Good day. Please advise, I feel like I'm going crazy. My mom is 45 years old. In 2016, she had spotting instead of her period for 3 weeks. They sent her for a D&C, histology result was simple glandular hyperplasia. They prescribed Klaira for six months. Ultrasound showed no issues (only chronic endocervicitis). In May 2018, ultrasound was also normal for her age. In August, no period... in September it started, but on day 7 clots appeared, which didn't go away for 3 days (they prescribed Tranexamic acid). Sent for another D&C. Ultrasound only showed thickened endometrium and a cyst. They did the D&C, said they removed a decent-sized clot, looks like hyperplasia. Histology takes 21 days!!! We've read so many horror stories about atypical cells, I'm afraid it might be cancer.... Has anyone had a similar situation specifically with recurrent hyperplasia and good histology results after? We're praying for good histology... but how to survive these 20 days...
I think in such a case, they might even accelerate the onset of menopause medically to suppress the cycle and the pathological growth of the endometrium? Especially at 45, it can sometimes occur naturally (even though for most it happens a bit later, but at 45 it's quite acceptable). It shouldn't be cancer. However, hormones can easily start acting up from perimenopause. It seems to me this is much more like a problematic approach to menopause (and it can start differently for everyone) than cancer.

I'm 30. Even before pregnancy, I had hyperplasia and polyps. Three !!! D&C procedures. According to the tests, all are glandular. The gynecologist says nowadays this is very common among many. Don't worry.

Your words are music to God's ears... We really hope everything will be okay! We're already considering the option of removing the uterus (keeping the ovaries) to prevent further endometrial growth... If only the test results come back normal....

I was 23 years old (married) and was diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia. It manifested as extremely heavy periods with clots, and there was also suspicion of a uterine polyp. You can laugh (though my gynecologist didn’t laugh—she even approved), but I simply prayed for my healing and believed. During this time, I didn’t go to the hospital to confirm the polyp, and I didn’t undergo any treatment. After about 3 months, my periods became normal, not heavy, and after 8 months, I got pregnant on the first try. There is no endometriosis or polyps in my uterus. So, prayer and faith are still very much relevant.

And did you have any symptoms? Besides what was seen on the ultrasound?

I pray every day for everything to be okay... Even though I'm married, my mom is the closest person to me. And I worry about her health more than anyone else's.

I wish you never have to deal with these problems again. Because while waiting for test results, you can imagine all sorts of things, and the worst possible scenarios flash through your mind...
Everything will be fine, it's not such a terrible disease, just a hormonal imbalance. No need to clean if there are no polyps.

I'm 52, at 40 I had hyperplasia, polyps, and very heavy periods that lasted about 7 days. I had polyps removed about 6 times, every six months. I was treated for 2 years, mainly with pills. Don't worry, just make sure to go for check-ups every six months.

Thank you 🙏 Did they also send yours for histology? I'm really sorry for the question... but how did all this stop for you?

Even now, I get a cytology test every six months. I don’t remember exactly, but I think everything was fine after treatment, and I was taken off the register. I just realized that everything needs to be caught early—it’s easier to treat. Don’t worry, most likely the results will be good; hyperplasia is not cancer.

You need to find a competent doctor; otherwise, they will keep performing endless curettages that only provide temporary relief. Since 2014, I was stuck in this vicious cycle—my endometrium was 23 mm, and they also discovered a polyp. I underwent five D&Cs in two years. Eventually, I insisted on getting a referral to MONIIAG, where they performed a hysteroresectoscopy and removed the polyp. The histology results were normal, and I was then referred to a gynecologist-endocrinologist for consultation. Based on the histology, numerous tests, and ultrasounds, she identified the root cause of these issues—it turned out to be related to my thyroid. Since the surgery at MONIIAG, I’ve been living a normal, healthy life for two years (knock on wood), free from bleeding, and my cycle has been restored. I get ultrasounds every six months and continue to see an endocrinologist for follow-ups.

I also experienced something similar at 50 when menopause began—my periods became less frequent and lasted longer. I underwent three curettage procedures, and histology showed endometrial hyperplasia, which later progressed to recurrent hyperplasia without atypia. I was referred to an oncologist, who immediately recommended removal because all of this is considered precancerous and can quickly develop into a serious condition. Hormonal pills were no longer an option. So, I had everything removed and forgot about it. Of course, things are different when you're younger—you need to consider hormone replacement therapy.

The main thing for us is that the histology comes back good. Removal is not a problem... we don't need to have children, grandchildren will be here soon. I'm just afraid there won't be that damn atypia. We didn't let it slide, the first time Mom took hormones for six months, got checked every six months (ultrasound, smear). In May, the endometrium was normal! In October, she was supposed to go for a routine check-up again, but her period started and never ended. So this nonsense happened again ((( they suggest putting in an IUD if the tests come back normal. But I'm already suggesting Mom remove everything. Then she'll be at peace and so will I.

