CYSTITIS is just …

CYSTITIS is just driving me mad!!!

Lovely ladies! Anyone who's suffered from this rubbish, tell me which medicine is most effective. In 3 months it's the second time I'm suffering, I took furadonin, but it just dulls the pain for a certain time. And I want to get rid of this ***** completely! Please tell me, what helped you and how often you suffer from this. What a nuisance—wouldn't wish it on anyone!!! Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. As soon as I started having a sex life, this ailment appeared immediately. I've asked the gynaecologist several times, they say it happens. You mustn't catch a chill, you need to take care of yourself. Don't sit on cold surfaces, and so on. And sometimes it's so painful that I have to spend the whole day at home. Occasionally, a little blood comes out with the urine and the pain is terrible. That's my problem too! I'd like to find out what remedies exist for this myself.

Girls, go to a professional gynaecologist and urologist; they will take your tests. You might have chlamydia, ureaplasma, or mycoplasma, or perhaps something else. My illness also started with cystitis, about a month after I began my sexual life. I suffered for 3–4 months; they flushed my urethra with a catheter, and then it turned out I had chlamydia. In short, it was awful; I was treated with antibiotics for so long... Anyway, go to a good doctor; they will refer you, and these outdated medicines like furazolidone and furadonin are useless. Good medications are Rovamycin, Abaktal, Roxithromycin, etc. You need to be treated with them for 20 days.

You must definitely go to a urologist!!! They will prescribe what you need to take. I had cystitis along with pyelonephritis. It was awful. I was peeing blood. So you can't delay. They prescribed Biseptol (I don't remember the dosage) and Phytolysin. A cranberry decoction (you can use the leaves) also helps a lot.

Phytolysin - the best medicine.

I also suffered from this terribly. I went to a doctor in the US and they explained to me why it happens. During sexual intercourse, bacteria from the vagina (which are supposed to be there) can enter the urinary tract, and that's how cystitis occurs. To avoid it, it's necessary to urinate after every sexual act; it cleanses the urinary tract and prevents bacteria from multiplying. And now, since you already have them there, you need to take antibiotics, and it will all pass.

Exhausted. First rule. Go see a urologist. The doctor will prescribe you medication. Second. If you've caught this virus, you must not get cold; always dress warmly on the lower half. At the first signs of cystitis, drink herbal teas (bearberry, corn silk (the latter is less effective)). It's a nasty illness, but with proper warmth management, you can live with it.

What are the symptoms of cystitis?

Phytolysin and blueberries (they prevent pathogenic microbes from settling on the walls of the bladder). But it's better to see a doctor.

Victoria, frequent and painful urination.

Oh, don't even mention it, it's the absolute worst. And as for the urologist... When I had this problem, I went to make an appointment—had to wait a whole month. I probably would have died. I just went to the pharmacy, and they gave me something. But generally—once you're cured—wear slippers, don't sit on cold surfaces, and avoid tight underwear. And as soon as the first signs appear, drink chamomile tea and warm up in a hot bath.

Thank you, everyone! But it's impossible to dress warmly in the summer as well. Or perhaps you're still bundling up now, but I guess you'll have to. And by the way, does anyone know a really great urologist in Moscow?

Actually, cystitis is often a symptom of some underlying illness... it could even be a sexually transmitted disease. Go see a gynaecologist, get some tests done, and then it will be clearer.

Girls, thank you for the advice. To Ananimus: yes, I think you're right. I also read something like that here recently. And indeed, I sometimes have it the day after intercourse. It lasts one day, then goes away. I think that might just be the reason. Because I've been to the gynaecologist. The tests seem normal. I think this version fits just right. Anyway, I'm wearing socks at home now.

By the way, if the admin doesn't delete my message, I recommend finding an article about cystitis on kleo.ru. Either in England or Europe, they have just started performing an operation (described as not complicated) with a golden thread. Perhaps soon it will appear here too. Those who have undergone this operation are satisfied with the result.

Hi girls, a month ago I had a cystitis. As you wrote above, it started the day after sex. At first I thought it would go away on its own, I drank all sorts of bearberry tea, sat in a hot bath, drank cranberry-lingonberry juice, nothing helped. On the contrary, it got worse, on the 3rd day the pain was so severe that I couldn't bear it and went to the emergency room. They prescribed me antibiotics and a painkiller that turns urine and tears bright orange. And what do you think? Within 30 minutes of taking the pills, my suffering ended. If anyone is interested, I can write the name of the pills. This happened in the USA.

