How to cure arthritis

Hello everyone. I want to know how to treat arthritis, maybe someone can suggest methods, techniques and remedies. I'd be grateful.

Unfortunately, osteoarthritis cannot be cured; it can only be temporarily slowed down. Do you have knee, hip, or shoulder osteoarthritis, and what degree is it?

Chondroitin + Glucosamine
Beef shank or fish aspic

Does anyone know, please advise. My husband has arthritis in his feet. The surgeon prescribed chondroitin+glucosamine. He had an X-ray, the doctor looked at it and said he might have to amputate, we'll decide after I review the tests. We have an appointment tomorrow. But today his foot has swollen so much, it's three times larger than a normal foot. It was already swollen, but today it's scary to look at, it's even bigger. My husband is lying down, not walking, completely weak. Is there anything we can do now, how can we reduce the swelling even a little?

Regarding glucosamine-chondroitin, I want to say this. Many doctors (including those I've visited and even Malysheva on her TV show) claim that it doesn't produce any noticeable results. That is, the effectiveness of this supplement isn't supported by clinical trials. It's kind of a placebo.

Personally, I took it. But my pain was so severe I would've drunk snake venom if it helped.

+ Ate a lot of aspic and jellied desserts
- Gnawed on boiled chicken feet (horrible!)
- Reduced salt intake
- Gave up ready-made sauces, sausages, and canned foods
- Lost weight
- Attended physical therapy
- Rubbed various ointments on my knees

As a result, I got back on my feet and can even walk now.

Guest 3: For pain relief, I found a compress with Dimexide very effective. Therapeutic clay, like bischofite, also helps well (though not as quickly). It's particularly good for the joints, but its effect is cumulative.

Thank you! I'll buy Dimexide and bischofite tomorrow. I read your posts to my husband, he says not to buy anything yet, they might say tomorrow that it needs to be amputated, he's afraid. The surgeon also said the joints are severely damaged.

How awful, I hadn't heard that osteoarthritis could lead to such consequences. Hang in there. Give your husband some painkillers. Glucosamine needs to be taken for several months to be of any help. In your case, it really isn't worth buying it for now.

Thank you, I'm giving him Ketonal injections. He also has diabetes; there were trophic ulcers on that foot, the ulcers were healed, and then osteoarthritis started. And the main thing is they won't admit him to the hospital, the treatment is useless, and he's taken antibiotics with no effect. It's getting worse every day. A neighbor came by, looked at him, and said, "They put people in coffins looking better than this." Tomorrow the doctor will review his tests and might say something more specific. I suspect he has something else, maybe gangrene has started...

Take Artru (or similar) for 6 months, then take a 3-month break, then start the course again. Start by taking 3 pills (not as written in the instructions, which is too little) for about a month, then 2, then 1. For the topical treatment, use Dimexide with hydrocortisone (I diluted Dimexide 1:1 and added an ampoule of hydrocortisone), apply it all to gauze or a sterile bandage, place it on the affected area, wrap it in plastic wrap, and leave it for 1 hour. Do this for 10 days. For physical therapy: magnets, laser, cryo, or ultrasound—do at least one of these for 10 days.

Unfortunately, a complete cure isn't possible, of course; it can only be managed. But if you lose excess weight, eat well, do physical therapy, take Mucosat injections and similar treatments, you can live quite normally.

What can I say: don't waste your time on chondroprotectors. I used gels and pills for a year hoping for improvement - but there was no result. Then I went to another doctor, and he prescribed me ViscoPlus. The medication isn't cheap, but at least it actually works.

I didn't understand the question 😅 These are injections with hyaluronic acid, injected into the joints. I was prescribed 4 injections over a month, then a year break. But it all depends on what the doctor prescribes. I got mine injected in May, the last time, and now I feel excellent, no pain at all.

And when will it completely cure osteoarthritis?

If I understood correctly, it's basically impossible to get rid of it completely. You need to be monitored by a doctor, they will track the changes, and if something happens they'll prescribe another course.

I can't help but agree! Chondroprotectants work really well for me too, especially when combined with physical therapy. I've heard about Mucosat but haven't tried it myself. My doctor says it's quite effective, but I feel like it's priced too low...

