I read online that they need to be removed to prevent them turning into malignant tumours, but if they're not causing problems - just monitor them. But nobody writes about how they can cause problems. My pancreas bothers me, and heartburn, and my stomach. All my blood tests are normal. A year ago an ultrasound showed a 2mm polyp, today I went again - it's grown by 1mm. In June I was really ill, had no energy, low temperature, even water made my stomach rumble, burning in the epigastric area, lost a lot of weight. The acute symptoms passed, but my weight kept dropping, still can't put weight on. My doctor doesn't know what's wrong with me. Usually weight drops from diarrhoea, but I don't have diarrhoea. Girls, please write your symptoms, maybe I'll at least figure out what's causing what, since my doctor doesn't know. Thanks
I have a polyp with no symptoms at all; it was found during an ultrasound, and I'm not doing anything about it.

Polyps as well, for a long time now. I'm not doing anything about it. I take Allochol and Ursulac to prevent bile retention. When it gets really painful, I take No-Spa or ibuprofen. The doctor says the gallbladder could be removed, but I'm not ready for that, firstly because I haven't given birth again, and secondly, I have diabetes and my pancreas isn't functioning, and if I don't have a gallbladder either...

I've had polyps for two years now. This year, according to the scans, they told me they've detached. Last year, I was at the institute. There, the lead surgeon assured me: after the operation, for 99% of people, they're just simple growths.

I have had a 10 mm polyp for two years now, I'm taking Ursofalk, but it's not helping. I have severe pain under my ribs in the mornings and feel nauseous. What would you advise?
Polyps are removed along with the gallbladder if they enlarge rapidly. If no significant growth is observed, no action is taken. There are no symptoms indicating the presence of polyps.

My child is 7 years old. A polyp was discovered when they were 6 - 7 mm in size. We've tried various treatments, but nothing has helped. I'm hesitant about surgery for now, as there are neurological concerns, and removing the gallbladder requires strong anaesthesia. They occasionally experience stomach pain and vomiting. We were advised to visit Truskavets.

If in most cases these are growths, could it indeed be that the parasitic theory holds true, meaning these growths consist of invasions?

They were discovered about 10 years ago during an ultrasound. I had no symptoms at all. There was also a suggestion that it might be thickened bile. I didn't go for follow-up appointments because nothing was bothering me.
Although I was also shocked by such a diagnosis.

I discovered polyps at the age of 24, 1-2 mm in size, and by 37, they had grown to 1-10 mm (there are many of them). In the autumn, I treated Helicobacter... after 10 intravenous Hepamerz sessions, a diet, swimming pool, and sauna... it seems like I've put on rose-tinted glasses, I'm living! The doctor said the bile ducts might need to be dilated! I hope it won't be necessary...

Continuing: I don't know what to say! I had an ultrasound and was told that the polyps have shrunk, with the largest one reduced from 10 mm to 7 mm and the others diminished to 1-2 mm. I recall my GP prescribed Levofloxacin, after which moderate fatty liver infiltration appeared. Then, looking at the message from 10th February 2006, my current condition is after treatment for Helicobacter and a course of Hepamerz infusions. I feel better, but something is bothering my right side near the kidney... probably a kidney cyst...?

Tanya, get a blood test for parasites... only a blood test will give a precise answer! And perhaps you and your doctor will understand where to go for treatment next! Advice: Brew tea with tansy and drink 100g before bed...

I also have polyps, I've been observing them for about 3 years now, and they don't seem to be growing much, but the panic is still there, Inna. There are two of them, 4.6 mm and 7.6 mm. I just don't know what to do—maybe remove them and not live in fear?
I have pain in my right side after physical exertion and alcohol. Doctors say that this is how polyps in the gallbladder manifest themselves.

Tanya, I've had the same issue all summer. They found a 7mm polyp and H. pylori. I've treated the infection with antibiotics, and the nighttime pain and heartburn are gone, but the weight issue and pain in my right side remain the same story. Most likely, I'll have surgery, and I'm not against it. The percentage of it being a malignant tumor is too high.
Your heartburn and stomach issues could be due to an ulcer. Get tested for H. pylori.
There's no joking about this; it requires either an operation or observation... one of the two, and as for treatment, medicine only says "operation"... I wish it would just go away on its own..) but who knows, I'm hoping for the best.