I finished writing "the course of treatment was 7 days, but usually 5 is enough. It was 7 because it was already very painful, I guess I hoped for self-recovery for too long. Girls, don't delay with this matter, the infection can spread to the kidneys. Good luck to everyone!

Exhausted, I highly recommend: flush the intestines with water, then pour in one litre of chamomile infusion (warm) and lie on your stomach until all the infusion is absorbed by the intestines. The procedure is unpleasant, but at least you won't be poisoning yourself with medication, and it relieves inflammation very well: the infusion quickly and almost without hindrance seeps through to the internal reproductive organs.

It's definitely important to keep the lower abdomen and perineum warm. Additionally, it's possible that your boyfriend has an internal infection that he's "sharing" with you during intercourse—he should get tested.

Hello everyone!
First of all, don't worry. Statistics show that at least a quarter of women suffer from chronic cystitis (though not everyone experiences it acutely), and the remaining three-quarters have had it at least once in their lives.
Secondly, it's essential to see a urologist, especially if this issue has recently appeared.
Thirdly, it's a good idea to visit a gynaecologist and get tested for various nasties like chlamydia, ureaplasma, etc.
Fourthly, check your gut flora. Very often, it's pathogenic flora (such as cocci) that causes cystitis. Especially if your own flora has been destroyed by poor diet and antibiotics and can't fight off pathogenic and opportunistic pathogens. Kefir won't help here; you'll need to take bacteriophages. (Your doctor will explain in detail.)
Finally, emergency help for your body during acute cystitis.
1. Monural. Sold in sachets of 2 or 3 grams. This thing relieves an attack within an hour. It's not cheap (around 200 or 300 roubles), but let's face it, when you're desperate, no amount of money matters.

The sachet dissolves like effervescent aspirin, and it's best taken on an empty stomach.
One sachet should be enough; no need to take any additional tablets.
2. 5-NOK – if the cystitis is not acute but rather lingering. This is also an antibiotic and works well. Girls, this is also a last resort – if you're on holiday or at work and can't see a doctor. I don't recommend ignoring doctors at all!!!
3. If possible – get into a hot bath and warm your lower back. During this time, you need to drink lots and lots of herbal tea from a thermos – I like half-pala. Tea with milk and sugar if you don't have herbs at home.
4. Out of the bath – woolly socks! To your lower back – a hot water bottle. And drink, drink, drink hot teas...

Triggers for cystitis:
Alcohol (especially wine)
Spicy food
Getting chilled (this is probably the biggest one). Always keep your feet and bottom warm!
Inflammatory processes (infections, viruses...)
Sex! (After sex, don't be lazy—make sure to urinate and wash the genital area!)
If cystitis is chronic, it's practically impossible to cure. You'll have to take care of yourself for life.

Exhausted. I've also had cystitis. During treatment, the doctor gave the following advice. To ease the pain during the acute period, you can use a hot water bottle (clamp it between your legs), but only if the cystitis is without blood discharge. Drink more fluids (to urinate more frequently), avoid spicy foods entirely, and don't drink coffee. During flare-ups, complete sexual rest. At the time, I was taking some imported medication, but it's actually an analogue of Furadonin. Everything cleared up in 2 days. Yes, and the doctor also said that besides common causes (like cold feet, sitting on something cold), cystitis can indeed be caused by intense sexual intercourse with a full bladder. So, girls, always go pee before making love 8-)))

I was using a hot water bottle and taking antibiotics, but what helped was a decoction made from the most ordinary dill seeds. Moreover, the pain and discomfort disappeared within 20 minutes, and the frequent urge to urinate subsided over the course of the day. All genius is simple.

Personally, I find Furagin very helpful. As soon as there's a hint of an impending attack, I take two tablets right away, and everything's fine. Thank goodness, now it happens very rarely, only once or twice a year, and even then only if I get really chilled.

For preventing cystitis:
Run to pee more often, don't hold it in at all, and try to empty your bladder completely—even push a little. That way, the infection won't have a chance to develop!
This advice from a doctor (a general practitioner) really helped me, believe me. Even urologists didn't know how to cure me. And of course, take care of yourself, especially keep your feet warm!