I also take Mukosat injections, it's an excellent chondroprotector, really helps. I've had an osteoarthritis diagnosis for a long time and had to try many things. And to this day – it's the best option. Since Soviet times, and even now, I can't find anything better.

Of all the treatment options, hyaluronic acid injections work best for me. Look into this method—it's very effective. It's a shame I can't post photos here, but if you search for "hyaluronic acid injections in the joint" online, you'll find many images showing how they affect the joint and what their mechanism of action is.

I get injections with ViscoPlus. Only three injections a year are needed; I complete the course and live comfortably all year. Additional measures include just monitoring my diet and weight, and of course, limiting physical activity. Yes, the treatment was prescribed for me after an MRI. I recommend not taking any action before getting tests and an MRI, as it's important to understand the condition of your joints and the degree of osteoarthritis. The number of injections depends on that. I have stage 2 osteoarthritis, and thanks to the injections, it hasn't progressed for four years now!

A comprehensive approach is crucial when it comes to treating joint issues. I take Mucosat in courses, follow a diet, and generally, if I need to work out, I wear supports. I feel quite fine overall.

Rory, that's the beauty of Mukosat, it's inexpensive, in my opinion. It's just been around since Soviet times, the packaging is plain, and they haven't invested millions in advertising. But the composition is excellent and it works superbly!

I also took chondroprotectors and gelatin from packets. But from my experience, I can say that by themselves they won't cure anything; you need to address the root cause. In my case, it was a medial patellar plica, a developmental feature of the knee joint. Until about age 30, they're quite elastic, but after that, they stiffen and start injuring the kneecap during movement, leading to the development of arthritis. Of course, you can't restore damaged cartilage, but in the early stages, during surgery, they smooth out the damaged areas, and afterward, the joint moves easily. You can enhance the surgery's effect with hyaluronic acid injections, which provide extra lubrication. Personally, I didn't get the injections because I recovered well without them. I bought a syringe of Fermathron Plus before the surgery, but now I think I definitely won't need it, so if anyone in Moscow needs it, I can sell it below the pharmacy price. Write to nata_krug@bk.ru.

The stage of osteoarthritis matters a lot. It's generally better not to start any treatment without a doctor—who knows how such self-treatment might end. But from experience, I can say that the optimal approach for almost ANY treatment is to keep it localized. This way, there are fewer side effects, and the treatment is more effective. This isn't my own idea but what my doctor said. I'm just passing on what I've learned, as they say. Specifically for osteoarthritis, injections work best for me personally. And they were prescribed by a doctor; I didn't come up with the idea of using them on my own.

What kind of injections? For osteoarthritis, I know that pills and ointments are mainly prescribed to everyone. At least, that's how my mother-in-law is being treated. They help occasionally, of course, but still, they reduce the pain a little.

If you're talking about my injections, I'm getting ViscoPlus, with hyaluronic acid. Actually, there are many drugs with similar effects, but there are also many differences between them... in terms of the number of injections, duration of effect, and effectiveness... As with everything, really.

Interesting, I need to read up and ask my mother-in-law, see if they offered her injections or not. So they're better than pills, it turns out?

It depends on the person, I guess. The effectiveness of injections is definitely higher. And injections have way fewer side effects than pills.

Got it. How many injections do you need for a course?

I get 3 injections. They last for a year. It depends on the joint condition. I know that with ViscoPlus they don't do more than 4 injections per course, because 3-4 injections are more than enough.

As you've already been told, it cannot be completely cured, but it is possible to slow down the progression of the disease and alleviate the condition. One option is to go to a rehabilitation center, for example, at the "Blagopoluchie" medical center in Monino (this is in the Moscow region). They accept patients with arthrosis, and it's quite good there; they provide comprehensive, tailored treatment.

Of course, you can't cure osteoarthritis outright. However, courses of Mucosat significantly slow down joint deterioration and, in my personal experience, effectively relieve pain. It makes a huge difference in comfort.

I also find mucosat very effective, the one from synthesis. Of course, it's important to remember both diet and proper exercise. But after a course of mucosat, I feel noticeably better.

