No, don't think I'm here to whinge. I've already been to the surgeon, of course. He confirmed it. Now I'm waiting for my turn for an ultrasound. Then it'll be clear. But something... I'm scared, I suppose. The doctor reassured me, said it's quite likely to go away on its own. Has anyone else had this? Does it actually go away by itself? I've also been taking contrast showers lately, could that have affected it? I don't know... I just want examples from others. It's no laughing matter. It's my breast, after all... Thanks.
Don't worry, just get an ultrasound and everything will become clear... they'll tell you what kind of growth it is, whether it needs to be removed or not. In most cases, it doesn't need to be removed, just monitored...
For example, I have a cyst in my breast... it's been there for several years—no bigger, no smaller... it's fine... I'm living with it...
I don't think the shower affects it...

I also have a small lump; as it turns out, it's just the natural structure of the tissue.

It was, it went away on its own. I don't know what causes it. I only remember - back then my cycle was irregular. That probably affects it. Stagnation.

I recently discovered something similar in myself as well. I went for an ultrasound, and they told me it's a thickening of the tissue, which can appear with age, even though I'm only 24. They advised me to drink less coffee and quit smoking, of course, and to eat more vegetables and fruits.

Don't be afraid, in most cases it's nothing serious. Although I myself found a small lump in my breast about 5-6 years ago and got scared. I'm still afraid to go to the doctor, and now there are already 5 of these lumps, with the latest one appearing in the other breast. Nothing hurts or bothers me (well, except for the asymmetry in my figure, perhaps). If something terrible happens and I die, no one will even notice. But I don't want to be left without breasts. Good luck to you!

I've had this for about four years for sure, and I'm only 21((( I get checked by a doctor every year, have ultrasounds, and I don't really suffer from it in principle, except even though the doctor says it's nothing serious, I still worry. It shows up as these lumps becoming painful and inflamed before my period—I have them in both breasts, and not just one each.

It's mastopathy. Maybe it will go away after you have a child.

Author, an ultrasound will show whether it's a cyst or something else. If I were in your place, if it's not a cyst, I would get a biopsy. Don't trust the doctor if they say it will go away on its own. Get a biopsy and you'll sleep peacefully, as a doctor can't tell exactly what it is just by feeling it. Are you in America? I also had lumps in my breast, went to an oncologist, it was mastopathy. They didn't prescribe anything except sedatives and vitamins, and everything resolved during pregnancy.
So don't worry too much.

I also have lumps. I had an ultrasound and a mammogram. The diagnosis was fibroadenomas (they increase quite a bit and become painful before menstruation). Essentially, there's nothing terrible. They can resolve on their own. If they increase in size, they suggest removing them, which I really don't want. So far, touch wood, everything is fine; I get checked once a year.

I also had mastopathy. I got two different opinions: at the Almaty Oncology Centre (I pulled myself together and went there), they said I had mastopathy in the left breast, while in my hometown, they said there was nothing at all—that my breasts were so small you could feel the bone. After giving birth, things are fine now. The gynaecologist says my breasts are soft, but for some reason, they still ache from time to time. I can’t tell if it might be heart pain radiating there. Naturally, I’m worried—I’m quite the hypochondriac.

Thank you! You've reassured me. The main thing is that it's not cancer. I don't want to be without a breast. I'll look up everything about mastopathy and cysts online now. I've only come across these terms before but never looked into them. And if they remove it, does the breast not get smaller? My breasts are already almost a size smaller as it is...
My period is also two whole weeks late... maybe that's somehow related...
And to the girl who's afraid to go to the doctor—you need to overcome it! I went straight away. I don't like the feeling of uncertainty. My mum is like that; she has a bunch of ailments and doesn't know where they come from. Everything hurts, but she's afraid to go to the doctor. Actually, there's nothing scary about it at all!

A couple of days ago, I also discovered an oval-shaped lump in my breast that hurts when pressed. About a year ago, during a check-up, my gynaecologist told me I had mastopathy but didn’t prescribe any treatment, and I didn’t really pay attention to it or treat it... Now I’m worried that maybe I should have started treatment right away, and perhaps it has gotten worse.... I read online that there are two types of mastopathy: diffuse and nodular. For the first, medication is prescribed, while the second requires surgical intervention. Could it be that my mastopathy has progressed from diffuse to nodular? I’m really worried, as I’d hate to have to undergo surgery. My period is due in about 10 days, so I can’t go for an examination just yet (they say you should go after it ends). Or maybe it’s just inflamed right before my period, and I’m worrying for nothing?

I also have a lump in my breast, and I think it's been there for a while. I didn't pay attention to it. But yesterday I felt it, and my breast started to hurt. Even though I'm only 18. I got scared that it might be something serious. I read some forums and felt a bit reassured. But I'm still quite anxious about it.

I currently have a lump in my breast (I'm 19 years old). The last time I had such a noticeable lump was last winter, around the same time. I went to the doctor, and she said it's all due to hormonal changes (it might go away after childbirth). She prescribed Mastodynon drops and told me to apply Progestogel gel for a while. It seemed to help. By the way, I've heard the drops are quite good even for prevention. Oh, and also, the doctor recommended getting a scan, but I never went for it, hoping it would go away on its own and the medication would help. But overall, I think consulting a doctor in such cases is essential.

