Good afternoon. If there are any medical professionals among the respected forum members, or (God forbid) anyone who has somehow encountered this, could you please tell me what symptoms occur with throat cancer? I really need to know, I'm worried about a loved one.(((
My friend's father had throat cancer. He went to the doctor, and they told him it was tonsillitis... they kept saying that for about 8 months... his throat just hurt like with tonsillitis. After 8 months, when the metastases had already spread, they diagnosed it... They removed his throat, but it didn't help. He died... It's such a pity... and it makes me so angry at those doctors who prescribed medicine for tonsillitis!

Oh, come on, doctors again... Throat cancer is one of the most difficult cancers to diagnose. The tumor can be the size of a pinhead, practically invisible—and yet metastases are already all over the body :(

And to not be afraid, you should go to the doctors—there are good ones too.
My father had throat cancer... It presents like a sore throat. But a good oncologist can see it all... though only when the tumor is already visible :(

My mom's friend died of throat cancer. With metastases. Mom said that even narcotics didn't help her afterward, constant, unrelenting pain. When she was buried, she weighed 36 kg. At 41 years old. Terrifying.

The symptoms he described were: a sore throat that lasted a very long time. They examined him repeatedly and eventually found something. He was lucky to get a good oncologist who removed what needed to be taken out, successfully.
A terrible illness. My acquaintances buried their son two weeks ago. He had that diagnosis. The boy was 25 years old. The diagnosis was made quickly, and the treatment was going normally. But after 2 years, a new wave began :(((((((((((

How, interesting, can you cut a throat? And do you have something to do it with?

But I have pain (aching) in the cartilage where the Adam's apple is on the right. ENTs aren't finding anything. They say it's ganglionitis. But I feel really bad, weak, my legs and arms ache... Could it be more serious????

I've had these white spots on my throat for a while now, but it's definitely not strep throat—my throat doesn't hurt. The spots are swollen and sometimes fall off on their own. Sometimes they're not there at all. What could this be?

I read your post, I would like to know what you can say regarding treatment? My mother is in the hospital with throat cancer.

My grandfather died from this in '91. The illness lasted only 5 months... They never told him the diagnosis, not even when he was admitted to the hospital. The family was told just a month before his death. They said everything was already visible when he first came to the hospital complaining of a scratchy throat and pain when swallowing, that surgery was pointless, there were already metastases in the liver... I don't know what to think about it. Maybe 20 years ago there was no possibility of a cure, and they were just pretending to treat something to avoid traumatizing the person and their loved ones... My mom says grandpa was an absolutely healthy person, and then he burned out so quickly, at only 61 years old!

I recently started experiencing sharp pain in the lymph nodes in my neck, and the pain is unbearable. At first, it was only on the left side, but then it started hurting on both sides. I can't even move my tongue, it hurts, and it's painful to talk too... I'm scared.

Go to the doctor, you just need to get the tests done quickly. If there is some kind of tumor, do a biopsy. If the doctor didn't prescribe it, look for places where they do it for a fee. My mom died of throat cancer, all because the doctors are SCUM. They couldn't find it, then when it was completely advanced, they started taking tests, everything took a very long time, and we were too late.

Recently, I've started feeling a scratchy throat, developed a runny nose and a cough (but not often, very rarely). And on the left side near a tooth, a small red spot has appeared on the gum. I swallow normally, can move my tongue, and my jaw as well—there's no throat pain. Is this throat cancer!?
My throat constantly hurts and I have choking attacks. I'm scared that I won't be able to breathe at all... What is this?

Tell me what I might have!!! A week ago, I went to the doctor, and he diagnosed me with acute pharyngitis, prescribed antibiotics, but my throat is still red. Swallowing saliva doesn’t hurt, but I feel it when swallowing my Adam’s apple))) I haven’t had a fever, my tonsils are swollen, no wheezing, and there are some whitish spots (he says it’s a burn).