Don't be afraid and decide on the surgery, all 'commands' come from the brain and this will continue if the endometrium builds up and doesn't shrink during menstruation, then it's all useless, why tempt fate. When I was in surgery, there were many women like that, and they removed everything. Anyway, the ovaries have already dried up, and they're of zero use. If Mom is afraid of aging quickly, that's nonsense; if there's a loving family nearby, there will be courage and a desire to live /by the way, it didn't affect libido, because all that is in our brains./ I'm 59, it's been 7 years since the surgery, I've already forgotten all about it. My husband naturally supported me, we even went to a restaurant to celebrate my menopause. By the way, what kind of IUD could there be, how could a doctor suggest that to you. 'Remove it to hell, without waiting for peritonitis.' Good luck to your mom and health.

Hello, I'm 29 years old. I had a polyp removed in 2014 that bled between periods. Then in 2016, I had hyperplasia and polyposis, but there was no bleeding between periods—all histology results were normal. Polyps were found in the uterus and removed via hysteroscopy. Now, a polyp has been found on the cervix along with erosion. On Monday, the gynecologist accidentally tore it, and it started bleeding. By Saturday, it began flowing like a period. I rushed to the doctor on Saturday, who told me to take the hemostatic drug Ascorutin. Then on Sunday, I went to another gynecologist, who also advised taking a hemostatic drug but a different one—Tranexamic acid. I’m currently taking it, and the bleeding seems less heavy, but clots are still passing. When I asked the doctors why such bleeding started, they said it’s due to an inflammatory process. I don’t understand why such discharge began since the polyp is no longer in the uterus. I’ve taken tests and am waiting for the results. I don’t understand what’s causing this discharge. Two months ago, there was no polyp or erosion, and the smear test was perfect. I have one partner. An ultrasound on September 3rd showed everything was fine, only a follicle in the right ovary. Why is this happening? And I wanted to ask you: Did you have a hysteroscopy? Did it bleed the whole time with the polyps?

In case anyone is interested... I received the histology results: hyperplasia without atypia. However, the bleeding hasn't stopped, and the ultrasound shows something like a polyp or that the cleaning wasn't completed (it was done blindly, without a hysteroscope). After the cleaning, the clots stopped, but I'm still bleeding. I'm scheduled for hospitalization on October 1st, and the head of the department will examine me. He said they'll try to help.

Don't tremble with fear or live in anticipation of the analysis, because during a D&C (dilation and curettage) or hysteroscopy, the accuracy of testing for atypical cells is no more than 60%. In Russia, they perform "curettage" on everyone indiscriminately, although in many cases, not only D&C but even hysteroscopy (as a gentler method) is not indicated! Curettage is not performed in Israel or Germany, only here. Your mother needs an ultrasound, and it must be extremely precise and done with new equipment, and the ultrasound should be performed by an ultrasound specialist. If you're in Moscow, Dr. Dmitry Mikhailovich Lubnin can help you; in St. Petersburg, it's more difficult, but at the Almazov National Medical Research Center on Udel'naya, they perform highly precise ultrasounds, and a gynecologist examines you immediately afterward. The cost ranges around two and a half thousand rubles.

Hello, I am 40 years old and have endometrial hyperplasia, with 7 episodes of recurrent bleeding in a year. I have been fitted with a Mirena coil, but I am worried about cancer. Should I have my uterus removed?

It's very scary. Today's ultrasound showed a thickness of 10 mm. Endometrial hyperplasia. I'm 45 years old. Seeing the doctor on Tuesday. I'm also a hypochondriac. I have cancer phobia. There is no discharge. There was a delay of a month and a half. I took Duphaston. Where does this come from? I haven't had any abortions.

At that age, the uterus is removed because the risk of recurrence and cancer is very high. My colleague had the same situation, and to avoid further unfortunate consequences, she had her uterus removed, as it is the path to a peaceful life—knowing for sure that this won’t happen again, especially cancer. Besides, she wasn’t planning to have any more children.

I'm in the same situation.. I'm in Germany...they did a curettage in the CLINIC!! The endometrium was 15ml, removed under general anesthesia...they send you home the same day...it bled unreal...then they prescribed hormones...it's still spotting to this day, about 3 months now...2 doctors said they didn't remove the polyp...I'm going for a follow-up exam, most likely they'll do a hysteroscopy. I'm so tired of these procedures already...but I'm scared to have the surgery to remove the uterus—simply because I'm alone here with two kids, 7 and 11 years old. I have to go to work...get the kids to school, etc. I gave birth very late...back then there were still problems with progesterone...I carried the kids on Utrogestan. I had the youngest at 39. So don't think everything in Germany is so great)) It all depends on the doctor.

What do abortions have to do with it? It's genetic predisposition. One ultrasound technician also tried to sell me the idea that it's all because of abortions. Whose, I wonder.
