Atrophic gastritis, come in those who've encountered it
Hello everyone. I've been diagnosed with atrophic gastritis based on FGD and cytology results, don't know the severity yet. I naturally know it's the most severe form of gastritis. So, questions for those who've specifically faced this form. What's the likelihood it'll develop into cancer? I understand it can't be completely cured? How often should I undergo FGD with this diagnosis?
I've got this gastritis. At first, I panicked, then I stopped worrying about it. You can live your whole life with this gastritis and die from another illness, but cancer is also possible. My doctor told me the probability is similar to that of a mole; every mole can develop into cancer, but most don't. So, diet, no stress, treat flare-ups. Have a gastroscopy every year. And definitely strengthen your immune system, because it's what determines whether the atrophy will turn into cancer or your body will overcome it. And find a good gastroenterologist; they are now your main doctor. I also heard that with this type of gastritis, you should avoid tea, both black and green, as they accelerate atrophy.

You might consider consulting Dr. L.P. Polyakova, a phytotherapist, for atrophic gastritis. My friend from Moscow achieved quite good results after just a month of treatment with her. Naturally, this doctor takes a systematic and comprehensive approach, prescribing diets like a professional nutritionist, though I understand her main strength lies in her unique herbal blends.

I've had this diagnosis for many years. I don't react well to coffee, but since I love it so much, I only drink it weak and with milk. My diet is normal, just not overeating. There can be issues with acidity, so I sometimes drink Essentuki No. 4—it's important that it's only No. 4, as it's universal. Thanks for the tip about tea here; I didn't know that, though I also drink it weak.

What's your diet like? For me this is a new condition - even with high-grade atrophy I didn't notice anything until recently when I went for a gastroscopy. The doctor said I'll have to take pantoprazole for life.
Have you cured atrophic gastritis? If not, perhaps my experience can help you. Don’t believe people who say that atrophy cannot be treated. The stomach restores its mucous membrane on its own—otherwise, gastric ulcers would never heal. The only thing you need to do is eliminate the cause of the atrophy. Did you take Omeprazole or other antisecretory medications before you were diagnosed with atrophic gastritis? If so, Omeprazole is the cause of your atrophy. You need to stop all medications and switch to treatment with bitter herbs and plantain. But even if you do nothing, the gastric mucosa will still recover, provided you don’t take any medications. It’s also important to consider that regeneration in the stomach occurs very slowly. For example, I have been restoring my stomach for four years now. But it all depends on the extent of the atrophy, so the timeline varies for everyone.

Bloody hell! It's like you immediately crave all the worst stuff. I break it several times a week. I hold out, hold out, and then BAM! Goodbye diet. Then I regret it. Where can I get some willpower from?

I was diagnosed with this condition at 21. I had an endoscopy done—it was terrifying, I almost died. Since then, I’ve been afraid to go to doctors. I’ve had occasional pain. I took De-Nol and it went away. Now I have dull stomach pains, issues with bowel movements, and abdominal discomfort. I’ve lost weight—I was on a protein diet in the summer, but I’m still losing weight now. No nausea or vomiting. I haven’t been to a doctor in 8 years; I’m scared of the tube. But so far, thank God, I’m alive and working.

I have been diagnosed with severe grade 3 gastritis, and I read online that this is atrophic gastritis. There is hyperplasia of the foveolar and glandular epithelium. The doctors said that it is essential to get rid of Helicobacter pylori, and the inflammation will gradually subside.

Anna, have a gastroscopy under anaesthesia. I did it. Fell asleep, woke up. As if nothing happened. I was also diagnosed with atrophic gastritis (((
I am 15 years old. I was diagnosed with this in 2015. The only thing that needs to be done is to eat properly and treat other health issues!!! Everything is interconnected.

I was also really scared of the gastroscopy, had it done while asleep. That's the solution for me!
I was also diagnosed with Helicobacter pylori infection. I was prescribed treatment, went online, read up on it, and almost lost my mind. I've come to my own conclusions: get checked every six months for the infection and have an endoscopy. And, damn it, I'll cure this Helicobacter.

I have the same diagnosis as well. I've been undergoing treatment for two years now, but the symptoms persist—such as the coating on the tongue, acidity, and so on. If you know how to recover, please write.

