I see there aren't that many comments... Folks, this is anonymous! You're not outcasts, just as unwell as people with pneumonia, for example. I don't believe there aren't any such individuals on the forum. According to statistics, 1 in 128 residents in Russia carries the HIV status...

My neighbour, a local paediatrician, claims that HIV affects more people than statistics show. And the HIV-positive individuals in her district are mostly drug-addicted mothers and their children, with no others present... almost all of them also have hepatitis C.

Well yes, my husband says that 1 in 128 is only those who are registered. And how many more are carriers and don't know about it!

An acquaintance of mine is on the verge of HIV developing into AIDS (he's on therapy) – he contracted it as a minor after experimenting with illegal drugs. But for many years now, he's been living a healthy lifestyle, married a woman with the same condition, and they've had a completely healthy baby boy. They look well, are cheerful and positive, and you'd never guess they have such an illness just by looking at them. None of their friends have turned their backs on them; all their loved ones know and simply take precautions! I had a friend who was dying of cancer – now that was truly awful, whereas with HIV and proper treatment, people can live on.

Every hour in Russia, 10 new HIV-infected individuals appear. So, you can't really engage in casual sex left and right—it's very dangerous, as you might just add to the statistics. I don't indulge in drugs, by the way.

Notice that those who write here are not writing about themselves! That is, it's difficult for a person to admit their illness even anonymously. And in real life, many men, and probably women too, hide their status. My topic is inspired by a post about a girl who had sex, the condom broke, and then she found out he had a status. Now her friend is worried about her and created the topic.

I have HIV, and I don't know how many years I've had it. I had absolutely no idea about anything; I'm not a marginalised person, let alone a drug user or anything like that. Read this thread here called 'HIV, how do you live with it?' It's been on this forum since 2008, and there are so many stories; the thread is very kind, without people like those who commented above! You would never guess in your life that, for example, your friend or mother has this virus, but it's there. Personally, I found out by chance when I needed surgery and they took all the tests. Of course, what I went through in that month when I was told the diagnosis is known only to God. How did I get infected? From someone equally unaware, in a serious relationship.

I've heard that cancer is largely a somatic illness, meaning it comes from nerves, stress, dissatisfaction with life. Take care of yourselves!

What nonsense all this is. What nerves, stress, and dissatisfaction with life do young children have? After all, cancer occurs even in newborns. There's even a type of cancer that only develops in children. I've forgotten what it's called.

From sex, there's practically no other way if you're not a drug addict. Though they say you can get infected during a manicure or at the dentist's, but there are no proven facts, so it's considered that only sex and needles.

Utter nonsense. My aunt had no stress whatsoever, was completely satisfied with life, yet she died of cancer, wasted away in 7 months.

As a long-term AIDS-phobic individual, I've often visited forums for those infected with AIDS. There's a widespread phenomenon of infection that goes like this: a guy with AIDS becomes a girl's boyfriend. They then live together and have unprotected sex. She gets infected by him. The girl asks why he didn't warn her, etc. He responds with something like, 'so you wouldn't leave me,' and similar nonsense. In short, it's intentional infection.

Thank you and good health to you too!!! Well about the nerves even if that's true there's no way out, since in the modern world you can't escape from nerves and stress anyway(((

And why infect someone intentionally? As far as I know there's criminal punishment for that

They've already imprisoned one such person who was causing panic about AIDS, removed them from all positions, and locked them up to set an example.

There is punishment. The infected girls had plans to punish. Don't know how it worked out for them or not. That guys deliberately infect - that's 100% fact.

No way, I don't suffer from that nonsense. I'm normal and sensible, I don't just open my legs for any stranger)) And when it comes to serious relationships, there's no shame in asking for a health certificate either))

Fortunately, I do not have such an illness myself, but I have always felt immense sympathy for people facing this issue. It's not always about drug addiction or promiscuous sexual behaviour. In my city, there was a real case where two people contracted HIV at a private dental clinic. I won't delve into how it was uncovered, but the scandal was huge—the whole city was in an uproar. The dental clinic was shut down, but those affected were left to deal with their problems alone. In our country, there is a lack of understanding and compassion. These individuals often end up as outcasts.

