Ovarian cyst rupture!

Ovarian cyst rupture!

As it happened, I ended up in hospital on the third day, the pain wasn't severe. The doctor said I was lucky, we'll treat it without surgery using tablets. Like, everything will resolve on its own. I've been lying here for 2 days already and it really hardly hurts anymore. Can this really be true? As far as I know, such things are only treated surgically.

Is an ovarian cyst rupture treated with tablets??????? I won't comment on your doctor's professionalism. But... I had this happen when I was 20. Thought I was going to die. The cyst burst (I didn't know I had it) during sex. Felt a sharp pain, but it quickly passed. We even went for a walk after intercourse. Six hours later, I started losing consciousness. There wasn't much pain, but I had a pre-fainting state, some other symptoms (won't describe them), but not as significant. We called an ambulance. The doctor said another couple of hours and they wouldn't have made it in time. Bleeding started due to the rupture, and blood poured into the abdominal cavity. After the operation, three days in intensive care... Barely recovered. Then I've been suffering from adhesions my whole life... Anyway, that's my story. Maybe yours is different? But if the diagnosis is exactly that, then... I've never heard of it being treated with tablets alone(( A friend of mine had the same thing, also had an operation.

I also had a cyst on one side... the doctor prescribed pills... and it dissolved... but then one appeared on the other side... I was told it would keep appearing, sometimes on one side, sometimes on the other...((

Guest 1, I'm also just stunned – they always perform surgery when something like this happens. On the other hand, today the pain is only felt when pressing hard. I'm not fainting. So, recovery really is happening. Probably. Anyway, I'm in a state of confusion.

You simply have a cyst, not a "ruptured cyst". These are two different things. A cyst is treated with medication to reduce inflammation, possibly antibiotics, and then hormonal contraceptives...

I had a ruptured cyst after sex and was rushed into surgery immediately; blood entered the abdominal cavity, otherwise I would have died. But perhaps in your case, the blood came out externally, or it wasn't a rupture at all, just a cyst?
Гость
#6
No, it's specifically a rupture, there's fluid in the pelvic cavity, isn't there? There's none in the abdominal cavity. Probably just a small amount of fluid.
#7
I can't say for 100%, but there are two types:

1. Blood goes into the abdominal cavity

2. Blood remains in the perimetrial space and doesn't spread anywhere

And apparently, the second case doesn't require surgery

But this is just from general knowledge; I'm not a doctor, so I don't know for sure

Hello. I'm currently in hospital. Here's what happened – I was having sex with my partner when suddenly there was a sharp pain. (I didn't know about the cyst.) I came home thinking I was going to die; the pain was excruciating. We called an ambulance – it turned out to be a ruptured cyst and internal bleeding in the abdominal cavity. They performed emergency surgery, and I was in intensive care. They said if I'd waited another day, that would have been the end for me. It's all so frightening, girls...((

I was diagnosed with a functional cyst after visiting a gynaecologist due to lower abdominal pain, and I was prescribed tablets; that was yesterday. By evening, I experienced sharp pains in my lower abdomen but didn't call an ambulance, and then it subsided. Today, I'm feeling okay, though I do have a pulling sensation in my lower abdomen... What should I do?!

Girls, what kind of discharge did you have after the operation (around the 10th day)??

I recently had a rupture of a cyst in my left ovary, also after sexual intercourse. It happened in the evening; suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen (or rather, lower down). I spent the next half-day sitting with this pain, hoping it would pass, but my family persuaded me to go to the hospital. At the hospital, I saw a gynaecologist who actually performed an ultrasound (!!!) and said it was a ruptured cyst and that I needed to be admitted for a drip and to take some tablets. I was admitted that evening, and the next morning, while waiting for an injection outside the treatment room, I started feeling unwell. By then, the gynaecologist who had examined me had already left, and a different one (a woman) came. She took me for another ultrasound, and after doing it, she practically swore while recalling the other doctor and said that an urgent operation was necessary. So, just an hour later, I had it done as an emergency procedure. I was very lucky; if I had stayed at home longer or just received the drip in the hospital, it could have led to body toxicity.

