Does anyone know why you can't drink alcohol for 7-10 days after botox? and not even 0.3 beer? They just write it everywhere, but why you can't - it's unclear.

To avoid accelerating the absorption of the medication, otherwise it will not last the promised six months as your doctor stated.

Not only alcohol. Generally, while the Botox is still effective, you should avoid saunas, steam baths, and antibiotics. Otherwise, it will wear off quickly.

I also asked my doctor why it's not allowed. She said it's okay in moderation, but doctors tend to be extra cautious.

You cannot because alcohol causes blood vessels to dilate and raises body temperature, which is not at all needed after Botox injections. Generally, all heat exposures are not recommended, such as tanning beds, saunas, etc.

I drank some alcohol, damn it, about 30-40 grams of cognac, and my face turned crimson. After that, I took Zyrtec, and it seems to have subsided. I'm sitting here waiting to see what happens next, I'm scared...

I got Botox at lunch, and in the evening, I had a glass of champagne for a colleague's birthday. I completely forgot the cosmetologist's warning about alcohol! The Botox lasted as usual for me, which is about 4 months.

Today is the fourth day—I had a glass of wine. Now I'm afraid my efforts might be undone prematurely.
But the doctor mentioned five days. Another one, in principle, insisted on abstaining on the day of the appointment.

I had it done on Saturday morning, just drank two glasses of champagne, my esthetician told me to abstain for 2-3 days, I've been getting it done for 5 years in total. Knock on wood—everything's fine)

I asked my cosmetologist when I was getting injections. She said that in her experience, if you drink alcohol, the Botox "sets" faster. So it would normally "set" in about 10 days, but if you drink, it happens sooner. She recommended having a drink))). Trying it out))).

And doesn't it seem like cosmetologists don't strictly forbid drinking alcohol only because the patient will come back more often afterward ???

Ladies,
My cosmetologist actually said that alcohol is okay to have! She mentioned that nothing was said about it during the training. And after getting Botox, I went to a presentation in the evening and had some whiskey there. Everything set perfectly, and it lasted exactly a month. Another cosmetologist claimed that alcohol neutralizes the effect of Botox... That's why you're not supposed to consume it for 10 days. Okay, but then who can explain to me why it's allowed after 10 days? Is it because the muscles are already paralyzed? Right?
I've had Botox done many times. Once, I drank half a bottle of beer on the second or third day, and the Botox didn't take effect. When I drank alcohol, the Botox wore off faster. Now I don't drink alcohol at all, and the duration has increased. This is based on my personal experience.

Are you saying that you can't drink for 10 days or at all while Botox is in effect?

I drink vodka calmly on the same day after Botox and everything is always fine. It lasts for six months. Once I didn't drink, and my left eyebrow "dropped" after three months... Everyone's body reacts differently.
I don't know, I did the same and completely forgot that you can't drink. And the worst part is that I drank afterward and the next day, and it continues...

I think it depends on the product itself... Last time I had it done, the next day I was like a marble statue, and it lasted through my birthday celebration—eight months!!!! This time, I went to a different beautician (mine moved abroad permanently), tomorrow is the 9th day, and my eyebrows are moving... and she said strictly no for two weeks... I was at an anniversary party and only had juice. Tomorrow my childhood friend is coming, and I won't be able to go wild... maybe I should just forget it?)))

I got Botox and had to drink wine and dance the next day. I didn't get drunk at all, dancing was difficult, and I felt unwell for a while. I think alcohol and Botox together act like antibiotics and alcohol—you never know where it'll hit you.

And I got Botox the day before yesterday, and I'm avoiding alcohol because I remember it's not recommended, like it might not take effect. For the second day now, I've been feeling a tingling around my liver area. Actually, my liver is healthy, and I eat right, but I just thought, could these tingling sensations be related to the Botox???

I've been getting Botox for a couple of years now, and I've noticed: if I allow myself even a little alcohol or go to the gym and sauna during the first week after the injection, the Botox doesn't last as long as when I avoid all of the above.
Today I got Botox, tomorrow is my child's birthday, I won't drink because I'm scared, and then there are the May Day holidays. But on Victory Day, I'll drink for the veterans—it'll be the 12th day, so I think it's not a big deal.

I drank on the fourth day. The next morning, my head felt like it was about to burst from the pain. I still think it's because of the Botox.

I had Botox twice. The first time, I consumed a lot of alcohol on the same day, and the Botox lasted almost a year with no side effects. The second time, I didn't consume anything containing alcohol, but the injections only lasted four months... It's confusing...

Our doctors always scare us. Abroad, they only warn about saunas and steam rooms. Otherwise, you can do almost anything. The main thing is not to lie down for 4 hours. These are "lunch break injections." Everything will be fine, girls. The key is not to be afraid and imagine yourself refreshed and rejuvenated. Wishing everyone successful little injections.♡♡♡

Well done, girls, Europe has nothing on us!!!!! I read everything and was cracking up with laughter. I just got my shot yesterday too, and today I'm desperately craving some beer. After reading your comments, I thought that my mood and what my body wants are more important, and if needed, I'll just get another shot...... Well done!

I drank on the 3rd day after the injection, woke up in the morning with a headache thinking I was going to lose it, and nausea like in the 3rd-4th month of pregnancy, and this from just 50g of good vodka with good snacks over the evening. Three Spasmalgon tablets aren't helping, I can't bend my head due to nausea, been drinking apple juice all day. VERY BAD. I don't even care about the results from the injections anymore, just want the headache to go away (drank on Saturday, today is Monday). Take care of yourselves.
