BURNING sensation in …

BURNING sensation in the mouth. My tongue is on fire!

Hello everyone. Fellow 'unfortunate friends', please respond. This burning in my mouth is driving me mad( It bothered me for two months. Then it went away for about two weeks. I felt human again. And now it's back. All my tests are normal. No candida, no bacteria, nothing like that. I don't even know what to think anymore( maybe it's an allergy? That's the last thing that comes to mind🤷🏼♀️ I've read through so many forums. I'm not the only one suffering from this( and people don't know the solution or the cause of this ailment( If anyone has encountered this and found a way to deal with it, please, help with some advice. Externally, the oral cavity looks completely fine. But the tongue itself (and sometimes the palate) feels like it's been sandpapered.. it burns/ stings..

Is there any chance of anaemia?

Does it pass during a meal or not?

Try taking Allochol for a course. It helped me, and the cause was related to the gallbladder.

Actually, right when I'm eating - it's better. It subsides. And then again.. 😕 I've tried gargling with chamomile, and sucked sage-eucalyptus lozenges.. It's problematic to talk ( it's like my mouth dries out when speaking.

Your gallbladder is acting up. Go see a general practitioner or a gastroenterologist and get treatment.

Could be bile reflux. It might not just be the tongue tingling. That's bile.

Thank you very much. I'll give it a try. I'll get my gallbladder checked.

Thank you so much. I'll definitely go. Last year in September they scared me: said there was suspicion of pancreatitis. I was on a diet for 4 months. Took Omez and something else. Then had a gastroscopy. Everything was fine. Then had an ultrasound too. Everything was fine then as well. Maybe something's changed since then(( I'll get checked.

What's more, they gave me a choice between Ursosan or Allochol, I bought the first one (the more expensive one, thinking it would work faster). Nothing of the sort! Didn't help at all. But Allochol is brilliant. Just need to complete the course, but not stay on it constantly, take breaks, otherwise your gallbladder will 'refuse' to work altogether. Now I've had no burning for two months, it's a completely different life. Good luck!

Good afternoon, I have exactly the same problem. Could you advise if you've managed to resolve it somehow?

Good afternoon, I have been experiencing a burning sensation in my tongue for a year now, as if I drank boiling water, pain behind the breastbone, occasional temperature rises to 37.0, and weakness. I've had numerous tests done, which showed slightly elevated GGT, small gallstones up to 0.7mm, normal thyroid function, and an endoscopy revealed reflux esophagitis! I completed a course of treatment prescribed by a gastroenterologist with no results, then consulted a neurologist who also prescribed treatment. All without success. I no longer know where to turn; perhaps someone can advise what to do with this unclear illness!!!!

It's nerves! If everything with your GI tract is normal, then it's definitely nerves. I've had the same nonsense myself for two weeks...

Try propolis (from the pharmacy) with goat's milk: 150g of milk and 10 drops of propolis, in the morning before eating and in the evening before bed. I've suffered from this burning sensation in my mouth for many years because I have GERD + esophagitis, and my stomach hurts too. For the past week, I've had some relief. I'm afraid to jinx it. Look up this topic on the website and read about it yourself.

I have healed my stomach, but my tongue hasn't recovered, and the left side of my palate is constantly inflamed, as well as the tonsils on the left. It can't be that only the left side of my mouth is sore. My tongue feels as if it's raw, with teeth marks and a burning sensation.

I've got exactly the same thing, only on the right side. I've done a swab culture from my tonsils - waiting for the results. How are you treating yours?

I had a culture test done, and everything is fine. I was tested for all types of herpes (Epstein-Barr, etc.), and I also had an HIV test—all normal. They recommended taking a deep scraping from the throat and tongue, not just a cotton swab smear, but specifically a deep scraping with a wooden spatula. I haven't done that yet.

Laser therapy helps me somewhat; an orthopedist administers it for me, three times for three minutes each. The papillae on my tongue have become smaller and a bit more comfortable. However, all rinses, compresses, and similar treatments don't help.

They also suggested taking Iodomarin, but I'm hesitant because my thyroid is fine and my hormone levels are normal. Oh, and Stomatofit provides relief—I can't go to sleep without it. I apply it to the inflamed gums, palate, and tongue.

I've got the same problem - it's not there while I'm eating and for 15-20 minutes afterwards, then it comes back again. What is this?

I've been suffering for 3 years. I've seen all the doctors, they can't find anything, I don't know what to do anymore. I'm going crazy already. I sleep poorly at night. I wake up because everything stings

Three years, bloody hell, surely we can't be the only ones going to doctors, that they don't know about this plague. Surely people with this rubbish don't come to them.

By the way, my temperature also periodically rises to 37 or 37.2 degrees, and I can really feel it—I get hot flushes and start feeling unwell. I apply Lugol's solution to my throat every day and use Kamistad gel on my tongue and palate where it burns; it's a gel for stomatitis. But by morning, it's all back again. I've heard this can happen with cervical osteochondrosis too. I've also read up about lichen planus, an autoimmune nuisance triggered by nerves, which is supposedly lifelong—it subsides and then flares up again. Doctors recommend boosting immunity, getting enough sleep, exercising, and avoiding stress.

Hello. From all the symptoms, it appears to be glossitis. Perhaps you have unhealthy gums, or your teeth are not in good condition. I'm currently suffering from this affliction as well. You can rinse your mouth with chlorhexidine, dissolve Lizobact tablets, and also use a ready-made gum balm for rinsing. Patience to us! Stay healthy! ))

I've noticed it gets worse just before my period.

Leptothrix test. Specifically, microscopy for Leptothrix from the mouth, not a culture. Precisely microscopy. It's hard to treat. It's resistant to most things. It's a pathogen.
I don't know what to do myself yet. I've called companies that handle treatment abroad; they promise to help, saying I need to go to Germany, claiming they can't help me in Russia. Honestly, I've been to the best doctors. Apart from prescribing strong steroids, I achieved nothing. Guys, this isn't neurological, and there's no need to see neurologists or psychiatrists, which is where everyone usually sends you. I suspect the flora was disrupted, or after taking antibiotics, this Leptothrix took over everything. It prevents the flora from recovering. It can destroy teeth over time. Cause sepsis. Read up on it.

Thanks for sharing your story. I've read that one of the symptoms is white coating on the root of the tongue and tonsils. Do you have that? Mine is just that my tongue is clean.

I don't have tonsils. There's a white coating on my tongue. There's more of it at the root of my tongue.

I've been living with this affliction for three years; men have it too—I know two from forums—so it's not related to menstrual cycles. Its name is glossolgia.

I'm being treated by a neurologist.
It constantly hurts and never goes away?

Goodness, which doctors have you been seeing? This is a classic case of glossodynia. If you've consulted every doctor, taken all the vitamins, and there are no issues in your oral cavity, then it's time to see a psychiatrist or neurologist, as this condition falls under their purview. No, you're not mentally ill; it's a disorder that is specifically treated by psychiatrists with antidepressants. From what I understand, the differential diagnosis has been done. Moreover, all your symptoms disappear while eating.

Only your comment gives me hope. Did you get cured? Was the treatment long?