Hey guys, I'm reading your posts... and I'm thinking I need to run to the doctor urgently)), I also have pain when swallowing, a hoarse voice, etc., basically all the symptoms are there, I don't drink, don't smoke), have two kids, happily married... and that makes it even scarier and, to put it mildly, frightening)) I want to live!!!! Damn, so many unrealized plans!! Stop writing about who died when, it's better to leave each other useful information, like the address of the clinic where you were treated, the doctor's last name, the phone numbers of the institution where the treatment took place, etc.
My girlfriend, who is 16 years old, seems to have throat cancer((((( Does anyone know how to cure it?

Last year, students from our institute raised money for the treatment of a girl (a first-year student) who had throat cancer. This summer, I happened to meet the girl by chance. It turned out it was her. I had heard about her illness in passing but thought she had recovered. And today, they announced at the institute that we need to raise money again for her treatment. I'm really curious about what treatment method is being used and whether there's any chance at all?

Yesterday we found out that my father has throat cancer. The symptoms we noticed appeared a week ago—his throat doesn't hurt, but when he eats hot food, it feels like something is in the way. There was phlegm with blood, and his throat is all white, similar to purulent tonsillitis, but without fever or sore throat—only pain radiating to the jaw. We went to an ENT specialist, and it turned out to be stage 2 cancer.

My father has throat cancer. A lump appeared on his neck in the spring. I live separately from my parents. My mother didn’t notice the lump, but I happened to see it and spent two months persuading him to go to the doctor. Symptoms: a lump on the throat—by the way, his throat didn’t hurt at all, he wasn’t in any pain—his voice sounded like he was speaking through a pipe, and foul-smelling pus was coming out. It smelled very strongly from him. Twice the tumor tried to block his throat, but the doctors saved him. Chemotherapy didn’t help. Now he’s lying in the hospital with a tube in his throat. You know, it’s absolutely horrible. I’ve been depressed for two months. I’ve fallen ill myself because of him.

My father is 57 years old. He was diagnosed with throat cancer 8 months ago. He underwent radiation therapy (5 months ago). At first, for the first month, things were not too bad; we even had hope for recovery. But something happened. According to the tests, everything seems fine, but in reality... He cannot swallow food, has almost no voice, suffers from constipation, and experiences terrible weakness. Could it really be heading toward its logical conclusion :-((((((?
Hello, They scheduled radiation therapy. I said it's pointless, that we're too late, that they should just let me die in peace. I have no strength left, and I can only tolerate liquid food. How is your father doing?

Oh my God, please, you must stay strong.
In August, he underwent radiation therapy, and now he went for a follow-up check-up. They said everything is normal. Come back in three months.
But for some reason, I'm scared......

Hello Tatyana, Today we saw Professor Vorobyov. He said it's all too late, chemotherapy didn't help, and radiation can't be done—they said it would ruin his stomach. I recovered from the shock and asked, since he's going to die anyway, can we at least try? And you know how he yelled at me: "I have more experience than you have years of life!" But I saw my father myself (I hadn't seen him for two months—since the kids started school, there was either diarrhea or scrofula, and I was afraid of infecting him). I realized he's not long for this world. You know how death is depicted—always the same face. That's not my dad.

Tatiana, why don't you try consulting other doctors?
What difference does it make now... But what if they can help? Honestly, oncology is very advanced these days, and everything can be treated.
A doctor who yells like a fool is insecure. Perhaps they don't know how to treat the patient and have left them to die.

No, there's nothing more that can be done now; the metastases have spread throughout the body. My mom and I are praying that he at least makes it to the New Year. How will they treat the cancer, after all? There's no cure for cancer; it hasn't been invented yet. I hope maybe your dad can be helped—he's still young.

My throat has been hurting for a week, with pimples in my throat (like blisters). The pain increases at night and subsides in the morning. It hurts under the Adam's apple when I touch it. Could it be cancer? Please advise what to do.
P.S. Doctors prescribed LEGOLEM ointment to apply. I've been smoking for about 5 years (I'm 18)))).

