What to bring to …

What to bring to kindergarten for a birthday?

My daughter's having a birthday, what should I bring to the group?
For treats I'm thinking about jelly slices + marshmallows + juice.
But what to buy for everyone as a souvenir/gift? Puzzles/balloons have already been done by others...
There's quite a few kids in the group, need 25 gifts... group is 4-5 years old... budget up to 100 rubles... what little things can I buy? #souvenirs #kids

Hmm, and why should they be given free gifts? They haven't earned them.

But is it allowed to bring food into the garden? We brought puzzles.

Well, others give gifts, they give gifts to my daughter too... it's a bit awkward...

Treats should be individually wrapped only.
No gift is necessary, but if you insist on buying one, please purchase a single, suitable gift for the group that several children can play with together.

Pre-packaged shop-bought food with expiry dates is allowed.
Well, the puzzles were literally at the beginning of March for the morning celebration :) and last year we bought puzzles too... have to keep looking for something else

Up to 100 roubles for 25 children? So 4 roubles per gift? Or up to 100 roubles per gift? That would be 2500, which doesn't seem cheap anymore.

Check with the teacher about the treats, in case any of the children have allergies to something; it would be a shame for them to feel left out.

Well, so what?
For 100 rubles you can only buy rubbish that'll be thrown in the bin by evening.
I'd be principled and wouldn't spend on that sort of thing.

Obviously 100 roubles per gift. It's clear you can't find anything cheaper, and anything more expensive would be completely unaffordable.

Well they're giving them to us for free :) The kids are really happy about it. They have a proper celebration on days like these. Why not, if even rubbish brings joy? Didn't buy it myself, so don't mind throwing it away :)

Thanks, I was thinking along those lines too. I'll have a look at boomerangs, haven't had that option yet :)

We all know that, the treats are standard, without chocolate and tangerines, so Kinder unfortunately doesn't work... though it would've been convenient

Alas, there are children with chocolate allergies, though it would've been the easiest option...

Ugh, chemical-laden sweets, probably from Fix Price or some "everything for 10" place. Don't you feel sorry for the children?

And as for small items - soap bubbles, soft toys, small wooden toys for colouring, notepads, pens or felt-tip pens for drawing, keychains, hair clips, hair ties, cups, mugs, small construction sets, children's musical instruments, party blowers, glow-in-the-dark bracelets, animal figurines - sold in sets, carnival glasses, any small toys.

It's my daughter's birthday, yet presents are given to other children in honour of it. Makes sense 😕

No. At Spar, natural sugar-coated jelly sweets like from our childhood, marshmallows are also considered healthy sweets. If we decide on biscuits, I'll only buy children's ones. Juice only Fruto Nanny too. All kids eat this regularly at home :) I'm not offering cola with crisps :)

Cheers for the sensible advice, I'll have a look at the little bits and bobs in Detsky Mir for something

Well that's just how it's done in kindergarten. I remember we used to give everyone sweets/Kinder eggs in school too...

Take a look at Leonardo's as well; they sell inexpensive wooden toys for self-painting, which I think the children would find very interesting.

Not 'gave' but 'treated'. Understand the difference? Your principles and morals have been taken to absurdity, devalued. Love and empathy have been practically completely removed from life. No matter how many gifts you shower children with, they won't become kinder, and one fine day they'll get rid of you simply because it's expedient and economical to do so.

Well, there used to be such opportunities, now there are different ones. If everyone treats and gives something, then you don't really want to stand out like a black sheep against their background either, and it brings children joy - if they like it, why not do it then?
I remember really looking forward to other kids' birthdays at school, I really liked that we were treated, for me it was a celebration.

I've never come across healthy shop-bought marshmallows without sugar anywhere, better to replace with children's fruit and nut bars, juices also with proper ones, and for gifts for everyone, coloured crayons or anti-stress toys, it would be great to arrange a fondue for everyone, cheese fondue for example

You can't find natural products nowadays, and if they do exist, they're at astronomical prices.
What they write on the packaging 'natural 100%' doesn't mean it actually is

"It would be great to have a fondue for everyone, cheese fondue."

Are you in your right mind to suggest such a thing, risking children burning their mouths or hands? Not every adult knows or likes it, and children are very conservative with food. Besides, it's a heavy dish, not suitable for children's stomachs. Next, you'll be recommending barbecues over an open fire!

If there were a chat, I would ask if anyone has allergies and such.
I would treat them to a Kinder or a small chocolate bar (one Barney each) and juice.
I definitely wouldn't give any gifts to the children, no matter how small they might be. Why bother? A treat is enough. That's it.

25 gifts? Are you serious? Well, if you've got nothing better to do, then go ahead and buy them.
I think it's unnecessary. The treats alone will cost a pretty penny as it is. And now gifts for the children too? What for? When your daughter grows up, will you be giving presents to everyone in her class as well?
I remember when I brought treats in years 1 and 2. And even then, it was just some sweets (sold by weight).
But giving them actual items as well? No.

I know all about treats, that's standard.
I was asking specifically about small gifts. Well, in our group it's customary, it's not the first birthday and everyone has something small, I don't want to be the odd one out, and I don't want to repeat either.

Yeah, we always had loose sweets too. But now everyone's got allergies, everyone's against chocolate and lollipops, plus everyone here started doing it this way, everyone's giving gifts... I don't know why it's like that. I'm thinking about how to do it differently so I don't just repeat what others do and not ignore it altogether.

Yeah, they wrote some nonsense there. You can't bring anything of your own to kindergarten, only store-bought stuff with expiry date labels. And I won't even mention hot food :)

Well, we all eat stuff from shops our whole lives anyway :)) There's no alternative. Even if it's not natural, it's not poison. If they don't eat it at nursery/parties, they'll eat it at home and vice versa.
Of course you should avoid allergens and obvious nasties like cola and crisps.
But things like sugar-free baby biscuits and other treats are definitely less harmful than something like a Chupa Chups :)
And marshmallows are actually recommended to all pregnant women as a healthy natural sweet.

Anyway, I've decided everything, done it, bought it. It'll just be a gift bag with a colouring book + small pack of pencils + a lollipop. Works out to about 150 rubles per child altogether. But without treats. It's simpler this way.