I'm glad the operation was done immediately—there was no time or energy to get worked up and anxious beforehand. I came round the same day and was able to get up on my own by the evening. After six days, I was discharged home. I'll never take chances with my health again and will go to the doctor at the slightest sign of trouble. Better to be safe than sorry.

I'm currently in the hospital after a ruptured cyst in my left ovary, and blood entered the abdominal cavity... I had surgery... It's been 6 days now, and my temperature remains at 37.5-37.3°C without dropping... My abdomen hurts specifically on the right side... I don't know what to think... The doctor will only come on Monday.

I had a ruptured cyst in my right ovary. It all happened after intercourse. I suddenly felt hot, had pain in my lower abdomen, and felt nauseous. I couldn't even move my legs. When I was taken to the hospital, they told me that I had internal bleeding in my abdominal cavity. They performed an emergency operation. Now I'm lying in the hospital and still don't know what they removed and what they didn't. The doctors aren't giving me any clear information :-(

I'm 17 years old. I had a ruptured cyst in my right ovary. During intercourse, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen. I thought it was just before my period (I always have pain then). We didn't call an ambulance. I suffered all night... the pain would stop and then start again. I barely made it to the morning... when I started to get up, I felt dizzy, nauseous, feverish, and nearly fainted... I couldn't even go to the toilet... We called an ambulance, and they said it was appendicitis... but when I was taken to the hospital, they did an ultrasound and found out it was a cyst and that some sort of stalks had twisted... They quickly took all the tests and rushed me into surgery... I only had time to call my mum, and she rushed over immediately... They gave me an injection in my back, and the operation lasted two hours. Afterwards, I spent 10 days in the hospital, and no one told me anything... When I was being discharged, they said that the cyst had ruptured and blood had entered the abdominal cavity (and I had wondered why there was a tube in my stomach with a bag at the end—apparently, it was for the remaining blood to drain out). In the end, they removed one of my ovaries... Now I'm taking hormones...

I also had a ruptured cyst. The bleeding started, and by the third day, it became so unbearable that we called an ambulance. I was hospitalized, but nothing happened... I wasn't treated with anything, and they didn't know what was wrong with me... So I lay there for a week, not allowed to eat or drink much, and in the end, after a week, the doctors finally took action and performed surgery on me. That's just how it goes. I left the hospital severely exhausted as well.

Girls, I understand you all so well. In 2010, I also had a cyst rupture. My stomach started hurting badly at night. Then I waited until morning and took a Ketanol pill, then a second, and a third, but nothing helped. I went outside and fainted, and then it was the hospital and surgery. Histology showed it was an endometrioid cyst. After that, they prescribed hormones. And in February 2011, the same ovary ruptured again, and another surgery—I just can't take it anymore, and I'm only 27 years old, and back on hormones. I feel very unwell and don't know how to go on living with all this. I'm afraid of everything. There hasn't been a day when I haven't thought about it. I really want a child, and now I don't even know if I'll be able to have one or not.

Girls, you can definitely have children after such surgeries! Don't even worry, with proper treatment and keeping yourself in good shape, you can give birth to a child, and what a wonderful one at that!))) I'm 26 years old and had ovarian cyst apoplexy, SECONDARY!!!! I ended up on the operating table for the second time in an emergency!!!! The first time was at 22, and now at 26, just like that, and I was even operated on by the same surgeons and the same operating team in the same hospital. Thank God they didn't remove anything, but the second time, I guessed from the symptoms what was causing my abdominal pain and endured it for 3 days, knowing what a major surgery is like, hoping it would go away on its own, and almost ended up with peritonitis. Luckily, it wasn't much, only 350 ml of blood spilled into my abdomen. The first time was a VERY severe blood loss of about 1.5 liters—and that happened in just a few minutes. I couldn't bear the pain then; I was just dying quickly, very quickly. I was very fortunate that both the first and second times, I ended up with very good doctors who operated promptly and even used cosmetic stitches, preserving my organs. Girls! This is a very serious topic, and for years I've been wondering about the causes of these cysts appearing and rupturing—I still haven't found an answer. Hormonal imbalances, maybe inflammations, or even physical exertion, especially during ovulation, can trigger a cyst rupture, but as for their formation... anyway, take care of yourselves! Regular gynecological check-ups, get your hormones tested, avoid inflammatory processes, constant monitoring if you're prone to cysts—AND EVEN THAT WON'T GUARANTEE you won't have a recurrence, a cyst rupture, and another surgery—all over again: general anesthesia, cutting out the old scar, and everything from scratch, and it could happen many, many times... After this second surgery, I'm in utter confusion—might even need to see a psychologist..... I wish everyone to stay healthy!

