Please help with advice! Gave birth 5 weeks ago, second child. Weight before pregnancy was 58-59 kg with a height of 168. Gained about 15 kg during pregnancy, came home weighing 69, and in five weeks only lost 2 kg, even though I don't indulge in any junk food, specifically bought a steamer, meat and vegetables steamed, I can only allow myself tea with something sweet and sometimes bread with cheese. But the weight just won't budge, even though I know that you lose weight while breastfeeding. Physical exercise, no opportunity to do it at the moment, as I have two small children, no help so I don't have time. Those who lost weight while breastfeeding, please respond! How did you eat? What did you do?
Not everyone loses weight while breastfeeding. I started gaining weight two months after giving birth. I began losing weight when I stopped breastfeeding, but I still have the last 5 kg to lose, and they're proving difficult to shed.

Well, who knows, I left the maternity hospital with an extra 12 kg, and they went away on their own within a year—I was constantly on the move, eating on the go. Whenever I fed the baby, I felt hungry; it seemed to take everything from me. I didn’t go on a diet because the baby also needs to get vitamins—where will they come from if you’re only eating buckwheat? My advice is to wait a bit, let your body get used to your new state.

I didn't weigh myself until my baby was about 6 months old, and then it turned out I was 42 kg. Before pregnancy, I was 49 kg, having gained 8 kg. The baby is such a huge physical and emotional burden that, honestly, I don't know how I haven't wasted away. I breastfed on demand, and my appetite hasn't been particularly strong since the delay started; I eat 5-7 times a day, about 100 grams each time.

By the way, not everyone loses weight while breastfeeding.
++++++++++ In fact, the majority actually gain weight during this time, and quite a bit. Because, simply put, most women don't produce enough milk with just a 'healthy diet'. Roughly speaking, they have to eat a lot to sustain lactation. There are exceptions, of course, where genetically, lactation is very high, metabolism is fast, and the body type is asthenic. Yes, those women do lose weight.

You need to give up outside help (grandparents, husband). When I gave birth to my eldest, I was on my own all day. My husband was at work, no help from him. After two months, I was slim and energetic, as if I hadn't given birth at all.

I've never been thin before (157cm/49kg), so my metabolism is average. When I was breastfeeding, I had flare-ups of health issues, sometimes didn't eat for several days, but still had milk—the key is to drink. With buckwheat and meat, you won't gain weight and will have plenty of milk, for what it's worth regarding proper nutrition.
Don't throw slippers at me for my advice. I'm just sharing my personal experience. After giving birth, I was 52 kg. While breastfeeding, I ballooned to 59 kg in a few months (for me, that's a lot). It happened precisely because I had no help at all—relatives were far away, my husband was at work from morning till night. The baby was fussy and wouldn't let me do anything. I stress-ate heavily. But it couldn't have been any other way because it was really tough. When I stopped breastfeeding at 11 months, I weighed about 57 kg. Then, little by little, about a kilogram a month. Now I'm 49 kg. So, author, if you're going through a similarly tough time right now, just honestly DON'T WORRY about it for now. You're already dealing with a lot of stress—don't add more to your plate. You'll definitely lose weight when things get easier.

Well, not everyone loses weight while breastfeeding. I only started losing weight when I stopped breastfeeding, and I breastfed until my child was two years old. You're still very early in the process, so don't stress yourself out. Try to sleep and rest as much as you can.

I lost weight quickly. The baby is restless, no nannies or grandmothers to help, no one to lend a hand. Fifth floor with NO LIFT))) I was hauling the pram up and down two or three times a day, to the shops, to the clinic, and the housing office. Cleaning the flat, cooking meals... I didn't even have time to eat myself, so within six months, I weighed less than before pregnancy.

Active walks, pushing the pram—that's what saved me back in the day. It's definitely not the time for diets now.

