What to cook that's …

What to cook that's new, tasty, and not boring

Girls, I'm so tired of everything. Every day I rack my brains trying to figure out what to cook that we haven't gotten sick of yet. Give me some suggestions. Just please no oven-baked dishes (my oven is broken).

Make a big, juicy, fresh hamburger with real ground meat and real bread. There are plenty of recipes online.

And without a stove... and I don't like cooking at all...
#3
Pear, it's easier to just go to McDonald's... :))) Who wants to bother!
#4
So what can you suggest when you're tired of EVERYTHING?

At least list what exactly you're tired of.

Just in case, I'd recommend making some sushi rolls, maybe they're not tiresome yet.

4. Listing:

- Buckwheat with onions and mushrooms

- Solyanka

- Various vegetable stews with and without meat

- All kinds of potato dishes

- Rice stewed with vegetables

- Navy-style pasta and pasta with cheese

Can't recall anything else for now.

Yes. Specifically interested in main courses.

meat, fish, seafood, mushrooms

you can make pasta with mushroom sauce or with seafood - it's very simple

fish can be steamed or lightly fried

sushi rolls, by the way, are also very easy to make

you can look for inspiration on cooking websites)

The thing is, my dear, a homemade burger is a poet's dream and has nothing to do with McDonald's )))

Author, you should try something "Asian"... maybe a curry with coconut milk.

Unfortunately, there's no steamer; the kitchen is extremely small, it's tiny. Please provide more details about the pasta with mushroom sauce and seafood.

My husband doesn't like rolls, I cook for him (I'm kind of on a diet myself).

Definitely stuffed peppers!!!!

8. Tell me about hamburgers??? Can dieters have them????

You're buying pasta. I love fettuccine, but of course, you can take any kind, like spaghetti. Boil it, stopping a bit short of full doneness. You can even cook it until half-done; it'll be healthier for those watching their weight.

Prepare the sauce—toss mushrooms or seafood into a pan, give them a quick fry, add milk that's been mixed with a bit of flour for thickness, and simmer until it thickens. Then, either transfer the pasta to the sauce and mix it all together, or serve the sauce over the pasta on the plate.

You can add all sorts of spices, fresh herbs, onions, and even garlic.

There are literally a million different sauces you can make—like a tomato sauce, and then load it up with cheese, eggs, herbs, or a Bolognese with ground meat... tons of options.

Well, a steamer is really useful for those trying to lose weight...

Maybe consider taking it off the shelf only when you're cooking? Otherwise, let it stay in the cupboard and not be in the way.

11. OOOOH, I'm drooling. And seafood—what exactly??? Would shrimp work??
12. The whole kitchen is packed, it's not a kitchen, it's a standing coffin. I can't afford a steamer or a multicooker. There's catastrophically no space!!!!:(((

So, are you trying to lose weight? Then, to ease your conscience, it's better to make trout (or another lean fish) with herbs in foil. It's usually done in the oven, but you can also pour water into a pan up to a quarter full and place the foil-wrapped fish in it. "Steam" it covered for the same amount of time. The result will be identical.
#15
13 - you can buy shrimp, you can buy a seafood cocktail. It's inexpensive, by the way.

Pear, 14 in foil and with water?

I didn't get it...
#17
You could also (at least for variety) try skipping side dishes like potatoes and pasta.

For a side dish, cucumbers, tomatoes, beans, and corn work well.

Ah!, 16. You wrap the fish in foil (greased with oil so the fish doesn't "stick") like a dumpling—with the "seam" on top—and place it in a frying pan (or a pot, depending on the size of the "package") filled a quarter full with water. The water will boil. The fish will cook in its own juices—inside the foil.

17. I'm losing weight according to Ginsburg's method. You can eat everything!!!, but daily fat intake must not exceed 30 grams. So, no potatoes or pasta scare me.

19 - but you can still diversify your diet.

Lasagna with some interesting filling.

Author, if you enjoy pasta, I can suggest three more classic options:
1) With tomatoes - for this, you need to simmer a sauce in advance using plenty of diced tomatoes, garlic, onions, and various spices. Look up recipes online; pizza sauces have a similar composition.
2) Salmon, cheese, and cream - this is a "rich" option. Lightly sauté pieces of fish, pour in cream, simmer, add grated cheese when the consistency is right, then toss in the pasta.
3) Canned tuna, garlic, and capers - sauté sliced garlic (don't skimp on the oil), add the rest, just a couple of minutes - and mix in the pasta.
In all cases, the key is not to overcook the pasta! It should taste slightly undercooked.

And I actually love sometimes just boiling some beets, buying good herring and light mayonnaise, black bread—and there it is, my happiness :)

And yesterday, I tried out a new, seemingly "extreme" chicken recipe (not without some apprehension, but it turned out successful). I coated one and a half kilograms of chicken thighs with chicken spices as usual (I removed the skin and trimmed the fat, but that's optional). In a thick-walled pot, I heated 3/4 cup of ketchup, added the prepared chicken pieces, poured in a cup of Coca-Cola, brought it to a boil again, covered it, reduced the heat, and after an hour and a half (on low heat), it turned into an unexpectedly tasty, juicy dish—chicken with a barbecue-like gravy. And the best part is, minimal effort and ingredients. It's perfect for when you're feeling lazy and don't want to fuss.

