I don't know what to do anymore - I've been suffering from rosacea for several years, my nose especially suffers - it swells up and goes red. I've cut out all fatty, salty, sweet and spicy foods from my diet. I drink herbal stomach teas. But it hasn't got much better. Maybe someone has experience fighting this tricky condition?
The only ailments everyone on Woman.ru discusses are cellulite, obesity, and pregnancy. Search online for rosacea, and you'll find some forum there that can offer better advice, whereas on Woman.ru, it's only worth asking about cellulite.

Rosacea? Did a doctor diagnose you? They should have prescribed treatment, medications, and follow-ups. It feels like everyone here is their own dermatologist.

Katya, I truly sympathise with you; I've suffered from rosacea myself but managed to overcome it eventually. Since 2005, the symptoms haven't troubled me. My name is Olga, and my ICQ is ***, should you wish to know more details.

Strange, ICQ is working specifically with this number. Perhaps I haven't been online for a few days. If ICQ still can't be found, write to olgaperova1978@gmail.com.
In fact, the widespread information online about rosacea, along with many doctors and such, tends to be more frightening... I have had very lasting treatment results: since the summer of 2005, the symptoms have not recurred. In my doctor's practice, there have already been four cases of rosacea treatment with positive outcomes (out of four individuals who came for consultation and treatment). But I agree, much depends on the person and their mindset... if someone has resigned themselves to their illness, it will continue to gnaw at them... Another will keep searching for a way out until they find it :)

To all those suffering from rosacea! I've been struggling and trying every treatment for almost 5 years. And only now, knock on wood, I'm seeing results. I've been taking Doxycycline for ten days. It's a tetracycline antibiotic. Inexpensive. I don't know how long the improvement will last, but it's there.!!!!!!!!!! I'll finish the second pack and see what happens without the medication. Wishing everyone luck in treatment and recovery!!!!!
Victoria, please let me know how your treatment is progressing? And what are you taking besides the antibiotic? Have any topical medications been prescribed? I'm very keen to know - on which day after starting the antibiotics did you notice a clear improvement? And what was the severity of your condition?

I was offered cryo-facial massage, but it required going to work after 1 PM for 10 days, and I couldn't manage that. Steaming the face is not allowed, that I know for sure.
Today, I finally visited the dermatologist. He confirmed my diagnosis—rosacea. I've been referred for tests for giardia and dysbiosis, plus an abdominal ultrasound. In the meantime, I'm to take Bellataminal for three weeks and apply either Basiron or Differin on my face every other night. However, I declined these medications because I've used them before and they severely damaged my skin. Although the doctor and I figured out that I had overused them—combining them and applying them twice daily—we've still settled on Skinoren for now, as I've already been using it for two weeks anyway. We'll see how it goes. It's essential to moisturise the skin and wash only once a day—in the evening with a very gentle gel. In the morning, I should wipe my face with Sensibio H2O water. That's all the prescriptions in brief (until the tests). Let's see how things progress.

Well, of course, it's incurable, but! It is possible and necessary to improve the situation. If you're troubled by rosacea's consequence—acne rosacea—then it's quite possible to combat it. At the very least, one can avoid worsening the situation with an improper lifestyle. And for that, it's essential to know as much as possible about your ailment. Unfortunately, there's quite limited information, but the basics are available and must be taken into account.

Airin3, does it help? I probably ended up with a bad doctor; she didn't prescribe any tests, only told me to take Milgamma for 20 days and to buy Sensibio AR cream. The cream is good, of course, the condition isn't getting worse, but the main thing is that it hasn't improved one bit. I'll try buying this water and Sinocoren as well. Probably, antibiotics should still be prescribed by a doctor, right? I have very few pimples, but my skin is red, very unsightly.

I have taken antibiotics in two-week courses twice already. Improvement occurs after about a week, meaning fewer new breakouts appear. Then the skin clears up completely. However, after just over a month, they start to reappear. I always apply Skinoren gel, Differin, and Metrogyl topically. Overall, it has certainly gotten better than before. But I've read in articles that antibiotics should be taken for up to a month. I'm a bit afraid to take them for that long. Still, I think I'll soon decide to try this experiment.

I've been suffering for about six years now, constantly applying Yam ointment in the evening and then a sulfur and metronidazole-based cream; it gets somewhat better, but not for long.

I have been suffering from this condition for five years now. Currently, I'm treating my stomach. The doctor prescribed topical hormone-containing ointments and also recommended Bioptron (Zepter), a light therapy device. There are very positive reviews about it online—I'm going to give it a try. I've also read that the cause might be intestinal dysbiosis and the notorious Helicobacter pylori. The ointment brought immediate improvements, but it shouldn't be overused as it can age the skin quickly. Overall, I need to find a suitable regimen and apply it two to three times a year.