A month ago, I had surgery, same story... After sex, a cyst ruptured in my left ovary, there was blood in my abdomen and the posterior space. After the operation, I was bedridden for a week and was prescribed Yarina birth control pills. But at a follow-up consultation with my local doctor, she said Novinet would be better! I started taking it from the first day of my period, and a day after it ended, I had sex with my boyfriend and started bleeding, pinkish at that... Then it was just spotting. I suspect it's from the pills, but what if something serious happens? I'm only supposed to go for an ultrasound after finishing the first month of pills. Girls, if you're choosing pills based on tests, is it a lot of fuss and tests?

Girls, I understand you so well... I've been suffering from this my whole life – one time it's apoplexy, another time it's a cyst. I already know every gynaecologist in town. I had surgery... and was put on a drip two more times! Yes, that happens too! There are good doctors out there! I ended up in hospital after taking a bath – I swung one leg over and screamed in pain... I lay for three days with a temperature of 39 and cried... Then my relatives transferred me to a good hospital where I stayed for 22 days. They injected me with Metrogyl, antibiotics, Diclofenac, vitamins, induced my period, gave me calcium chloride, magnesium – but they saved my ovary. They also inserted tampons, which were covered in blood and pus in the morning. Please, take care of yourselves from a young age! And I don't even want to remember the surgery – the doctor pressed in the emergency room and the cyst burst... Now I have adhesions for life, pain, and only one healthy ovary... Cysts are such a nuisance; they pop up here and there. As it was explained to me, there's a predisposition to them, and one of the causes could be the thyroid... Today, I had severe pain down there again – but it's eased off now... and men don't understand, it's upsetting... Tomorrow I'm going for an ultrasound to check for fluid. And then, when my period comes – it's back on hormones for six months...

Please help me. Three days ago after intercourse, I experienced a sharp pain in my lower abdomen, dizziness, and fainting, so we called an ambulance. The doctor diagnosed me with ovarian apoplexy. I was taken to the hospital, but the pain went away, and due to the staff's rude and unclear remarks, I refused hospitalisation. No one explained to me what it was or how it could end. A day later, I went to see my gynaecologist and had an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed that I had a ruptured ovarian cyst. The doctor prescribed Metronidazole for me and told me to come back in 10 days. Is this normal? In all the chaos, I didn't really ask anything, but when I got home and read about it online, I was horrified. Now I have a temperature of 37.5°C.

Two days ago, everything was the same for me; during sex, I had a sharp pain, couldn't straighten up, sat on the floor, felt hot and cold flashes, tried to stand up, my knees were shaking, I felt nauseous, dizzy, and nearly fainted. We didn't call an ambulance; the next day was better, so I went to a private clinic, had an ultrasound, and they said it seemed like a cyst had burst. I also had a delayed period, and my period started in the morning. Today, I went to the local clinic, and they told me it seemed like I had caught a chill, and possibly a cyst had burst, but that I got off lightly, nothing serious, and prescribed some pills. But in the evening, I realised that maybe it's not my period; it almost stopped, and something came out, like a burst bubble of mucous, transparent-beige with blood... Is it bleeding? I'm really scared; should I go to the doctor again tomorrow or what should I do?

After a cyst rupture, doctors at an expensive clinic also prescribed a bunch of antibiotics, Metrogyl, calcium chloride, Milgamma, Diclofenac, Diflucan intravenously. And tablets like Tavanic and a few others. I had to go to them for 5 days to get this done. Tell me, is it possible to treat a rupture with such treatment? It's specifically a rupture, not just a cyst. There was severe pain, a bit of bleeding... but now, after reading everything, I feel somewhat uneasy!..