You need to drink a lot. Drink cranberry juice by the gallon, eat plenty of yoghurt. That's what the doctor told me. Also take warm baths with baking soda, and brew chamomile like tea and drink it four times a day. Everything will pass.

I have the same problem...
I've noticed: flare-ups the day after sex or after drinking alcohol in any amount, even the smallest doses. The sensations are simply awful: burning in the urethra, sometimes abdominal pain. The worst part, of course, is the burning! How do I get rid of it? Can anyone advise?

The drug of choice for acute cystitis is NOLICIN.
Take 1 tablet twice a day for 3 consecutive days.
Typically, cystitis is most often triggered by hypothermia.
The girls were right to advise consulting both a urologist and a gynaecologist.
Very, very often, cystitis and burning during urination are the sole symptoms of a herpes infection flare-up.
But if it's a common bladder inflammation caused by E. coli, take "NOLICIN" or "CIPROLET"-250 for 3–5 days, and drink plenty of cranberry juice during treatment.
If you're so afraid of antibiotics, take LINEX along with NOLICIN or Ciprolet—1 capsule three times a day.
Monural is, of course, a good drug, but much data indicates recurrence of infection after a single dose.
If there is any infection, it needs to be treated with an antibiotic for at least 3 days.
Good luck.

All doctors ever recommend are antibiotics; they have nothing else in their arsenal. But that doesn't solve the problem. In a week or two, it all starts again.

My friend took three courses of antibiotics. As soon as she finished, within a week, it was back to square one. She went to the doctor, and he prescribed another antibiotic, a stronger one this time. And so it went, round and round.

In the end, she listened to me and started drinking dill water, and within three days, everything was completely gone, although she felt better almost immediately. And no need to poison yourself.

But people don't realise this straight away. It's a shame.

I need to get tested for STIs. That includes things like ureaplasma, chlamydia, and others. These infections can be asymptomatic but can trigger cystitis. That's what happened to me. My husband gave me ureaplasma, and I was plagued with cystitis. I treated the ureaplasma, and the cystitis disappeared.

When I first got cystitis, I had all the tests done and saw a urologist. As I was told, it's inflammation of the bladder (due to getting chilled). They prescribed Biseptol and Citeal (I think). I recovered. But now, in autumn and winter, I catch it regularly if I get cold (due to a weakened immune system). I don't go to the doctor anymore. When inflammation occurs, I just take one Biseptol tablet, and if I feel it's not completely better after half a day, I take another tablet. The pain subsides by morning, and then over the next three days, my body handles it on its own.

As previously mentioned, MONURAL relieves all symptoms with a single dose. You take one sachet at night, and within a day everything will calm down.

The urologist I consulted for chronic cystitis advised me to take Monural, but not as a one-off dose. Instead, I should take one sachet every 10 days over a period of two months. It does quickly relieve the unpleasant symptoms, but for chronic cystitis, taking it just once isn't enough.

Urological herbal blends are essential. Plus, Canephron (herbal tablets). Also, it's important to normalise the vaginal flora, as I keep having issues—sometimes it's E. coli, other times non-specific staphylococcus. And it's very beneficial to undergo a course of 10 bladder instillations. That's the treatment plan. Additionally, constant self-care is necessary: avoid spicy and salty foods, cut out coffee, limit alcohol strictly, maintain hygiene, and empty the bladder after intercourse...

Drink urological herbal teas regularly...
Another option, I cured myself... I simply drank Narzan and Borjomi constantly... Not just any mineral water... specifically Narzan and Borjomi in glass bottles...
Also, buy yourself an Esmarch mug... and you can wash with a weak chamomile solution (only strained)...
As for alcohol, spicy foods... oops... it's better to avoid them during flare-ups...

