the doctor, and she suspected I might have endometriosis because of the pain. She referred me for an ultrasound, saying it's necessary to have one before and after my period for comparison, then come back for a follow-up. At the first ultrasound, they found that I have a follicular cyst. I haven't had the second ultrasound yet, but I've started having heavy red discharge again on the 13th day of my cycle. I'm planning to go for the ultrasound and appointment in the coming days.

Good day to all! Everyone's asking questions here, questions... But where are the answers?! Everyone's planning to see a doctor, but what happens afterwards? At least write about how your visit went. My issue is similar to the author's - on the 17th day of my cycle, I started having spotting at night, then in the morning there was blood, and then - nothing (during the day, not a trace). The next night, it all repeated. And the main thing is, there's no pain at all. Now it's the third night and morning like this - WHAT IS THIS? Of course, I need to see a doctor, but I can't at the moment (due to work). Girls, any advice!

I'll share my story. On days 17-20 of my cycle (which varies between 36-42 days), it starts as dark spotting, then turns into light but still bright red bleeding, sometimes with clots. This sometimes happens for several cycles in a row, then there's a break of 2-3 cycles, sometimes even half a year... I've been struggling with this issue for about 5 years now. It started after an unsuccessful pregnancy. I've sought treatment everywhere and tried everything. Many diagnoses were suggested, but ultimately nothing was confirmed - ultrasounds and scrapings all came back normal. We moved on to hormones... They diagnosed me with hyperprolactinaemia, saying that prolactin was blocking something, everything goes haywire, and instead of ovulation, menstruation begins, something like that. They immediately told me it's incurable. The only solution is to take hormones, contraceptives. So I started. I take them for 2-3 months, everything's good, periods are on a strict schedule, perfect! But as soon as I stop, it starts again either immediately or after some time. I had a pregnancy recently; we managed to catch a clear period and there was ovulation, but apparently, it wasn't the right time...

In short, get your hormones checked; such nonsense is usually caused by them, or sometimes the presence of STIs can be the culprit too! Consult doctors! Wishing everyone good luck!

Natasha, I've also been dealing with this for 10 years now, and they can't diagnose me. I've been bleeding since I was 13 and now I'm 24, sometimes it turns into periods. My temperature doesn't rise. I've been to 5 hospitals, had tests for TSH, T3, T4, FSH, LH, cortisol, prolactin, testosterone, estradiol, TPO, etc. I've had thyroid ultrasounds, been scraped three times under a hysteroscope, had my head examined - the sella turcica. They checked my visual fields, I've done all the biochemistry tests and swabs, blood tests for all infections, and they find nothing in my tests. I can't get pregnant at all, I'm constantly bleeding, I've been to 5 hospitals and the doctors just shrug. Hair has started growing on my chin and in the bikini area excessively. I'm feeling extremely desperate, maybe someone knows what's wrong with me.

Very similar to endometriosis (if the discharge is brownish and pasty), an ultrasound will show it.

Good afternoon, my cycle is approximately 33 days, but the last cycle was 28 days, and in this cycle, on the evening of day 14 and then again on the morning of day 15, there were drops of blood. What could this be related to?

Good afternoon, could you help me, please? I had six days left until my period, and suddenly, by evening, it started with spotting, then in the morning, when I got up, it poured heavily like from a bucket (not a very normal colour). Afterwards, the usual period pains began, and the blood started to drip moderately with a normal colour!! Could this be my period?!!!!

Good afternoon, everyone! I had a situation where we tried to get pregnant for two years with no success, and then things got even worse. A week before my period, there would be spotting, then my period would last for 10 days, followed by another week of spotting afterward—leaving only a week's break in between. I couldn't live normally. Over three months, I visited seven doctors, not counting tests, and you wouldn't believe it—everything was normal, and they couldn't say anything. I decided to take matters into my own hands, and after the New Year, starting right on January 2nd, I began eating properly and exercising at home (jump rope, crunches, and leg lifts) and started counting calories. In a month, I lost 8 kg; at 170 cm tall, I weighed 73 kg, and now I'm 65 kg. I stopped eating sweets and anything processed, got hooked on fish (specifically, pink salmon)... and the result is this: since December, my periods have been like clockwork, exactly every 28 days, lasting 4 days... my nails have started growing stronger, my hair has become thicker... still no pregnancy, as we found an issue with my husband, and we're treating it...

The same thing happened to me. On the 14th day of my cycle, I started spotting, and then it poured like a period, only the blood was bright red, not dark. I went to the doctor, and she reassured me, saying a follicle ruptured during ovulation, everything in the ovaries is fine, but I need to have an ultrasound on the 7th day. She didn't specify how to wait for the next period—whether it's in 10 days or the usual 28. I have an appointment on Friday; I'll write back then.

I also had some spotting for a couple of days around the 15th-16th day of my cycle. I suspect it was either ovulation or the implantation of the fertilized egg, as I found out a month later that I was pregnant. We're expecting a little one :)

Girls, could you advise me on what to do?
My period ended a week and a half ago, yesterday I started having some pink discharge, and now suddenly a bit of blood came out. I recently had unprotected sex. How should I interpret this? Should I consider it as a sign of pregnancy? Is it something to worry about?
Thanks in advance.

Good afternoon. I've been married for two years now, and we're planning and very much want to have children, so intercourse is always unprotected. Both my husband and I are in good health. In the middle of my cycle, on the day of ovulation, during intercourse, bright red blood suddenly appeared, with no pain or any uncomfortable sensations whatsoever. My cycle has always been regular as far as I can remember. I don't have any erosion. Could you please tell me what this might be? Has anyone else experienced something similar? This is the first time it's happened to me, and honestly, it's quite frightening. I've read all sorts of things online and don't know what to think.