I understand that they prescribed you this treatment to reabsorb the fluid that came out during the rupture, and in the future, they should prescribe hormones to prevent it from happening again. That's what they do for me.///

Ladies, sweethearts, there are different types of cyst ruptures, all depending on their location! I experienced this unpleasant thing a few hours ago... Being a nurse myself, I felt unwell during my shift, just as described above. I went for an ultrasound, and it showed a cyst. While waiting for my gynaecologist, it burst. Since it was a follicular cyst, the bleeding was into the ovary, not into the abdominal cavity... So, if the bleeding isn't into the abdominal cavity, it's treated with IV drips and tablets! Which is exactly what I started doing this evening. Take care of yourselves, girls!!! They immediately advised testing for STIs, as inflammation could cause a cyst, or it might be due to thin ovarian walls or a predisposition to them. Stay healthy!

I'm 20 years old and currently being treated for a cyst on my right ovary with Duphaston. I often have severe pain, and on the day of my period, the pain was terrible—I even woke up from it! It got a bit better later, but I didn't go to the hospital. I didn't have any of the other symptoms mentioned, but now after reading, I'm really scared(

Ugh... it seems everything is standard... the same for me. Intercourse, wild pain, pressure on the anus... For two days, I proudly suffered at home, expecting the terrible aching and sharp pains to go away on their own!! It's scary to go to the doctors... it's nerves, fear that they'll do everything wrong and not what's needed, a pile of money, sick leave at a new job, etc... But it was impossible to endure any longer, so I called the local ambulance, and they asked me: "What do you want from us?" I said, I want an ultrasound... Laughter on the line: "What? An ultrasound? It's Sunday, girl, and it's not certain we'll take you to the hospital... and even then, it's not certain they'll do an ultrasound for you there." After such a splendid conversation, I went with my husband to a private women's clinic, from which we were both taken in a white-and-red "ambulance" car... In the hospital, they "told me off" for not calling an ambulance on the first day and said they would now have to operate on me... So now I'm lying here with a cold compress on my belly, two injections in my butt, and antibiotics in my stomach, waiting for the verdict!....... The moral of this story is, girls, we pay quite a lot into the budget for health insurance and social security! These amounts, I tell you as an accountant, are not small!!! Don't be afraid to go to hospitals and stand up for yourselves!! No one needs us except ourselves!

Hello, my name is Olga, and I'm from Israel. About a month ago, after intercourse, a cyst on my first ovary ruptured. Initially, there was severe pain accompanied by diarrhoea, and it got to the point where I couldn't lie down, sit, or stand—only remain in a semi-bent position until we reached the hospital. The doctors took a long time to determine whether it was a ruptured cyst or pelvic inflammation because there was a lot of fluid inside. The bleeding continued and became so severe that I started to suffocate as the blood rose to my lungs. A couple of hours later, I had surgery, and finally, all the terrible pain ended. Ladies, make sure to visit your gynaecologist every month and get checked, because health is the most important thing! :)

A very familiar situation indeed ((( I've had a cyst rupture twice. The first time was 4 years ago. After intercourse, my stomach started hurting, and I was in such agony I thought I was going to die. We called an ambulance, arrived at the hospital, they did a puncture and found blood, and an hour later I was in surgery. Then I stayed for 5 days and was discharged. And it would have been alright, but a week ago, again after intercourse... pain... ambulance... hospital... puncture... but! This time, there wasn't blood in the peritoneum, but fluid. The doctor waited for it to drain out and said that since there was no blood, surgery wasn't necessary. He only prescribed painkillers and haemostatics. After 4 days, I was discharged... now my right side is terribly painful and it's not getting any better... I'm scared... tomorrow I'm going to the women's clinic for an appointment. I hope everything will be alright.

