Elevated lymphocytes …

Elevated lymphocytes for many years

I've had elevated lymphocytes for over 12 years now. And their count is slowly increasing. I used to not worry about it much, but then I decided to look it up online and it all started. I read about chronic lymphocytic leukemia, where there might be no symptoms for a long time, just a slow increase in lymphocytes with normal other indicators. Doctors sent me for Epstein-Barr virus (infectious mononucleosis) testing. It turned out I had it at some point. Actually, more than half the world's population has had it. But not everyone has lifelong elevated lymphocytes. And growing ones at that. Does anyone else have a similar situation?

What are the indicators in absolute numbers? i.e., not in percentages.

In the most recent analysis, 56 (19-37). Segmented neutrophils are low—36.

I don't know where to look for it not in percentages.

Total white blood cell count - 4.9; red blood cells - 4.54; hemoglobin - 138; band neutrophils - 2; segmented neutrophils - 36; eosinophils - 1; lymphocytes - 56; monocytes - 5; ESR - 7.

Your absolute lymphocyte count of 2.74 is normal. Don't worry, always consider the absolute lymphocyte count (cells), not the relative percentage (in %).

Thank you very much. In principle, the hematologist thinks so too. However, she still referred me to Kashirka to do some complex test that's only done there. I understand she's being cautious, but the fact itself doesn't add optimism. They found antibodies to the Epstein-Barr virus in me. Lymphocytosis is always present with it. But what's confusing is that almost everyone has had it, often mistaking it for tonsillitis, but not everyone has lifelong lymphocytosis. Moreover, it's increasing. I'd like to understand the cause, since I've finally decided to address this after so many years.)

Could you please explain, without getting too technical, how to calculate the absolute number? The lab results only show percentages.

Multiply the total white blood cell count by the percentage from the leukocyte formula. In this case, 4.9 * 0.56 = 2.74. Do this for all cell types. Lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, band neutrophils, segmented neutrophils—these are all white blood cells. Look it up online for a clearer understanding. Don't panic, and best wishes for your health!

And could you please look at mine? I'm so worried, I've read so much online about leukemias, my hair is standing on end. I'm already lying here with blood clots in my leg, I'm running out of nerves.

My lymphocytes are 49, monocytes 13, glutamyltransferase 53, platelets 39, by Fonio 48, monocytes 49, ESR 60. What should I do? Could this really be cancer?

Hello. I have elevated lymphocytes at 18 years old, and neutrophils are low. The readings fluctuate back and forth from 50 to 75 percent. I've seen various doctors. I went to Germany, and a doctor there said that he monitors people with elevated lymphocytes until they are 25 years old. He said, "Live and don't worry," there is no treatment here.

I have the same thing. How are you doing now? I had elevated anti-TPO antibodies at one point, and then they returned to normal. Could autoimmune processes be to blame for everything? I'm currently taking curcumin; it reduces inflammatory processes in the body. I'm not sure what else I can do to help my body.

I also have elevated lymphocytes, before they were 38-39% which was considered all normal, I got really sick with herpes, a month later lymphocytes were up to 65%, leukocytes 7.2, abs 4.6. Three months later I retested, lymphocytes 70, leukocytes 10, the therapist sent me to retest, retested a week later lymphocytes 48, leukocytes 7.5, abs 3.6. I went to a hematologist on my own, now they sent me for lymphocyte IFT. Panic! And the therapists thought everything was fine. They didn't even pay attention.

Where can you see that it's 2.74 in absolute value? Please tell me. In my test today, for the first time, lymphocytes are 43.7% in percentage, I took it during my period while sniffling—how much is that in absolute value?

And how do you feel with this? I've had this temperature for the second month, sky-high lymphocytes, terrible weakness, I've been lying down all this time. They haven't found the cause yet; in three days, I'm going for a CT scan with contrast.

Good afternoon, everyone. I'm in the same situation; I'm 23 years old. For the third year now, my lymphocytes have been rising to 70%, and neutrophils are at 25%. I've been to all the hospitals, spent a lot of money, and doctors can't find the cause. The hematologist is sending me for a bone marrow puncture.

Lymphocytes 47.8%
Leukocytes 5.21
Your absolute value is normal. Your 5.21×0.478 (which is your 47.8%) = 2.49, reference range is 1 to 4.8. You always need to look at the absolute value.
