Lately, I've been seeing a lot of posts about periods during pregnancy everywhere... and they all start with "my mom, my grandma"... and here's what's curious... is having periods during pregnancy a genetic trait? For those of you who have periods while pregnant, tell me, did your moms or grandmas also have this feature, or does pregnancy only go this way for you?
My friend had periods during her pregnancy, and she went to consult a famous professor. He said it was nothing serious, but in the end, she gave birth to a mentally disabled boy and now suffers for the rest of her life.

I didn't have one. But six of my acquaintances did. My mother-in-law gave birth to her youngest son this way. He's a wonderful guy, already 18 years old.

In any case, you need to see a doctor immediately.
I had my period, but it was just spotting and half as long as usual.

I was chatting with a girl in my apartment complex, and she found out she's pregnant with her second child at 16 weeks - there were no signs at all, except she started gaining weight and working on her abs)))

I had completely normal periods, only the pregnancy was abnormal - ectopic. Because of this bleeding, I didn't even think to take a pregnancy test and had no idea about anything. Two weeks later, I even went for an ultrasound at a top-notch planning center to determine ovulation, and on the ultrasound, they didn't see anything except for a cyst, which they mistook for a dominant follicle and advised me to "try" in the coming days, and gave me an hCG shot. So when I ended up in the hospital three days later with excruciating pain, I refused emergency laparoscopy because the doctors' suspicion of an ectopic pregnancy seemed like complete nonsense to me... Though, after three days of suffering, I still had to go under the knife.
A friend of mine had the same experience with all three of her pregnancies. She got food poisoning, went for an ultrasound, and they detected the pregnancy—it was too late for an abortion. Now she's about to give birth to her third child. Her boss was in shock: she left on sick leave with food poisoning and returned with a pregnancy.

Girls, the question is different. Is this a genetic trait or not?

No. This is a characteristic of a specific organism; moreover, menstruation during pregnancy is often attributed to uterine muscle memory. When during pregnancy, on the day of the expected period, spotting and mild lower abdominal pain begin. Menstruation typically involves clots, whereas so-called menstruation during pregnancy simply involves bleeding or spotting.

Oh, girls, you're never boring. You made me laugh so hard. By the way, it's a good thing my late mother found out about me at 4 months. Otherwise, you would have had an abortion.

So, look, I'm feeling nauseous. One test showed two lines, but two tests showed one line. And today, my period started. What do you suggest I do?

I had an 8-day delay, then had a slightly painful period for two days less. The last two days, there was brown spotting. My breasts still hurt, and I often feel nauseous. I noticed a slight increase in my belly size and yellowish discharge. The test showed a very faint second line. I don't even know what to think?

There should be no menstruation during pregnancy! From my experience, I also read and hoped it would be like everyone else's, but it ended up being a missed miscarriage and a D&C! Go to the hospital and seek urgent care to preserve the pregnancy!

Good afternoon. I have this situation. Two weeks before my period, my breasts swelled and I had a headache. I have no appetite at all. A day before my period (which is regular), I took a test, and it showed a very faint second line. And today, my period started, what you'd call spotting. There's no abdominal pain, which is unusual for me. I wonder what this could be.

No, in our family, it's only me. That's why there are big disagreements with the doctor about going on maternity leave!! She doesn't believe the ultrasound! I only had periods in the first 2 months of pregnancy. (The doctor is trying to send me on maternity leave a month later!)

I'll tell my story. Three days ago, I was admitted to the hospital for pregnancy preservation. I was 8 weeks along. I started having brown spotting, and my stomach was pulling like during menstruation. On the second day, the discharge turned red, meaning the blood became fresh. The pain was minor. Then it wasn't just pain, but contractions. I started timing them. The interval was like this: one minute of rest, 20 seconds of tightening. Then the tightening time increased, and the break was one minute. After these awful torments, they gave me a hemostatic injection and told me to monitor the discharge. After 15 minutes, blood started flowing like from a tap. I decided to wash up. In the bath, while taking off my panties, large jelly-like, dark red clots, like mush, came out. I ran to the gynecologist. Onto the chair. The cervix was dilated one finger. Well, that's it, the miscarriage is starting. An injection in the vein. I fell asleep. After "1 minute," I woke up. They cleaned me out. Now I'm lying down resting. I cried. What can you do. There's a woman lying next to me. Same symptoms. Rest for 3 minutes, tightening for 15 seconds. You could crawl up the wall, it's so painful. She's already agreed to the cleaning herself, just to get rid of it. What I'm getting at... I was hoping it was my period, like the fetus is washing away, etc... because I heard that somewhere...
Girls, I'm in such a situation. I had a delay of 1.5 weeks. I took as many as 6 tests—all showed two lines. My husband and I were over the moon. Then suddenly, three days later, I started spotting. I went to a private clinic in the morning, but they didn't see anything on the ultrasound. The ultrasound technician said it was empty, or maybe the term was just too early. Right away, I got my blood tested for hCG. The result was 173 (which corresponds to 2-3 weeks of pregnancy). Today is the third day of my period, it's not heavy, and I took another test—still two lines. The gynecologist didn't give any clear explanation. I don't know what to think. Any advice?