Under no circumstances, Author, should you intentionally lose weight! It's contraindicated during breastfeeding. If you want to ensure your baby's lifelong health and, consequently, spare yourself the troubles of a constantly ill child - endure it. It's just a little over a year! It's absolutely forbidden to deliberately slim down while breastfeeding. However, simply eating healthily and not overindulging in fatty and starchy foods is acceptable. There's no need for any sports, gymnastics, or any extra physical exertion either, as all the "body waste" produced during such activities enters the milk. Look at how animals behave during this period. Their instincts for survival and preserving their offspring are more developed than in humans. Learn from them - at least during this time. Later, when the milk supply ends, you'll have plenty of opportunities to lose weight a hundred times over! :)

One should always engage in sports. It's the key to normal well-being. However, during breastfeeding, it shouldn't be overly exhausting sports - Pilates, yoga, aqua aerobics, swimming are suitable.

I lost 30 kg in three months while breastfeeding. In the morning, I had a large portion of oatmeal with milk and butter—it helps produce plenty of milk for the baby. But no salt!!! You can add honey. For lunch, a piece of lean meat—300–400 grams, without salt or spices. I also allowed myself two bananas, one green apple, and a slice of wholemeal bread each day. With this diet, you’ll lose weight quickly, and the baby will get everything they need. And forget about cheese sandwiches.

Oh, how lovely it is to read your comment. A very similar situation: I've started going to the gym and I'm trying to limit my food intake. In vain. An extra 6-7 kg. My child is almost 11 months old. We'll wait a bit, but thank you anyway. There is hope!!

I gained 12 kg during breastfeeding (my baby is now 11 months old). Plus 10 kg during pregnancy. That's a total of 22 kg 😖😖😖 It's really tough now. When I tried to eat less, my milk supply decreased (((( I'm 172 cm tall, my current weight is 87 kg, and it used to be 65 kg.

Before giving birth, I was 172 cm tall and weighed 57 kg. During pregnancy, I gained 23 kg. After giving birth, I lost 10 kg, and that was it. Now my child is one year old, and I am exclusively breastfeeding. If I don't eat all day, I hardly have any milk in the evening. But at a weight of 70 kg, it's really tough both physically and mentally. I don't know what to do anymore.

During my first pregnancy and after, I didn't gain any weight—I was as thin as a reed. During the second pregnancy, I didn't gain any either, but while breastfeeding, I just ballooned—and no one helps me with the kids. I dream of losing weight, but I won't until I finish breastfeeding, as I only know how to lose weight drastically.

I wanted to share my story. At a height of 1.64m, I weighed 52-55kg before marriage. I got married, immediately became pregnant, and that's when it all started. I ate like a hippo, and the result was 84.8kg on the scales during labour at the maternity hospital. Can you believe it... I gave birth quickly, without any tears and without prolonged suffering. I conveniently forgot the pain of childbirth and came home with a 3,160g baby in a blanket and 76kg still on me. After 5 days, I was 75kg. After 7 days, 73kg. And the scales stuck at 73kg for about 2 months, and then I realised this couldn't go on.
I reviewed my diet and cut out a kilogram of biscuits with 2 litres of tea and cream. Yes, you read that right—exactly that: a kilogram of biscuits and tea with milk, which we were used to snacking on and drinking around the clock. The result after a week: -5kg. The scales showed 68kg. That weight held for another 2 months. Then I decided to cut out pasta and all the junk, sticking to proper nutrition, reducing portion sizes, eating more frequently, and keeping a food diary. I started doing Jillian Michaels' "30 Day Shred." I walk with my son for at least an hour a day. And I walk up and down the stairs to the 5th floor five times a day, all of this daily. Yes, I'm human too, and I give myself breaks. Sometimes they last 1-3 days. But then it's back on track. And ta-daaaa! In a month, I reached 60kg. But the last 5kg just won't budge. My weight is currently stuck. Now I'm thinking of adding a fasting day.
By the way, girls, breastfeeding is going perfectly. My son is exclusively breastfed. He's 5 months old and doesn't even drink water. He weighs 8kg and is 69cm tall, which is really good for a 5-month-old (touch wood), but there's still more to go. I drink 2-4 litres of water a day and drink black tea. Sometimes I eat a lot of bread, but on those days, I just don't lose weight. Also, going from 68kg to 63kg was helped by the Bormental diet. I watched their shows and ate as they recommended. But I only lasted 3-4 days. The result: a few kilograms lost. Yes, you lose weight quickly on it, but I almost died. So I decided to take it slow but steady.

