I've scoured the entire internet, there's very little information on this issue. Maybe there are fellow sufferers here?... anyone who got cured?.. I've tried all kinds of cough and cold medicines, nothing helps. Constant coughing at night, can't walk fast, immediately start choking... Life isn't even enjoyable anymore(((((
This is not a syndrome. It is a symptom of sinusitis—postnasal drip. If you have a chronic cough after having had a viral respiratory infection, try Ipratropium Bromide—"Aerovent" in an inhaler.

The same problem, I took Cynabsin - it helped for a while. The problem returned... I only noticed relief while taking antispasmodics (I was on bed rest in the hospital) - platyphylline, papaverine, magnesium in the form of IVs. And at home, it all started again.

I've had this nasty thing for the second year now. During the autumn-winter-spring period. As soon as my immunity drops a bit, this crap starts. Stinky mucus drips down the back of my throat. I have to swallow frequently, which irritates my throat, starts to upset my stomach, and creates a feeling of heaviness in my abdomen. At the same time, I don't feel sick—there are no other symptoms! I have no idea how to treat it! Where did this infection even come from!?

Same here! I'm going to the ENT doctor again tomorrow, not sure what they'll say. Just in case, I'll show the doctor what I found online:
"It's called Postnasal Drip Syndrome - normally, the nasal cavity produces about 500 ml of mucus. At this amount, there are no complaints. But when it increases, discomfort occurs.
Causes: 1. Inflammatory process in the nasal cavity 2. Inflammatory process in the paranasal sinuses 3. Allergic reaction 4. Hormonal imbalance in the body 5. Gastrointestinal disorders 6. Issues in the cervical spine
Recommended: 1. Bacterial culture from the nose and throat for opportunistic flora 2. Rhinocytogram (cytology of nasal secretion) 3. Throat swab for EBV (Epstein-Barr virus), CMV (Cytomegalovirus), HSV types 1 and 2 (Herpes simplex virus) 4. Blood test (PCR) for EBV, CMV, HSV types 1 and 2 5. FGDS (followed by consultation with a gastroenterologist) 6. Consultation with a neurologist 7. Consultation with an endocrinologist"
I found this online, and also this:
"Hello! Judging by the medications and remedies you listed, repeating the same approach would not be optimal. Therefore, I recommend a treatment tested over more than 20 years of experience, which has never failed—neither during my lieutenant youth at training grounds nor while serving as head of the pulmonology department at one of the Central Hospitals of the Ministry of Defense. It effectively addresses issues with difficulty in nasal breathing, chronic inflammation of the nasal and nasopharyngeal mucosa, including postnasal drip, by using intranasal turundas with boromenthol ointment. Apply twice daily, insert the turundas after a 'nasal shower,' keep them in for 20-30 minutes, and continue for 5-7-10 days. Thank you! Best regards, Alexander Prokhorov."
That's the treatment. Let's see how it helps.

Good evening. What spray were you prescribed? I've also had this crap for 3 months now. I've changed 4 ENTs, they all said it would go away in 3 days, but nothing goes away. When I was getting IV treatments with Metode, it was better. It's anti-inflammatory, but it's getting worse every day. I've gargled and rinsed my nose, and did nasal irrigation. I had a 3D CT scan of my sinuses. Tests showed Staphylococcus aureus with high white blood cells from my nose, after treatment the test started showing streptococcus. I had blood tests, the results were good. They diagnosed acute sinusitis, but no treatment helps. This mucus has, to put it mildly, already driven me crazy. I feel this mucus in my throat all day on the left side, since the inflammation is in my left nostril. Sometimes I'm afraid to eat because this mucus also tries to get into my airway when breathing, I've already started having panic attacks. I made an appointment with the best gastroenterologist and the best ENT in Almaty, the ENT appointment is only on August 21st, in a month and a half. How am I supposed to endure all this psychologically? I already bought myself hormonal drops like Nasonex, I read online about people who had this problem. And many doctors on YouTube said this and I started putting turundas in my nose with Levomekol and I'm taking homeopathic tablets Cinnabsin, I rinse my sinuses with Sinomarin. The last two were prescribed by ENTs. It helps for maybe 30 minutes, then it starts bothering me again. And it all started with a simple cold 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ I know I'll have to get many tests and see many doctors, but I just want to breathe and not constantly clear my throat all day from this mucus. Later I'll describe all my doctor visits and write if they were able to find the cause and cure it. Health to everyone