Maybe you're overestimating the number of HIV-infected people on the forum and there just aren't that many of them present here?

It's not that easy to get infected; I know of a case where the wife didn't catch it from her husband.

Let me add: Everyone acts so "righteous and fluffy"! Come on, has no one ever had a casual encounter in their life? I don't buy it. You were just lucky that your partner wasn't infected. But luck doesn't favor everyone, you know? What if your husband or wife strayed with someone yesterday, and their partner was infected? Do you ask for a medical report every time you get close to someone—one that can only detect an infection in the body six months later? It's something to think about: we all walk under God's watchful eye!

I'm also sensible and normal. But a certificate doesn't guarantee that a person is healthy. Because this virus only shows up in blood tests six months after infection. And the carrier could be shagging with their certificate without protection, but in the end it turns out both are already infected.

Cases vary, including ones where people live together for several years and one of them doesn't get infected. And sometimes it happens the first time! There are cases where a girl gets married as a virgin, has only one man in her whole life - her husband - and he, unaware of his illness like many others, passes the virus to her. And the people who commented above are labelling her as a *** or saying she spreads her legs for every passerby!

The prosecutor's office conducted an investigation. They examined all the data: whether there had been surgery, blood transfusions, checked all partners (the people are very respectable), in short, they looked for points of contact where these individuals could have been infected, and thus identified the dental clinic where an infected person had received treatment according to their records. This is described briefly in conversations; I can't give you an exact answer. Well, I suppose to publicize such an accusation and shut down a major clinic, there must have been grounds. By the way, in Podolsk this September, at a blood transfusion station, a case of HIV infection was detected. There's a scandal there too, and a criminal case has been opened. They managed to identify it somehow as well.

There's nothing difficult about putting on a condom. If neither of you is "at rock bottom."

We lived for several years without protection because we only found out when my husband got tested. I want to say that many people live without knowing (few get tested specifically for HIV), so one should never say never.

I don't know how many there are on the forum. I just thought that if 1 in 128 is infected, then by probability theory they should have read the topic, since Woman is very popular. And they did read it! There were replies after all... Unless of course you think that only drug addicts are infected with HIV, who don't even have internet, then yes, there would be few of them here...

I haven't had one, plus I think 3 months is enough anyway, but I'm not saying I'm immune from situations like operations with blood transfusions where they didn't test it and urgently administered it directly... for example.

Ah, I see, I've read it. Thanks... That's how it is. Exes spread it to exes... And it's not necessarily from drug addicts and sluts

To my immense joy, I am in good health and have never suffered from any illness. By chance, a couple of weeks ago, I overheard my neighbour mentioning that he had contracted HIV; he is an alcoholic. I don't know how he contracted it, most likely through sexual contact.

Just the usual, spreading all sorts of rumours, about AIDS and other nonsense. We're a healthy nation, it was only in the wild nineties that there was a lot of that crap, since 2000 it's all been on the decline.

It's just that, for some reason, none of my acquaintances have AIDS, probably because, by a strange coincidence, I don't know any prostitutes or drug addicts.

It's just that the most short-sighted people judge by their acquaintances and can't see beyond their own noses, and they stick labels on people, thinking they're insured against everything, as if they were born with an insurance policy.

So, if a woman sleeps around with everyone, she's not a prostitute, it's just a label that's been stuck on her, and if a bloke shoots up, he's not a drug addict either, just a label. Very tolerant, can't argue with that.

What about HIV, just the other day I found out that my distant cousin's husband died of hepatitis C. He was diagnosed two years ago. In the end, his liver failed and he died, the man was only 42. They never figured out where he caught hepatitis. He wasn't a drug user. They suspect the dentist. I don't know anyone with HIV. A childhood friend of mine, an athlete, recently died of breast cancer at 40. A university classmate also died of cancer at 25.

I don't have any now either, I used to have a boss, everyone said he was ill... And now I realise that when I walk down the street, every one of the 70 sexually mature men/women coming towards me is ill. But you, Vlasievna, have no chance of getting sick, because the country you live in has perfect medicine, it defeated HIV long ago! Stay in your cellar and eat your potatoes and carrots, and sauerkraut there

No one here does that sort of thing, and all sorts get infected, it's just that your thinking is limited to your own little world, that's all.
