How long should I fry …

How long should I fry beef patties?

Hi! I made ground beef. The grind is closer to medium. How many minutes should I fry beef patties until done, so they don't turn out like 'shoe soles', not dry, but also not raw inside? #patties #beef #cookingtime

Until they are fried.

Fry until a crust forms, then simmer in a covered skillet for about 40 minutes.

There are many nuances when frying; the thinner the patties, the less time they need to cook. Generally, you should preheat the pan and fry the patties over moderate heat for 5-6 minutes on each side. Then, keep them on low heat with the lid on to ensure they are thoroughly cooked and remain juicy. In total, beef or pork patties should be fried for 25-30 minutes, including the steaming time. The juices from the patties should be clear, not pinkish.

About 8 minutes on each side.
If the outside is crusty but the inside is still raw, that means your heat is too high. And you can't fry patties on high heat.

What does simmer mean? Do I need to add water?

Thanks. This is already more specific and easier for me here.

So 8 minutes each side on low heat? Do I need to cover it with a lid?

I fry for a couple of minutes on each side, then simmer for 20 minutes on low heat.
And you don't flip it anymore after that?

I usually judge the doneness by eye. I cook them over low heat because I don't like them too well-done, and I flip them often to prevent burning. I also poke them from time to time to check that the juices run clear.

I first pan-fry the cutlets until they form a crust, then place them in a preheated oven for 15-30 minutes.

I prefer stewed over fried, especially since beef can be tougher. So I sear it first and then transfer it to a pot to stew briefly with a little water.

Yes, I understood clearly that the juice should be light-colored

That's way too much hassle with the oven

Thanks. Do they end up watery then?

I fry them over medium heat for about 5 minutes on each side, then cover with a lid and continue cooking covered, but still flipping them a couple of times.
You can press them lightly with a fork, and if the juice that comes out is light in color, they're done.
You can turn off the heat and let them finish cooking under the lid.

By the way, if you're really struggling with cooking, you can buy a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of meat or patties.

No. I don't add water, because I grate onion on a coarse grater into the mince, it gives a lot of juice. The patties turn out very juicy

What does simmer mean? Do I need to add water?
The juice will come out from the patties itself
if it gets too dry you can add a little water to the bottom

First on medium heat and don't cover with the lid. And then, when you flip the patties to the other side and lightly fry them, then on low heat and with the lid closed.

I usually check by seeing if the juice from the patty runs clear without any pink tint, then they're done.

После 40 минут жарки тушить придётся огнетушителем. 😱