I suffer from it too, it happens at least once a year. Right now after a viral infection, I've been treating it for three weeks already, a little better but not completely. It's dripping down the back of my throat, either I swallow it or I gag until I vomit and spit it out. It's incurable, as my ENT told me, the treatment is symptomatic, and I need to have septoplasty. Why didn't they recommend it earlier when I was younger? In a year I'll be 60, and a paid ENT in St. Petersburg didn't recommend surgery because of anesthesia risks.

Yes, it is. It took them 5 years to diagnose me. I kept telling pulmonologists it was asthma - my nose and bronchi get equally congested because the mucous membrane is the same in both the nose and bronchi.

And only hormonal drops help, I'm now using Desrinit, it's cheaper, works well, the course is 1 month. I'm looking on Apteka.ru, Yandex Market, using Sberbank thank you bonuses, I activate privileges monthly, and it's great if there's 5% cashback on pharmacies.

Don't regret that you're not getting the surgery, there are many cases where the surgery didn't help, and after the operation people suffered even more on top of everything.

I've been suffering for about two years. In the mornings, it's no longer just mucus but brownish lumps every morning. My husband says I go to gag, and even when talking, a lump of mucus flies up into my throat. At night, I choke. The ENT barely looked for a minute, wrote that the nose and tonsils, etc., are hyperemic, and sent me to the pediatrician to figure it out. And there... they abruptly changed the subject to another illness. Currently, I've been sick for 3 weeks, with suspicions of pneumonia or obstructive bronchitis, and I can't breathe through my nose at all. Mucus comes out through my mouth.

After reading about many people's experiences, I've realized this thing isn't curable. I've had this issue for two years; I didn't worry about it before, and it bothered me very little. But once I started thinking about it, it's constantly dripping. I don't even want to put any drops in my nose, as using too many medications might just do more harm. I think it's simply necessary to monitor my lifestyle, pay less attention to it, and stop irritating my throat. Subconsciously, I need to understand that it's just mucus, harmless. You don't have tuberculosis or lung cancer. All problems are primarily in the head. Most people just constantly obsess and fall into depression, making themselves even more anxious. With that mindset, of course, nothing good will come of it.

Later I'll describe all my doctor visits and write if they were able to find the cause and cure it. Health to everyone
Hello!!! Please tell me, did you get cured? What did you do? I'm also from Almaty, suffering from the same problem.

I also suffered, but then I found this amazing homeopathic remedy called Cinapsin. You take it according to the schedule—everything is written there. I literally took the pills for just two days, and almost everything disappeared as if by magic.
Oksana, good afternoon. My name is Viktor. I'm from Bryansk. Please write in more detail how you cured your postnatal issue. With respect, Viktor. Thank you in advance.

I have a 24/7 foul smell inside me, like pus. I used to think a rat had died in the apartment—I kept searching for where the stench was coming from. Later, I realized it's in my nasopharynx...
It started about 5 years ago.
I think there are several reasons: a deviated nasal septum, working in dusty environments (I've quit since, but it hasn't gone away), poor city ecology (there's a huge factory in the city center), skimping on food—lack of vitamins, greens, seafood, nuts—and a weak immune system due to depression and severe psychological trauma. Basically, it's a mess.

Yeah right, and if it smells terrible, like corpse poison in your throat and from your mouth, how is that normal? And it flows constantly without end.

Hello everyone. How has everyone dealt with this issue?
I tried everything - a bunch of hormonal sprays, drops, pills. The cough was really bad throughout the day. The result: linacwa forte helps with nasal congestion. Unexpectedly got better. I only cough in the mornings now, but less. I suspect the antidepressant duloxetine prescribed by the neurologist might have helped.