I also had gallbladder polyps discovered purely by chance during an ultrasound. The surgeon suggested an operation, and it was indeed scheduled. I decided to wait a bit (in agreement with the doctor) and try hirudotherapy. I have an ultrasound from before the therapy—I'll do one after and see the progress. I don't have a medical education, but I apply the leeches myself. I took courses in hirudotherapy—I can't practice (due to lacking a medical degree), but I do it for myself.
I found myself alone with my polyps; doctors "don't need" this. The therapist sends me to the surgeon, and the surgeon has only one solution—to operate.
I had high cholesterol, and within a couple of weeks, I managed to lower it by 1.5 units on my own. The doctor was practically shouting at me, explaining that "IT DOESN'T HAPPEN LIKE THAT." I showed her the test results, and she insisted, "IT DOESN'T HAPPEN." I got tested for parasites—the result was negative.
Overall, I think that if polyps aren't removed (after all, the statistics show up to 30% can become malignant), it's essential to do cancer tests.
There's no need to panic, but letting things slide is dangerous.

I also had polyps discovered quite by chance during an ultrasound, definitely five of them, multiple ones, about 0.3 mm each and one 0.8 mm. There weren't really any symptoms as such; I sometimes felt dryness in my mouth (my sugar levels are normal, pancreas too) and pain in the right upper abdomen, but no pronounced symptoms like that. A blood test showed slightly high cholesterol, 5.8 units, which was also a bit high about 10 years ago. They told me to come back in six months for a follow-up ultrasound. But since I live in Ireland and had the ultrasound done in Kyiv, I went to my doctor here with the results. On Thursday, 27th October, I have another ultrasound, and I'm absolutely terrified... I'll update after the ultrasound. They also told me during the ultrasound that I have hemangiomas in my liver, four of them, each 1.5 cm, and the liver is 4.5 cm. They took blood for tumour markers, and the result was negative. Also, according to the ultrasound, the liver function was unchanged, not enlarged... so I'm already preparing for the worst. And one more thing, they told me not to eat for 8 hours before the ultrasound.

I also have a polyp in my gallbladder. I've been under observation for two and a half years now. The surgeon insists on surgery without even looking at the ultrasound results. In the spring, I was treated by a urologist with antibiotics for E. coli. For a whole month, I took various medications according to the doctor's regimen. Then I found a folk remedy online that supposedly removes all polyps from the body. I checked—it seemed all harmless. So I'm drinking it and will check with an ultrasound in three months. I don't know why, whether it's from the antibiotics or the homemade medicine, but it's shrinking. Although I did lose 2 kg over the summer as well. I eat little and work a lot. In May, the polyp was 5x5 mm, and in September, it was 4.6x4.2 mm. It's a small reduction, but it is shrinking, yet the surgeon keeps insisting that only surgery will help, that nothing else works. I still want to continue taking my remedy and see what happens. Sometimes I do feel not pain but some discomfort under my right rib, and occasionally even from the back in the same area. I haven't felt any bitterness in my mouth since I started taking the homemade medicine, though I did occasionally before.

I went for an ultrasound on Thursday, and honestly, by the time I got there, I thought I was going to have a heart attack. Anyway, the ultrasound specialist examined me and said that the polyps haven't grown in 6 months and that I probably should have come after a year, as six months isn't really a significant period. She mentioned that gallbladder cancer is extremely rare; in her 18 years of practice, she's only come across one man with gallbladder cancer, and even then, she said she thought it was metastases from somewhere else to the gallbladder. She also told me that I have multiple polyps, which is a good sign, as the dangerous ones are usually solitary polyps. For now, I've been advised to have check-ups once a year for five years, and if there's no change in the situation, then every few years after that. Here, they only remove polyps when they start to grow. That's all for now. I'm grateful to God that these aren't malignant growths.

Dasha, there's no need to go to such extremes! Why are you already writing yourself off? I have polyps too, and not just one, and only God knows how many I had before they were discovered. Don't self-medicate; people can write anything here, but you haven't met the person in question... you haven't been with them at the doctor's and seen the polyps shrink from some miracle cure. Polyps are only treated surgically, and there's no other way! And who told you that women who haven't given birth can't have gallbladder surgery??? What does the gallbladder have to do with the female reproductive system? People live perfectly well without a gallbladder and give birth to more than one child. The gallbladder is a sac where bile produced by the liver collects, which then goes into the small intestine; when the gallbladder is removed, all the bile simply goes directly into the duodenum instead, that's all. So stop scaring yourself—if the doctors say to remove it, then remove it and don't self-medicate, as that can lead to dire consequences.