Never use hormone-containing preparations in the treatment of rosacea; it is strictly contraindicated. Initially, there may be improvement, but then irreversible consequences will follow. The doctor who recommended this is incompetent; go and see another one.

I've been suffering from rosacea for 15 years now, and it feels like I've tried everything except Roaccutane. I use hormonal ointments for just two days a month, trying not to overuse them, and constantly rely on Skin-cap instead of a regular cream. Otherwise, if left untreated, it turns into an unbearably itchy, red, flaky mess—there's no other word for it.

I completely agree about hormone-containing ointments. I've tried them myself =(. At first, there's a short-term improvement, but then the condition flares up even more... "Thanks" to my dermatologist....

I've been suffering for a year, spent a month in the hospital with this problem, being discharged the day after tomorrow, and there's practically no result. What should I do? I'm in shock! I want to talk to the doctor tomorrow about ozone injections. Has anyone tried it? I read online that it seems to help.

Don't trust the charlatans from this clinic. They drained a huge amount of money from me with zero results. I particularly want to mention how the staff at this clinic treat people. I was extremely dissatisfied with the service and the disrespectful attitude, not to mention how much money Euroferma squeezed out of me.
My rosacea remains and hasn't cleared up. You need to look for good treatments on foreign websites. Our doctors can't treat rosacea.
A week ago, I bought the Rosacea cream from Ovante and had high hopes for it, but alas, everything got even worse. The breakouts spread further to the décolletage area, and my face became all wrinkled because the cream dries out the skin.

Since February, it had been flourishing. I tried ointments, antibiotics, all in vain. Friends gave me a recipe from a healthy lifestyle magazine. I applied it morning and evening for a week. It's a miracle!!!!
Recipe:
1 tablespoon of unrefined vegetable oil
1 tablespoon of pork lard (internal fat)
1 tablespoon of unsalted cow's butter
1 tablespoon of pine resin
1 tablespoon of spruce resin
1 tablespoon of fir resin (you can use two or even just one type of resin)
Slightly more than 1 tablespoon of beeswax
1 medium onion with skin (score it to create 'petals' so it releases all its juice)
Put everything in a frying pan except the cow's butter, add that later to prevent burning. Simmer everything together until the 'petals' become dry. Avoid burning at all costs, cook on low heat. Then strain the mixture through two layers of gauze and transfer to a glass or porcelain dish. The result is a yellow, oily ointment with a resinous smell. You can add larch sulphur, which is often sold in Siberia.
If the ointment turns out too thick, add a bit more fats.
The ointment keeps for years, doesn't spoil, doesn't lose its healing properties, quickly draws out pus, and relieves pain.
I'll be very happy if it helps.
Looking forward to feedback.

Skincare definitely helps on the cheeks and chin, but what about the nose when rhinophyma has started? All the capillaries are visible, pores are enlarged, and the nose is oily due to improper functioning of the sebaceous glands, and this is only the first stage.
Catherine, I also had rosacea. I managed to treat it with a cream. I can provide more details via email at star19881@rambler.ru.

Yes, I managed to cure my rosacea after four years of suffering and trying all sorts of treatments—around 50 types from conventional medicine and folk remedies—with consistently negative results.
The method is simple. Dilute Dimexide with water in a ratio of 3 to 1 (water) and apply it all over your face with a cotton pad, several times until it turns red. All the mites and calcium deposits start surfacing, and it will sting, but not for long. You need to clean all of this off. Repeat about five times a day. At night, without washing off the Dimexide, cover your face with a thick layer of baby cream (with chamomile) mixed with vitamin E and A, plus pure Dimexide (a teaspoon per half-tube of cream). In the morning, wash your face with serum. After about a week, your facial skin will become clear. Don’t stop for another week. Then take a break for a week and repeat if necessary. Take Polyphepan internally to remove toxins from your body. All these mites die instantly, and Dimexide seems to dissolve them by penetrating deep inside. It’s inexpensive. You can also follow up with masks made from rice flour and cottage cheese. Alternatively, use homemade butter and, after five minutes, apply sour cream for 30 minutes. The results surprised even me.

RAISA, how long has it been since your treatment? Is it just temporary relief? And I'd like to clarify about Dimexide – after applying it all over the face, how long should I wait before washing it off? And with what? Just plain water?

3 parts Dimexide and 1 part water or the other way around? Will my face not burn with these ratios? Will the effects appear immediately or gradually? Do you mean to cleanse with a cotton pad?