This morning after intercourse, I had severe stomach pain. I took two tablets thinking it would go away, but no, it didn't. I called an ambulance, and they brought me to the hospital. They ran all the tests, and by then, my stomach pain had subsided, only hurting when I urinated. They admitted me to the hospital, and the doctor said it was a ruptured ovarian cyst with internal bleeding. Of course, I was in shock and asked what to do, as I wasn't bleeding externally. They told me they'd give me an injection to prevent bleeding and that the doctor would see me tomorrow. Horrifying!!! Girls, what should I do? The stories I've heard from the ward here are just awful... brrr.

So after the surgery, I had a wild pain in my lower abdomen, couldn't straighten up at all, first felt hot then cold, almost lost consciousness, and for some reason, I couldn't feel my hands. I took "MIG," and after another 10-15 minutes of twisting and turning, the pain started to subside. I didn't call an ambulance. In the morning, I got up as if nothing had happened. I went to a private clinic. The doctor just examined me, I described my condition from the night, and she said it was most likely a ruptured cyst, that it's nothing serious, like, well, it ruptured, so be it. Now here I am, sitting, reading, and thinking... who should I run to.

I am 20 years old. A year ago, I had an ovarian cyst rupture. It all happened after intercourse. At first, my stomach started to hurt, but the pain was still bearable. I suffered from around 1 a.m. until 7 a.m.—my sleep was interrupted, and I couldn't turn over... In the morning, I couldn't even get up (I needed to go to work). My stomach became as big as if I were pregnant and was pulsating intensely. Around 8, someone called an ambulance for me. When they arrived, they suspected appendicitis, but when I mentioned that it all happened after intercourse, they said it was an ectopic pregnancy... I almost went crazy. With my last bit of strength, I got up and went to the bathroom... and fainted there. They dragged me back to the bed and gave me smelling salts. On the way to the hospital and while there, I fainted about six times! At the hospital, they examined me on the chair, then performed a puncture... I woke up on the operating table. They told me there was a lot of blood in my abdominal cavity and that they were going to operate. The surgery lasted about three hours... The recovery period was tough; it was as if I had to learn to walk again, and I couldn't stand up or sit without a lot of pain. They saved me in time, and I was told that if it had been another 1-2 hours, it would have been too late... Now the scar has healed, and everything is wonderful))))) I just don't know how I'll be able to give birth in the future... naturally or by C-section....

Hello, ladies. Apologies for stepping into your space, but I have this issue... I've just finished my military service and while I was away, I found out that my beloved had an ovarian cyst rupture. Can you tell me, does this always happen during sex or can it occur on its own? I'm really worried that my darling didn't wait for me. Please, no solidarity towards her) Thanks in advance, you're a moral support.

As the doctor explained, this occurs after surgery at a time when the immune system is weakened.

Not at all! A cyst can rupture from simple exertion, like lifting something heavy, exercising, and so on. Or a cyst might burst simply due to its large size. After sexual intercourse, a woman's immune system isn't weakened; on the contrary, it's strengthened! A rupture can occur after intercourse just as it might from physical strain, but it's by no means inevitable! However, the formation of cysts is a hormonal issue; it happens in young women when it's time for childbirth, but if they aren't even sexually active—that's one of the causes of cysts. So, no, dear Alexander, don't let your mind be troubled by suspicions of your girlfriend's infidelity over a cyst rupture, that's for sure. I've had two myself, and neither burst from sexual activity. One ruptured from lifting a heavy object.

Hello! I'm 20 years old. A year ago, I had a ruptured ovarian cyst. At 2 a.m. from Saturday to Sunday, we called an ambulance because I was in excruciating pain, bleeding, starting to lose consciousness, and vomiting. After explaining everything to the paramedic and showing that I was bleeding, he calmly said, "You've got a chilled bladder, go to the hospital," gave me some painkillers, and left. By morning, my husband had to dress me because I couldn't do anything myself. We arrived at the hospital, and I was operated on urgently. The doctor said if I had been brought in at night, surgery could have been avoided!!! They saved my ovary and said I would be able to have children. But a year has passed, and the cyst still comes and goes, with periodic pains. Doctors say I need to have a baby, that after childbirth, the body will readjust and everything will be fine. But the problem is, I just can't seem to get pregnant!!!