Anabel: Biseptol is certainly a good method, and I believe it helps. But I'll tell you a scary story: I'm 30 years old, and my cystitis started about 7 years ago. I didn't go to the doctor because my sister had the same problem—she was prescribed chloramphenicol, so I started taking it too. It went away. So, I kept suppressing my cystitis with chloramphenicol. Then it stopped helping me—I switched to penicillin. After that, all sorts of herbal remedies, sitz baths, hot water bottles. Then—Cystone. And then I found a solution for myself—nitroxoline. At first, I took it in courses, but then, just like Anabel: a few tablets one day, a few tablets the next... and then "the body copes on its own." But last summer, my kidneys failed. Completely and forever. Before that, I didn't even know where they were in principle, meaning they never bothered me. And now I'm on chronic dialysis and on the waiting list for a kidney transplant. And all the doctors who "interrogated" me and heard about my regularly recurring cystitis said, "Well, it's clear—an ascending infection." So, such recklessness as self-treatment doesn't go without consequences. And you must agree, becoming tied to an artificial kidney machine for 4 hours, three times a week, for life at the age of 30 is a dubious pleasure. So, girls, go to the doctor.

Girls! Cystitis is an absolute nightmare. I'm 27 and have been suffering from this awful thing for 2 years. I've been treated everywhere and tried every medication under the sun. Nothing helped. The symptoms are: painful urination all the time, morning, evening, night, and day. At the Urology Research Institute on 3 Parkovaya Street, there's an excellent doctor, T.S. Perepanova. She knows everything about cystitis. She was the only one who managed to identify the cause of my illness. I'm currently undergoing a second course of treatment, and there are noticeable improvements. She has a special method for treating this nasty condition. 9 out of 10 women recover completely. I recommend getting an appointment with her, but you need a referral from your local clinic.

Girls! I used to have it several times a winter... and often in summer when it's really hot...
What REALLY helps: frequent warm baths, hot drinks—the more often, the better... and AMPIOX tablets... it works very quickly and lasts for almost 10–12 hours... that's the only thing that saved me... I treated myself like this for about 2 years...... now it hardly ever happens anymore...

You need to take Furadonin every day for a week. I don't remember how many tablets—consult your doctor. It will only help if you complete the full week. And then, to prevent it from starting again, you should dress warmly and try not to get cold. That's all.

Ladies, I have 10 years of experience (both with cystitis and in my sex life). Here are the ironclad rules: pee after sex, don’t switch from anal to vaginal sex, wash from front to back, shower before intimacy—or at least wash up and don’t forget to wash your hands (this applies to your partner too). There are far more germs on your hands than "down there."

Now, if you’ve already slipped up and caught cystitis, then it’s cranberries, cranberries, and more cranberries. Just brew them like tea and drink as much as you can. I always keep a bag of these berries ready in my freezer.

I don’t recommend heating your lower back—even though it eases the pain. You could end up with complications. If you have a fever, you must see a doctor.

And, look for a good urogynaecologist who can offer something beyond the usual antibiotics. I haven’t found one like that, neither in Russia nor abroad. Good luck!

I have a cough. I can't take antibiotics because I'm breastfeeding. Herbs aren't helping. What should I do, can you advise?
Anonymous

During breastfeeding, I was on a course of antibiotics. I simply expressed the milk and discarded it. After finishing the course, I waited about four days before resuming breastfeeding. Although my doctor said the prescribed medication wouldn’t affect the baby, I still wanted to be cautious. Try looking for cranberry extract—it comes in capsules or tablets. It helps a lot. Also, drink neutral mineral water until it feels like it’s "coming out of your ears." It’s beneficial to avoid sweets and anything containing yeast. Get well soon!

Suffering. There is an excellent way to get rid of cystitis without harming the baby, if you are pregnant or during lactation. These are instillations directly into the bladder with collargol and chlorhexidine, alternating each day for 10 days. I know a good hospital and a good doctor. Write.

I want to tell everyone that you should not take antibiotics after consulting with "colleagues" on a website or with a friend. This is highly individual. You need to find a urologist and a gynaecologist—since uro-gynaecologists are rare—and undergo an examination. This includes a PCR test, a general urine analysis, a swab for antibiotic sensitivity, and an ultrasound. If it's chronic cystitis, an endoscopic examination, i.e., cystoscopy, is better (many fear it, but it's just an uncomfortable procedure). Good luck to all of you, girls!

Well, I was told a folk remedy, so to speak—fill a one-and-a-half-litre plastic bottle with hot water, or even better, a hot chamomile infusion, drink some tea with honey, warm milk, etc., place the bottle between your legs (like riding a horse), and wrap yourself in a warm blanket overnight. You can even refill the bottle once during the night.