Phoenix, didn't your thighs turn into stew meat after an hour and a half?

On topic - slice chicken breast into thin strips, fry in any oil you prefer (corn, sesame, just refined) until all the liquid evaporates and you get a golden crust. Meanwhile, in another pan, toast sesame seeds. Drizzle the chicken with a small amount of soy sauce, add the toasted sesame seeds, mix, and fry for another couple of minutes. Eat with chopsticks. For sides - vegetables, rice, or whatever else you like, just not potatoes or pasta.

At 26, I initially reacted the same way to the recipe until I tried it out of curiosity. It does sound really weird, but the result is amazing. Michelin star (25), no, they didn't fall apart. Well, maybe I kept it for an hour, not an hour and a half. On a low flame. It shouldn't boil vigorously, just slightly.

27, the liver is fine (TTT). It's not something you cook every day. I have many recipes for chicken, including from this site. I often make "curry," which is just perfect for "liver."

What's that Coca-Cola for there?

It would be better to add a spoonful of honey during cooking if the goal is to add sweetness to the dish.

Here! By the way, I just remembered a little recipe for chicken in honey)))

Or with honey?
Феникс
#32
Of course, honey is much healthier and better to use than "coke." But it has different flavor "notes." Usually, for a "homemade" barbecue sauce, I use grape jelly (the one with the "Isabella" aroma) – half a cup per cup of ketchup, add a couple of teaspoons of dry mustard and a teaspoon of onion powder. Mix everything well over low heat until the jelly dissolves.

Don't you want some tabaka chicken??? It's super simple, and most importantly, quick......

Just wash the little chicken, clean it, and put it in the pan, then flip it over. Meanwhile, we make the sauce....

We mash 6 tomatoes (or blend them in a blender), sauté 300g of finely chopped mushrooms with onions, then add the tomato mixture, and finally, very finely minced garlic and herbs, simmer for another 5 minutes... The chicken is ready, place it on a plate and pour the sauce over it!!! Very tasty! I made it yesterday... The two of us ate it for dinner))

Author, there is a recipe, but it's extremely detrimental to the waistline. Fry chicken wings or thighs until golden brown, salt very moderately, though it's a matter of taste. In a jar of 30% fat sour cream, crush 6-7 cloves of garlic, mix, add a little water to thin the consistency of the sour cream, then pour the garlic sour cream over the frying chicken pieces. Cover with a lid, and in 5-7 minutes the dish is ready. Very tasty, but not conducive to weight management.

For the especially lazy: Place a small amount of butter (about half a matchbox worth) at the bottom of a pot. Lay chicken thighs on top, then add 2-3 onions sliced into rings or half-rings over them. Sprinkle with spices, herbs, etc. You can add vegetables (potatoes, carrots). Do not add a drop of water! Start with high heat (for about 5 minutes), then switch to very low heat and cook for 1.5 hours. The result is tender chicken in its own juices. You can add cream half an hour before it's done to create a creamy sauce.

Well, since we're on the topic of pasta, you can make pasta with "pesto" sauce (I've already described it on some thread). You take pine nuts (about 3-4 spoonfuls), grind them, finely chop a bunch of basil (you can use parsley), grind a couple of garlic cloves, and grate some Parmesan. Mix everything with olive oil, plus salt and pepper. Mix it with spaghetti, and grate more Parmesan on top. It's very tasty, though not too suitable for those on a diet, but you can make it for your husband. If he doesn't consider a meal complete without meat, you can separately fry some chicken breast cut into medium-sized pieces and then add it to the pasta.

So, what else to suggest... you can make a pureed soup very quickly from any vegetables and cream. For this, you'll need a blender.

Oh, it's a shame your oven isn't working. I would suggest you cook in clay pots. It's quick (quick in the sense that you hardly have to do anything yourself), tasty, and healthy)

Phoenix, thank you :) It's just that my husband loves chicken more than any other kind of meat, so I have to cook it in all sorts of variations :)

I won't claim to discover America, but I'll share this anyway. You boil chicken (drumsticks, wings, pieces, even a whole one). That's not important. The key is you end up with broth for the first course, into which you place in the bowl pieces of the chicken meat, freshly chopped parsley and dill, ground black pepper, and half a boiled egg. But the essential addition is croutons—bread fried in a pan with vegetable oil and then rubbed with garlic. Wow! How incredibly simple, delicious, and quick (you can boil the chicken and have the broth ready the day before), and at the same time, it's light on the stomach. Now for the second course: fry the remaining boiled chicken meat in vegetable oil, adding a generous amount of onion and black pepper to taste. For the side dish—whatever you like. But I'd prefer mashed potatoes with this chicken and onion on top. Pickles, or sauerkraut, or mushrooms... And then, it naturally calls for... That's right! Vodka or whiskey! The main thing is that everything is in moderation—both the food and the vodka. Who needs the pain after overeating or drinking too much alcohol???????—I think no one. "So, everything is proper and noble..."

Tonight I'm making chicken strips wrapped in smoked bacon (marinated them in soy sauce with spices for just 20-30 minutes), simple pasta, and garlic sauce (mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic, salt, pepper, spices). The sauce is really tasty and goes well with everything, including pasta.

I cut the chicken breast into pieces, marinated it in soy sauce, wrapped it in bacon, and fried it.