Dasha, I know several people who had their gallbladder removed and then gave birth to two children, so I don't think there's any need to worry about that. As for me, I just decided to see what would happen if I took it—I mentioned I don't know why it's getting smaller, but according to the same ultrasound results. No doctors are interested in monitoring this, only we are. And the decision is ours alone. Surgeons, without even looking at the results, immediately send you for surgery. Here's what I found online: "Treatment for polyps in any organ. Take 7 boiled egg yolks, 6 tablespoons of pumpkin seeds (not roasted), dried and ground into flour. Mix everything, adding 0.5 litres of vegetable oil. Heat in a water bath for 20 minutes. Store in the refrigerator. Take 1 teaspoon in the morning for 5 days. Take a break for 5 days, then another 5 days of intake. Continue until all the medicine is used up. Polyps from all over the body will come out in the form of bits of ichor, mucus, etc. Also, within 2-3 months, various spots and moles will disappear from the skin's surface." It lasted me half a year. I had an ultrasound every 3 months. I've only made half of it now to keep it fresher. As for the spots and moles, I haven't noticed anything yet. Maybe it's just too soon.
I also think you need to decide based on this: Indications for surgical treatment of patients with an ultrasound diagnosis of "gallbladder polyp" (developed based on a ***-analysis of global literature [22, 23] and our own data):
1. Combination with gallstones.
2. Presence of clinical manifestations of the disease that worsen quality of life, with no effect from conservative therapy.
3. Presence of more than 2 polyps.
4. Polyp size exceeding 10 mm.
5. Presence of 1-2 polyps sized 5-9 mm on a broad base with medium echogenicity.
6. Polyp stalk wider than 3 mm (regardless of the polyp's echogenicity). http://forum.littleone.ru/archive/index.php/t-379.html. This is my personal take, but you decide for yourself.

I have cured myself. I followed a strict diet for 1.5 years and consumed celandine, also using it for enemas.
Pour one tablespoon of dried, crushed celandine herb into a thermos with a cup of boiling water, steep for 15–30 minutes, strain, and drink 1–2 tablespoons three times a day 20–30 minutes before meals. The treatment course lasts a month; after a 10-day break, it can be repeated.
- First course: 2 litres of warm boiled water + 1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed celandine juice or 1 tablespoon of celandine infusion (prepared as in the first recipe), administer the enema at night. After 15 enemas – a 15-day break. Second course: 2 litres of warm water + 1 tablespoon of celandine juice or 3 tablespoons of celandine herb infusion. Course – 15 enemas, followed by a 15-day break. Third course: 2 litres of warm water + 2 tablespoons of celandine juice or 4 tablespoons of celandine herb infusion. Course – 15 enemas – 15-day break.

Olga, are the yolks from chicken or quail eggs? Unfortunately, gallbladder removal is not such a harmless thing, and there are many, many problems after it. For example, lipid metabolism is disrupted, and if there were any issues with the gastrointestinal tract before the operation, they worsen. Moreover, the operation itself is not the simplest, and unfortunately, in our case, further "examination" of the removed gallbladder is typically not conducted.

Tanechka, go and see the surgeons. If they suggest an operation, agree to it. With this diagnosis, you mustn't take any chances! The gallbladder definitely needs to be removed; it's no longer performing its function anyway. I had my gallbladder removed back in 2004 due to gallstone disease, and I don't regret it. I live a normal life and don't even feel like it's missing. Of course, you'll need to follow a certain diet at first, but later you can eat everything within reasonable limits. Your body will tell you itself what you can eat. Admittedly, my condition wasn't advanced, so I coped well with the operation. Nowadays, the operations are minimally invasive, so you can't even see the puncture marks anymore. That's my advice to you, but the decision is yours! Good luck!

The first polyp was found over 10 years ago by chance during an ultrasound. I was young then and didn't dwell on it, just forgot about it. I went on with my life, got married, had a child. The pregnancy was difficult, and chronic issues started to surface. They began sending me for ultrasounds, and that's when, after 10 years, it was "found" again. Well, by then I was a serious lady and started seeing doctors regularly. Ultrasound monitoring and so on. It would be 8mm, then 6mm. I decided to have my gallbladder removed. I made the decision myself and found a private doctor. Meanwhile, I also went for surgery to remove a kidney stone; it didn't seem to bother me, but the doctors said it was dangerous and necessary... So after the surgery, I went to check on my kidney, and by the way, it turned out the surgery wasn't a cure-all—they removed the stone, but as a result, cysts grew in my kidney, and not just one... Now I'm monitoring my kidney too... So, I went to check my kidney and mentioned the polyp to the doctor, saying I wanted to remove it. And there, the doctors are both surgeons and do ultrasounds themselves; he immediately said, "Let me have a look... If I were you, I wouldn't rush. A true polyp is very hard to diagnose via ultrasound, and there are many similar images." Three years have passed since then. Today, I went for an ultrasound... That 10-year-old polyp, which is now 13 years old, is still the same... And they said new ones have appeared nearby... So, I suppose I'll wait a bit longer and go to another ultrasound specialist to see what they find interesting.