Osteoarthritis is completely treatable! Modern medicine, after all, isn't standing still -) I lead a fairly active lifestyle: yoga and running in the mornings and evenings. After the first joint pains, my doctor prescribed arthrotherapy, and now my joint is perfectly fine.

I've had knee osteoarthritis for a long time, but it started seriously bothering me two years ago. I consulted a good orthopedic doctor who immediately suggested joint replacement surgery, saying there was no treatment available. However, a neurologist friend of mine recommended taking chondroprotectors—pills containing chondroitin and glucosamine. I bought various brands because I know there are many counterfeits out there. I took one in the morning and another in the evening for five months without interruption. I felt relief after two to three months and was overjoyed. But I didn't know that I should have repeated the course after three months and taken them for another three months. Essentially, chondroprotectors need to be taken twice a year for three months each time. In July, my condition worsened again. I went straight to the doctor, and without even looking at the scans, he insisted, "Only surgery." I told him that the pills had helped me two years ago, but he didn't believe me. Once again, I decided on my own to take chondroprotectors. Following advice from forum users, I started with the supplement Animal Flex (a sports nutrition product), but it made things worse. I realized that supplements are not a treatment. I will now take medications like Artra or Teraflex. I am doing exercises recommended by Dr. Evdokimenko and continue to believe that osteoarthritis can be treated without surgery. I advise everyone not to neglect their condition, take chondroprotectors twice a year, and visit sanatoriums.

I'd like to add to what was written above that there is a doctor named V.D. Gitt. He rejects treating arthrosis with medication and recommends only micro-movements. I haven't tried these movements myself; if anyone has done them, please share your results. Wishing everyone good health!

You're right, supplements aren't treatment. Try Dona, it's a really effective chondroprotector, I've been taking it myself for several years now. It absorbs well, and the sachet form is very convenient to take once a day.

Victoria, thank you so much for the advice! Arthrosis really is curable (though I'd only heard the opposite before you), I had arthrotherapy done at Yuri Konstantinovich Glazkov's clinic.

A nurse just came to our home to give my mom injections. We bought the medication ourselves; it's called Viscoplus. It's really amazing—my mom can walk and even squat, whereas before she had trouble even standing up. Even if we were to get the injections at a clinic, I would insist on buying the medication ourselves. That's because if the medication contains animal proteins, it could cause an allergic reaction. Viscoplus doesn't have any animal-derived proteins. Also, since there are many counterfeits, I would recommend buying only from trusted sources and asking for a certificate of compliance. Who knows how hospitals handle their purchases?

Hello! How many years have you been suffering from this disease? I just got this diagnosis yesterday. Don't know if the diagnosis is correct of course. My pain is wandering and in bones not just in joints and in muscles. But not severe. Hurts here for a minute, there for a minute.

My older sister has osteoarthritis in her knee. She was prescribed Salvisar ointment. It contains natural ingredients. She likes it. She says it doesn't burn or cause allergies.

I'll share my unpleasant experience. The doctor prescribed me to inject Farmatron into the joint... Foolishly, I trusted the doctor, followed his advice, and got several injections. Of course, I didn't do it myself; the doctor administered them. But I wasn't getting any better. I was browsing online and came across a video where another doctor explained the actual composition of this product. I was horrified. Now I understand why it didn't help me. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

I hope whoever visits this forum will definitely read my comment. Or perhaps the girl will get a notification if she still suffers from issues like osteoarthritis. My dad had it too back in the day and tried all sorts of remedies, eventually giving Salvisar ointment a shot. It's been over a year now, and it's such a relief that the excruciating pain is gone.

For osteoarthritis, I can recommend Salvisar ointment. The ointment quickly relieves pain, relaxes, and gently warms the area. It was the only thing that helped me.

There's no cure, but the deterioration can be halted. I inject ViscoPlus, and since it's a substitute for joint fluid, my joint no longer deteriorates. Well, it probably still does a bit, since it's a disease after all. But nevertheless, the deterioration has slowed down. And all these years, I've been living a normal life. Nothing hurts.
#53
There's no way to completely cure it. You can only slow down the joint deterioration. And even then, ointments and pills won't help—they'll just ruin your stomach. The most normal and effective treatment is through injections. I've been injecting ViscoPlus into my arthritic joint for years now, and it helps really well.