Скажите, а от нагрузок на голосовые связки (я вокалом занимаюсь) может образоваться рак горла? Спасибо заранее... У меня сначала связки болели, а сегодня ночью было тяжело глотать и в горле сохло...
Tell me, can throat cancer develop from strain on the vocal cords (I do vocals)? Thanks in advance... At first my cords hurt, and tonight it was hard to swallow and my throat was dry...

I'm responding to the last two. There's no point in guessing whether there's cancer or not; if something is bothering you, you need to see an ENT specialist. The ENT should examine you with a small mirror (like the one dentists use). You can also ask for a gastroscopy—it can reveal the issue.

I've read the entire dialogue. There are as many opinions as there are people.
In 2008, I started having trouble swallowing. That was the first thing I noticed. But any food would still go down, even though it was difficult. There was absolutely no pain, and I didn't notice any other issues.
In July 2009, a lump appeared on the right side of my neck. Also painless. I went to the doctor, starting with a general practitioner as usual. He looked, felt it, and prescribed Ibuprofen tablets. He said to take them for two weeks and come back if it didn't go away. I took them, but the lump didn't disappear. I went back to him, and he sent me to an ENT specialist. The ENT looked and immediately said I had throat cancer. And that the lump on my neck was a metastasis. But to be sure, he sent me for an X-ray. They put me in a tube and immediately confirmed the diagnosis.
I was operated on in Munich on October 30, 2009, at the Rechts der Isar Clinic. Two weeks after the operation, I was home. They removed my Adam's apple and brought my trachea forward. Now I breathe through a tube. I can't speak yet. They removed my vocal cords but inserted some kind of plastic piece through which I have to learn to speak.
I'm currently undergoing radiation and chemotherapy as an outpatient. I've completed 15 radiation sessions and two chemotherapy cycles of 4 days each. During the operation, they removed 13 out of 40 lymph nodes, and there were metastases in them. The doctors say I am now completely free of cancer and metastases. This is checked every week. Furthermore, after completing 35 radiation sessions and 3 chemotherapy cycles, the doctors guarantee that the disease won't return for 20 years. I'm 56 now, plus 20 years is enough, I think.
In short, throat cancer doesn't hurt, but it's diagnosed very easily. A good ENT doctor diagnosed me, as they say, at first glance. If you have any questions, I'll answer them.

I'm reading your article and I'm astonished—metastases and 20 years? God willing. After the lump appeared in March and chemotherapy in July, it's now Christmas and my dear father is living his last days. His voice started changing in early July, and then the surgery on November 30—a tracheostomy, I think it's called. Six months of hellish torment, if you can even call these six months a life. Chemotherapy was done at intervals of about a month: 1 day of fever, 5 days of nothing at all, then he'd recover for a week (dad could eat). A week before the next chemo, it would block up again. It seems to me the article is commissioned; surely not all professors in Moscow are butchers.

Hello Tatiana. I didn't quite understand your story. They gave your dad chemotherapy first and then operated on him. I was operated on three weeks after the diagnosis was determined. As I already wrote, I was home in two weeks. My condition was satisfactory, though I had difficulty eating—food passed through with difficulty. My first chemotherapy, as well as my first radiation, was scheduled for December 10th. Before that, they inserted a feeding tube directly through my abdomen into my stomach, although I didn't understand why, since I was eating, albeit with difficulty. On December 10th, they started my first chemotherapy. It's a small pump with a reservoir, about the size of a fist. This pump was connected through a port that had been implanted in advance into my main artery. I was on this chemotherapy for 4 days, after which it was removed. All these days, I also went for radiation. I felt fine, aside from nausea. The second chemotherapy session, exactly the same, was connected on December 30th. I tolerated this one worse. It got to the point of vomiting, and severe radiation burns appeared in my mouth—I stopped eating, I couldn't. But here, the feeding tube saved me. Nutrition and everything I needed were delivered to my home. I connect and disconnect it myself, etc. To date, I have completed 18 radiation sessions and two chemotherapies. On the 18th, I'm going for a check-up. The doctor said the third chemotherapy might not be given, depending on the test results. After this treatment, a month of sanatorium treatment, and that's it.