Hello! I have a question: my last period was from March 1st to 7th, and I had unprotected intercourse on March 12th. Literally within a week, the first signs of pregnancy appeared—basal temperature, and excuse my bluntness, increased appetite, sleepiness, morning nausea, diarrhea, and everything else... I was sure I was pregnant, but this morning what I assume is my period started, but it's not heavy at all, bright red with clots and almost painless (whereas with my usual periods, on the first day, it pours like a bucket and the pain is excruciating, to the point of fainting, vomiting, etc.). Do you think this could be implantation bleeding, and is it possible that I'm pregnant??? The baby is very much wanted!!..

Hello! Girls, please give me some advice! So, my period was on February 24th. My cycle is relatively regular (I track it with an electronic calendar, and it usually comes right on time with the expected date), approximately 30 days. That means the next one should have started on March 25th. During the cycle, I had unprotected sex and withdrawal. A week before my expected period, my appetite increased, I craved pickles (which I usually don't like), and I had an inner feeling of being pregnant (even though we're not really planning it). Usually, my PMS symptoms are similar to pregnancy signs (except for the pickles and the pregnancy feeling), so I wasn't too worried. But this time, nothing, absolutely nothing! There was a 5-day delay (the longest delay I've had was 4 days, only once a year ago). On the 6th day, I decided to take a test, it was negative, and that same day, my period started. What's going on? The next day (today), I started feeling nauseous in the morning and became very sensitive to smells. My period is very dark and sometimes thick; it's not usually like this. I have strong, cramping abdominal pain. I'm taking Ketanol injections because I'm completely unable to function. My question is, could this be pregnancy? Could it be a miscarriage? It might be a silly question, but please give me some advice!!! Thank you.

Help me understand the situation: my last period was on March 30, 2015. My husband and I are trying for a baby, and my menstrual cycle is 26–28 days long. On April 26, 2015, my period was supposed to come but didn't, so I took a test, and the result was a faint second line—we were overjoyed. On the 27th, the next day, I started spotting. On the 28th, I went to the doctor, who confirmed the pregnancy but diagnosed a threatened miscarriage and prescribed Utrogestan twice a day, advising me to return if bleeding recurred. On the 29th, I spotted again in the morning and went back to her. She sent me for an ultrasound, and thankfully, it didn’t detect an ectopic pregnancy. The conclusion was an early-stage pregnancy. Then the holidays (weekend) started, and at home, the spotting continued, along with a dull pain in my lower abdomen and lower back. On May 2, 2015, I bought a digital test, and it showed an even fainter second line((( What does this mean?? Has the embryo not implanted?

Daria, how did everything turn out for you? I'm in the same situation now. The only difference is that I wasn't sent to get a blood test, and I was in such a state that I couldn't think straight. We really want a healthy baby. Please read my story that I wrote to the online gynecologist... (no response):
My last period was on April 21. On March 21 and 22, there were just a few drops of brown discharge and that's it. I took a test—it was positive (of course, the second line wasn't as bright as the control line, but it was still very noticeable). After that, I took six more tests, and all were ||. Overall, everything seemed fine. Then yesterday, June 1, my stomach started hurting, and discharge began. We rushed to the hospital. The gynecologist examined me and sent me for an ultrasound, where they said either there was no pregnancy, or it resolved on its own (which couldn't be, because there would have been discharge earlier, but it only started yesterday), or the term is still too early, and they can't see anything yet. I went back to the doctor, and she sent me home. A few hours later, my period started. But I still doubt that there was no pregnancy and there isn't one now :'( Such a delay is abnormal for me; it's always on the exact day or at most the next day. And the fact that all the tests showed a second line...

I had my period as usual, but a week after it ended, the test showed a positive result. I rushed to the doctor. The ultrasound confirmed a pregnancy of 3 weeks gestational age. They said there was no heartbeat yet and to come back in two weeks for a follow-up. Then, 11 days later, on the day my period was due, spotting started, which turned into bleeding.(( In the end, it resulted in a miscarriage and a dilation and curettage.