Fellow sufferers. I also have a problem with facial redness, especially on my nose and chin. I've been to doctors. The most effective treatment was at the local skin clinic(!). They diagnosed rosacea and gave me a simple and inexpensive remedy. It just stings quite a bit. You need to apply a 20% Benzyl Benzoate emulsion at night. Do this for about 10-15 days. In the morning, gently wipe it off with a cotton pad and cleansing milk, then apply Rosex cream. Such creams are available from different brands. For oily and normal skin, Roselian (Uriage) is better, while for dry skin, Avene's Atirouge is preferable. I figured all this out through trial and error. And most importantly, keep hoping that everything will be fine. I'm already doing better! Honestly.

I have one cheek that has become paler in one spot, while the other hasn't changed at all. I'm diluting Dimexide with water 1:1, and the skin is peeling. If I don't apply anything, the skin in that area becomes like after cellulite; it's getting scary now!

They say it seems to help and it seems not for long, but it's probably expensive(
Raisa, be a good person, please go to the website and answer the question, after all, in what proportion to dilute this Dimexide and how long to keep it on, because the skin is already peeling off((((
I have been suffering from rosacea for 8 years. I was treated by a professor at a dermatology clinic—the large pimples disappeared, but redness appears periodically, and my skin has become uneven. I took antibiotics for six months, stopped them on my own, and parted ways with the professor when I developed dysbiosis and damaged my liver and kidneys.

Hello everyone. I've been suffering from this condition for a long time, since I was about 19. It used to only appear after drinking alcohol as redness and flaking around my nose, but now it's gotten worse (I'm 26 now). I'm following a diet and attending the day clinic at the Dermatology Centre here in Yekaterinburg. I have a few questions for you:
1) Have you tried such folk remedies as yarrow decoction, chamomile, propolis, aloe vera juice, or rosehip?
2) The doctor told me not to wash my face during treatment. It's been 5 days, and my facial skin is terribly itchy, and my beard—when it grows out—only seems to make the reaction worse, in my opinion. What would you advise?

I was prescribed TRICHOPOL 250mg, to take 3 tablets a day for 10 days, then a 10-day break, and repeat this cycle three times. Everything cleared up. However, it lasted for only 1.5 years, though during that time: no diet, constant hot drinks and food, alcohol, sauna, sun exposure, etc.—basically, a full life. Now, I've been prescribed Trichopol again, and after 10 days, there are noticeable improvements; I hope it will all go away.
P.S. I'm considering changing my lifestyle; maybe that will help.

I developed rosacea due to low stomach acid. I'm taking herbs: calamus root and wormwood. Externally, ketoconazole cream (Nizoral – it's actually antifungal) works well – it's non-hormonal and very fast-acting.

Trichopol is prescribed for demodicosis (incidentally, such a diagnosis does not exist), and rosacea is by no means always a consequence of Demodex (mite) activity; it can also be present in healthy individuals.

I have been prescribed Trichopol 250mg, one tablet three times a day for 10 days, then twice a day for another 10 days, and finally once a day for 10 days, along with Ascorutin, tetracycline ointment, and Rosamet (Metrogyl) ointment, as well as herbal decoctions: chamomile, marigold, and St. John's wort. I'm waiting to see if it helps.

I visited a gastroenterologist. It turned out to be severe dysbiosis. I've already partially completed the treatment (over 5 months). The improvement is clear. I'm continuing with the treatment. I advise everyone to get tested for dysbiosis and see a good gastroenterologist with the results. Good luck to all.

In February 2009, my son (16 years old) developed huge pink acne (4 of them) on his nose. At a cosmetic clinic, he underwent electrocoagulation. The healing was quick, but deep little scars and pits remained. By the way, dermatologists diagnosed it as acne.
In November 2009, there was another severe flare-up (6 acne spots on the nose).
We decided against electrocoagulation (afraid of scarring). The treatment included: erythromycin for 10 days, trichopol for 20 days, autohaemotherapy, vitamin A, neurobex, yeast, intramuscular plasmol for 10 days, herbal mixture for 30 days, and polyfepan 10g on an empty stomach for 14 days. In January, they prescribed 20% benzoyl-benzoate for 3 weeks at night, and Skinoren in the morning.
Result: after 2 months, the acne became smaller, but the nose took on a bluish-purplish hue. His cheeks started to redden, and then eruptions appeared on his cheeks, forehead, and chin (especially severe). All prescriptions were made by associate professors and professors. Eventually, they diagnosed him with rosacea and early rhinophyma. If anyone has this condition, please respond (especially young men) at lipenludmila@rambler.ru. Has anyone had cryomassage, laser treatment, and what were the results? Does the nose lighten?
