Swelling during pregnancy

Good day!
I'm 24 weeks pregnant. Just a few days ago my shoes suddenly became tight, and for the last couple of days I can literally feel and see how my legs are swelling, with heaviness and unpleasant tingling in them. Today I couldn't even take two steps in my usual shoes - terrible discomfort. I weighed myself - I gained 1 kg in a week!!! I understand that swelling has caught up with me, but it seems a bit early(((
I called my doctor, she said - salt-free diet and that's it. If, she says, swelling has appeared, then they'll be with you until delivery. I feel uneasy. I read online that they can be quite dangerous. Who's been in a similar situation, what did you do to cope?
Thank you.

I'm currently at 35 weeks—only my fingers have swollen (can't wear rings). My doctor also told me that until I give birth, I'll be walking around with sausages instead of fingers.

Around the same stage of pregnancy, my ankles swelled so much that I couldn't even fasten my winter boots by the end of the workday, but that seems normal... Compression tights saved me—they kept my legs from swelling up by the end of the day. Now that it's summer, get yourself some compression socks and stay healthy! By the way, Venotex are the best.

Author, I had terrible swelling. I was put on a salt-free diet and practically forbidden to drink fluids (no more than 400 ml per day in total—that included tea, soup, and porridge). It didn't help. I went to give birth looking like a nightstand. As soon as I gave birth, the swelling disappeared instantly, and I barely recognized my own legs)) The child is healthy, and he's all grown up now.

I also had it during my first pregnancy: Canephron, lingonberry leaf tea, and a special diet. I was hospitalized twice for monitoring. Keep an eye on your blood pressure and protein in your urine. In my case, labor was induced at 38 weeks because the Doppler results were already poor. The swelling took another week to go down.

A salt-free diet is fantastic!!! It saved me. First, swelling appeared, then my blood pressure rose, and I started vomiting. When I stood up, I felt terrible and could only lie down. My mom said: stop eating salt. At first, I was skeptical. But literally within two days, all the swelling went down, and my blood pressure normalized. I was able to drive until the very end of my pregnancy. I should add, though, that I also avoided flour-based foods, sweets, and fried foods. Dried fruits with tea are also a good option, and my well-being was excellent!!!! So, for the sake of the baby and your health, it’s worth enduring a little.

Remove salt from your diet; you can buy lingonberry leaves in tea bags and brew them like tea. You may also consider magnesium treatments intravenously, through IV drips, and wear compression garments as prescribed by your doctor. Get your kidneys and blood vessels checked.

I gained almost 17 kg and had severe swelling. There's a cream for swelling—9 months. It's really great, cools the skin so pleasantly and absorbs quickly.

That's all well and good, but does it actually combat the swelling?

Of course, and it works super well. I applied it every evening and after a couple of weeks there was still some swelling, but it didn't cause such discomfort. I still use it now, it's a good cream. The 9 months brand isn't just for pregnant people

I couldn't stick to the diet)) During pregnancy, I ate everything in sight, even raising a cloud of dust. I also started swelling around week 30. Phytolysin helped me.

That's a shame. What are you going to do now, walk around like an elephant until you give birth? It was really hard for me with my weight of 90 kg. There's a special Phytolysin for pregnant women - Prenatal. It's based on cranberry extract. It relieves swelling quickly and is safe for the baby.

I thought you were talking about the paste. Didn't even know about the "pregnancy" medication.

My friend took Fitolysin and really liked it. It's not just for swelling, but also works as a prevention for infections and cystitis.

I'm taking Phytolysin Prenatal. It's GREAT that it contains natural herbs and cranberry, not just regular cranberry, but a special kind that's more effective at dealing with swelling.

My swelling started at 20 weeks. First, I gained +3 kg in 2 weeks, then another +2 kg in the next 2 weeks. I'm now at 26 weeks. I was prescribed Trinephron (an analog of Canephron) in capsules and Tivartin in syrup form. Trinephron: 2 capsules 3 times a day, and Tivartin: 5 mg 3 times a day. After about 3 days, trips to the bathroom became more frequent, and I started experiencing terrible sweating. We'll see what happens next.

Better to eat cranberries fresh or drink cranberry juice) I'm at 32 weeks. Also have swelling, but not too bad

During my first pregnancy, I didn't have any swelling at all—I was young. With my second, I gave birth at 34, and in the later stages, my legs were like barrels. My doctor allowed me to use Venolgon gel by Twins Tech. That's how I reduced the swelling and protected my legs from spider veins.

You don't need to eliminate salt completely, and secondly you should actually drink normally, about 1.5-2 liters, and eat 120 grams of protein per day.