Hello, girls! I'm also 20, and it's the same story: after intercourse, I had severe lower abdominal pain. I couldn't stand up, let alone move my legs. I only made it to the hospital the next day, and the surgeon immediately told me it was internal bleeding. I was so scared. They referred me to a gynaecologist, who said everything was fine. Long story short, girls, don't delay with this... I kept putting off going to the hospital, thinking it would pass on its own, but in the end, they barely saved me! A cyst on my right ovary had ruptured, I lost a lot of blood, and the surgery lasted 3 hours. I spent 10 days in the hospital and only just got home today. The incision hurts, my stomach aches, I can only lie on my back—when I turn on my side, everything inside stabs sharply. It's all so frightening! Now my boyfriend and I are afraid to even think about sex, let alone have it! And I don't know how I'll be able to get pregnant now, since my ovary was affected. Take care of yourselves, girls! We're future mothers, after all. Wishing everyone good health.

Hello, ladies. For three days, I had a pulling pain in the lower right abdomen and thought it might be appendicitis, but yesterday I visited a gynaecologist and they discovered a 7-centimetre cyst. At first, they wanted to send me for surgery, but after consulting with the head of the department, they decided to hold off for now. Then, just before going to bed, the pain in my lower abdomen intensified, not on the right but in the centre. The pain was bearable, and I felt fine otherwise. This morning, I woke up with no pain at all, neither on the right nor in the centre. I haven't taken any medication. Could you please tell me what this might have been? Did the cyst dissolve or burst? I'm scared and don't know what to do....(((( Thank you all so much in advance.

Hello, my friend experienced the same situation: a sharp pain in the lower abdomen after intercourse. We immediately called an ambulance, all tests were done, and it turned out to be a ruptured cyst. She was operated on a couple of hours later; the cyst was removed, and the blood was drained. I'm very worried about the consequences, please explain in detail: what, how, and for how long the treatment will be, and what the consequences might be. I've read a lot and am very concerned. The operation went well.

Hello girls, now I'll tell you my story. On the evening of October 26th, I had a bit to drink, after which my lower abdomen started cramping badly. We called an ambulance, they examined me and sent me to the hospital by ambulance. They put me on the chair, poked and prodded, did a puncture, and the blood was dark burgundy. Well, I didn't understand what was going on, but they said, "We're going to operate..." I was in shock, they put a catheter in my arm, and I went into hysterics—where are you going to cut, what's the matter? They said it was a ruptured ovary. I was in shock, and we had been drinking earlier in the day for a birthday. The anesthesiologist comes in, and I must say, he was in the same state as I was after the birthday party))) In short, I ran away from that hospital in hysterics, causing a huge fuss, and they shouted after me, "Fool, you'll die in an hour..." My husband was in a panic trying to drag me back, but I wouldn't have it... We got home, put ice on my stomach, and went to sleep... I woke up alive) Since we don't have ultrasound available on Sundays in our town, I postponed it until Monday... When I went to the lady for the ultrasound, I told her the story, that a day and a half ago they diagnosed me with a ruptured ovary and blood in the peritoneum... And she looks at me and says... "Hmm, so what, you're still alive?" and laughs))) I must say, of course, I found it funny, but at the same time, I realized I had run away at my own risk. They did the ultrasound, and it turned out—well, not exactly—it was ovarian inflammation, and most likely, the corpus luteum had burst or something like that)... Well, in short, I have another ultrasound ahead on Friday, but I'm glad I listened to my body and didn't let them cut who knows what out of me))) And besides, I have more pain on the left side, and they were planning to cut on the right... So that's the story... Don't get sick, girls, and get an ultrasound once a year) Then nothing will just burst like that for anyone) Good luck!!!

I'm 15. A cyst was found on my right ovary at the regular clinic, so my mum and I booked an appointment at a private one. We went there three days later. They said the cyst had burst. I didn't have any pain or anything like that. But now (well, maybe I've just been overthinking after reading your messages) I have a slight pain in my lower abdomen. I'm really scared. I look like I'm 12. I haven't had my period, not even once.