Oh, yes! There's always something wrong with my throat! At first it was just chronic tonsillitis, and now on one side of my mouth (always the right side) 1-2 little blisters pop up, then they go away quickly. I've been to all the doctors—some said it's a cyst, others said it's herpes, others say it's due to the stomach. Has anyone else had this? Also, facial redness has appeared—I notice it's worse during flare-ups... they said it's an autoimmune process. I took pills for 20 years—now I realise they were probably finishing me off...(((

I have focal atrophic gastritis. It was diagnosed during an endoscopy, but they didn't take a biopsy, even though the gastroenterologist said they should have. I've been suffering for 2 months. I was prescribed De-Nol. I took it for a month, but there's no improvement. I don't know what to do. For now, I'm trying to find good specialists online. Symptoms: burning in the stomach after eating, poor appetite, nausea, low energy, depression. Anyone familiar with this? Is there any way to achieve an improvement in my condition?

You need to take a biopsy from 5 different points, then it will be clear whether you have atrophy or not and what type it is, because it can vary, and this is key as such a diagnosis isn't made without a biopsy! Check for Helicobacter pylori, and if it's present, eradicate it as it could be the cause. Otherwise, there isn't really any other treatment... herbs, Plantaglucid, diet, etc. That is, supportive therapy. Personally, I have constant issues with stool, bloating, my stomach oddly doesn't hurt, and the atrophy was found accidentally on a biopsy; before that, they checked everything—pancreas, liver, intestines... found nothing. So I'm considering eradicating Helicobacter pylori; they found it but in small amounts.

Good afternoon. A year ago, during an endoscopy, focal atrophy was detected in the antrum of my stomach. Initially, I visited several doctors, but none of them told me anything specific. They all said there was nothing serious, even though I was experiencing discomfort: heaviness in the abdomen, bloating, irregular bowel movements, abdominal pain after eating, and depression. My tongue felt as if it had been scalded by hot tea, with a white coating. My treatment consists of taking medications only during flare-ups: Trimebutine, Maxilac, Hilak Forte, and Pantaglucin. Additionally, due to diffuse changes in my pancreas, I also take Pangrol during these periods. However, all of this is only during exacerbations. Currently, I am experiencing a flare-up and am on a diet of soups, porridges, and steamed cutlets, waiting for it to subside. A year has passed, and I haven’t undergone another endoscopy—I’m too afraid. I also no longer visit doctors.

Hello. I've had the same diagnosis for a year now, I've also read up and cried a lot. Still haven't cured it, I take Trimebutine and Maxilac periodically. You need to calm down and move on with what you have.

Same here. Had an endoscopy 4 days ago at a private clinic. Didn't do a biopsy. Wrote that the gastric mucosa is patchy due to focal atrophy, plus linear erosions. All symptoms like yours. Prescribed me Nolpaza to heal the erosions. The gastroenterologist told me to forget about the atrophic part and come back to her in a month for another endoscopy.

Yeah, ignoring it won't work, it keeps reminding you of itself. (((
Can anyone advise if it's possible to take Gastorex with this type of gastritis, and whether it might cause harm? I have low acidity and am taking plantain to raise it—maybe I could try Gastorex as well?

For depression there's a very good herbal medicine. It's prepared by a phytotherapist with 15 years' experience. Many have been cured of neurosis and depression. If you want the WhatsApp number I'll write it, contact him.

They found Helicobacter pylori, plus I have bile reflux into my stomach. Treated H. pylori with PPIs and antibiotics. After the PPIs, the bile reflux got even worse, I nearly went mad. I don't understand how to eradicate Helicobacter pylori.

Does anyone else experience severe pain with atrophic gastritis? I have excruciating pain day and night. I can't take any tablets for my joints or heart—afterwards, I'm climbing the walls and nothing helps. Constant bloating and pain. How do you live if you can't take a single pill? A strict diet and Nexium 40mg dull the pain a bit... but if I take a tablet for other issues, even Nexium is powerless!!!
I've suffered from gastritis since childhood, and atrophic gastritis started in 2016 when I was 48. Previously, flare-ups would subside within a month or two, and life was somewhat manageable. But now, it's been a year of hell. Nothing helps... I've tried different treatment plans and doctors. No H. pylori. Atrophy is in the antral region, with bile reflux into the stomach. I've taken pills by the handful for various illnesses all my life, and that's what ruined me.

Hello, tell me, did you cure your atrophic gastritis? I also have focal atrophic gastritis with intestinal metaplasia, treated H. pylori with antibiotics and took De-Nol, now they've prescribed De-Nol again. Drank aloe juice, potato juice, Shestakovsky's balsam. Before treatment, practically nothing bothered me, sometimes had hunger pains, but after eating everything passed.