I noticed a lump three days ago. I got worried. And now there are state exams on top of it. I'm sitting here studying and thinking I need to go for a check-up with a doctor. It's a bit scary, but I'm not alone and I think everything will be alright. Everyone, hang in there. Everything will be fine.
I have had yellowish, transparent discharge from my breast for about five years (I am 24 years old). I was afraid to go to the doctor. Last year, I finally decided to go. An ultrasound showed no lumps, and the lymph nodes were not inflamed. I was diagnosed with mastopathy and prescribed vitamins, Progestogel, and Duphaston. None of it helped me.

I have discovered lumps in my breast and yellow discharge, and my breast hurts (I am 44 years old). I am afraid to go to the hospital and do not want to have a biopsy because I know that after it, people do not live long. Do you think this is cancer? Will a mammogram show a tumour, and does that mean it is cancer or not necessarily? Is a biopsy absolutely necessary?
Lina

A biopsy? Sorry, there's nothing about it that takes away any of your life's time; it's just an analysis. And why did you assume you'd have to have one? Perhaps you simply have mastopathy, just not at an early stage, which is why the discharge appeared.

I'm very worried, I discovered a lump in my breast the day before my period, quite firm and about the size of a grape... I thought it would shrink by the third day of my period... but there's been no change((( I'm really anxious because I live abroad and making a doctor's appointment will take a lot of time... and my nerves are on edge.... I'm 23.

I've had a lump in my breast for two years now. Currently, I'm breastfeeding, and it has increased in size, although I believe it will dissolve after breastfeeding—I've heard this from many people. I've seen doctors who said it needs to be removed, but I'm hesitant. I'll wait and see what happens after breastfeeding.

As soon as my breasts grew, they became firm right away. When I was about 17, I suddenly got scared and ran to a doctor I knew, an oncologist actually. She felt them—seemed normal. She invited me to her hospital on the day she consults with a mammologist. The mammologist examined me and said it's just the way they're built—firm breasts that are unlikely to sag anytime soon.

Lena, a mammogram will definitely show a lump, but that doesn't mean it's cancer at all. In such cases, a biopsy is absolutely necessary—how else would you know? And no one dies from it; they just need to take a sample from the lump, you won't even feel it!

I also discovered a painful lump in myself and really didn't want to go to the doctor, so I decided to examine my breast on my own. To my greatest surprise, when I massaged my breast and pressed as if to express milk, a viscous, very thick yellow substance, similar to pus but odourless, started flowing out. For about an hour, I squeezed it out drop by drop, and as a result, the lump disappeared, and now everything is fine!!!!!!!!

On the 10th day after my period, I experience discomfort in my breasts; they become enlarged, but the right breast becomes very firm, and when pressed, there is a slight tingling sensation. I am very worried! After my period, everything goes away... and this happens periodically... it has been going on for more than 5 months now. This has never happened before!

For two years, I experienced breast tenderness starting a week before my period, which would subside on the first day of my cycle. Two months ago, I started taking the hormonal contraceptive pill Jeanine. Around the end of the first month of taking it, my breasts began to hurt—intensely and continuously—and this pain has persisted until now. I've also noticed some lumps. What could this be? Could it be due to the pills?
Two days ago, a lump appeared in my breast, in the lower part.
It hurts when pressed, and the borders are clearly defined. I don't know if I should go to the doctor, I'm 16 years old. What would you advise?

I gave birth three weeks ago and am breastfeeding. About four days ago, I felt a small lump in my breast. I massaged my breast, thinking it might be a blocked milk duct, and expressed milk after feeding. But the lump is still there. Has anyone else experienced something like this specifically in the postpartum period?

I also have a small lump in my chest, but with clear contours. I'm 19 years old. Before my period, both breasts hurt quite badly. It's been going on for a long time, and I'm afraid to go to the doctor and tell my mum. And there are already so many problems... Last year, I had a surgeon's check-up, and both times they just stamped me as healthy without me even asking them to examine me properly... Now I hope they'll actually look... and tell me...

I also found a lump in myself, quite large... With the onset of my period, it "subsided," but it was still there... I was scared for a long time, then I went to the doctor, and within two minutes, she extracted a large cyst from me with a syringe. It didn't hurt. So don't be afraid of anything and go to the doctor!

Cysts mainly occur in women aged 30 to 55. They are like a soft, smooth sac or blister within the glandular tissue. When pressed, it feels as if there is fluid inside. When too much fluid accumulates in the cyst, this sac becomes firm to the touch and begins to cause severe pain. In such cases, doctors recommend aspirating the fluid from this nodular formation with a needle.

Yes, hormones definitely affect these lumps. I also had severe breast pain at night; I would get up and ache, afraid to go to the doctor, but I went anyway. They did an ultrasound, nothing serious, gave me treatment, and it seemed to pass, it didn't hurt as much. After the treatment, I got pregnant, gave birth, and it was as if it lifted like a hand. Now, thank God, everything is fine.

I've discovered some lumps, quite a few on both breasts. They're like little balls—but not exactly balls. More like nodules, from 2 cm and larger. Perhaps they've always been there. I never really paid attention before. But they don't hurt. What should I do?