Girls, maybe I'm writing off-topic, but I really need to talk to someone! We've been trying for two years. My husband had surgery for a male issue, which was the main reason for our "failures." After the surgery, his sperm improved, and the numbers are back to normal. We're waiting and hoping for a miracle.
My period was from June 21st to 25th. Three days before it, I had some brown spotting. I got so excited! But my period came anyway. However, I noticed something strange. After my period, I'm usually dry with no discharge, but this time, as soon as it ended, I started having watery discharge. I thought, who knows what that could be.
Then it got even more interesting: my lower back started aching like before my period. For ovulation, I have different sensations—mine is painful, and it's always the ovary that ovulated that hurts. And the discharge is completely different! During intimacy, everything's squishing; I've never had that before. It feels like everything inside is all mucousy. I also have noticeable tingling in my uterus, which I've never felt before. Lots of saliva production. And there's some kind of tension in my vagina—I don't know how to explain it.
I took two tests. One during the day was negative. The second one this morning was unclear. At first, there seemed to be a second line, then some indentation appeared, and next to it, a darkening. My sister had her period in the first month, so anything is possible. I plan to get an hCG test on Monday. I'm really worried.
Hi, with my first child, I found out I was pregnant at 15 weeks. My cycle was about 40-45 days. When I missed my period, I took a test (positive) and went to the gynecologist, who gave me the happy news. I was in shock... It turned out I had what seemed like a period at 5-6 weeks, but it was lighter and lasted 3 days. Now my son is 12 years old)))
Nowadays, I'm having issues with my cycle. I have two ovulations per cycle. Today is 11 days past ovulation from the last one. The problem is that I've been spotting for 4 days. The first two days it was dark spotting, then a day with nothing, and yesterday it was pinkish fluid. Today it's beige discharge. Meanwhile, my basal body temperature is 37.2°C, my breasts are extremely sore... my nipples have doubled in size. I feel constantly exhausted and have been wanting to sleep all the time for several days now. Yesterday I saw the gynecologist, who gave me a referral for an hCG test, even though the pregnancy test was negative.
So here I am, reading all sorts of *****

I have a confusing situation; all the signs are there: 37.3°C fever, today Aunt Flo came, waved, and it started flowing, my chest has been hurting for a month, I feel nauseous and weak!!! What is this, girls, can anyone tell me who has experienced this???
Tell me, I was on birth control pills for a long time, then used condoms for three months. Since August 10th, I haven't used any protection. I really want a child. My cycle is regular. My period started on August 17th, lasted for three days, not heavy... the first two days my stomach hurt terribly. It ended two days ago, but now I'm feeling a pulling sensation in my lower abdomen. Could I be pregnant? Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello. I have this situation: On January 12, I had sexual intercourse. Then there was a 45-day delay in my period. My period started with clots and only lasted 2 days. After that, there was a little brown discharge. I've taken all kinds of pregnancy tests. What could this be? Pregnancy or something else?

I had the same situation—I went to get an hCG blood test, then got my "period" and thought I wasn't pregnant, but the hCG showed I was 8-9 weeks along. I gave birth to a beautiful daughter (my little girl is already 3 years old)!

In theory, menstruation should not occur during pregnancy, as physiologically these are two entirely different processes. Instead, early on, there might be implantation bleeding, which is typically shorter than a period. If bleeding does occur, it could indicate either a miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy.

Hello, what could this mean? My cycle is regular, I had unprotected sex, then my period started, but it was very strange—two days early and the flow was unusual. After my period, there was light pink discharge, very little, and a couple of days later, I vomited at work.

Good afternoon, girls, maybe someone can advise. Basically, my menstrual cycle is normally 34 days. On August 16th and 17th, I had unprotected sex, and everything was done inside me. My stomach immediately hurt, and my period started on Saturday. Usually, the first day of my period is painful, and then everything goes smoothly for exactly 4 days, but... Today is Monday, the seventh day after the intercourse, and I feel terribly nauseous, have the urge to vomit everything, I'm disgustingly sensitive to smells all of a sudden, and I'm so sleepy I could fall asleep standing up. I've never experienced this before. Could this be pregnancy?

Good evening. Oh girls, please tell me, I've felt pregnant from the very start. My breasts started to hurt, and when pressed, fluid comes from the nipples. My temperature was 37.2, 37.1 for 15 days after conception. I felt weak, wanted to sleep, was a bit nauseous, and had to go to the bathroom to urinate every hour. I took a test on the 15th day after unprotected sex, and the second line was barely visible. I was overjoyed because I really want a baby. And on the 16th day, my lower abdomen started to hurt and there was spotting, but when I went to the bathroom, there was blood like during a period. The abdominal pain has passed and doesn't hurt now. What is this, and why is it happening when there are still 4 days until my expected period? I'm crying because I wanted a baby so much.