After giving birth, I lost 13 kg in two weeks, and after two months, I began eating everything and now weigh 54-55 kg. I want to lose weight, but I won't go on any diets until I finish breastfeeding...

Before pregnancy, I weighed 54-56 kg (height 162 cm), and by the end of pregnancy, I was 80 kg. After giving birth, I didn't step on the scales for three weeks (I was in the hospital with the baby). When I weighed myself, it was 65 kg, and after about a month and a half, it was 60 kg. I didn't deny myself anything—I ate tons of hazelnuts and walnuts, drank tea, and so on. It's just that when there's no one to help, you don't even know how to sit down for a meal. There were times when I ate only once a day, but I ate very heartily. Plus, breastfeeding. I think it's about hormones—some people lose weight while breastfeeding, while others gain. If you were slim before giving birth and are breastfeeding along with physical activity, the weight will come off on its own. Just focus on feeding your baby calmly; that's the most important thing now!

Oh girls 😑, I've got the same problem(( I gained 17 kg during pregnancy 😬, at 172 cm tall, I weighed 65 kg before pregnancy, and after giving birth, I only lost 8 😶. Now I weigh 74 kg, and I seem thin to myself without a belly 😇, but I couldn't fit into my old jeans. I eat porridge, soups, and have dinner no later than 6-7. The baby is fussy, and I eat on the go with him, but due to lactation issues, I have to drink tea with condensed milk 😐 about 15 times a day... I want to get back to my old shape without harming the baby 😓.
I gave birth two and a half months ago. I have no help either, my husband is constantly at work plus there's the eldest daughter, but there's no sign of weight loss yet.

During my pregnancy, I gained 25kg; before pregnancy, I weighed 61kg at a height of 160cm. Now I'm 65kg, having lost 20kg. I want to lose another 5kg. I am breastfeeding, eat everything but in small portions, and don't eat after 6 PM. The weight is coming off very slowly—only 1kg per month. How can I lose it quickly? Can anyone suggest a diet I can follow while breastfeeding? I want to lose 5kg in two weeks.

Before pregnancy, I weighed 56 kg at a height of 173 cm and gained 16 kg. Now, my baby is 8 months old, and I weigh 54 kg. I started going to the gym a month after giving birth and got back into shape quite quickly. In my case, the workouts didn't affect breastfeeding at all. Plus, in the first few months, my son had constant colic and various rashes, so I practically had to survive on just buckwheat and courgettes... and as treats, I had cottage cheese with banana and baked apples☺. Now, I eat everything while sticking to healthy eating principles. I also eat sweets, preferably homemade and in the first half of the day, and I work out 3-4 times a week.

Please note that during weight loss, toxins are released. They are stored in fat to prevent harm to the body. That's why when people lose weight, they often detoxify their body as well. And this is precisely why losing weight while breastfeeding is not advisable. All these toxins will conveniently transfer into the milk and, with it, to your baby.
Be patient for a year and maintain a healthy lifestyle for now. Afterwards, you can lose the weight calmly. It's better to wait a year than to struggle with a sick child for a lifetime.

I gave birth two months ago, gained 25 kilos during pregnancy, and have already lost 18. I'm trying to eat small portions frequently, mainly vegetables and protein foods, but I do allow myself some baked goods occasionally. You can't have all sorts of unhealthy things while breastfeeding, but I exercise because I know I'll never lose weight without it. Overall, I have 7 kilos left to lose, and I think I can manage it in a month or a month and a half.

Before pregnancy, I weighed 63 kg at a height of 170 cm. During pregnancy, I only gained 6 kg. My daughter was born weighing 3800 grams. Now, I eat more, more frequently, and more calorifically than during pregnancy: milk-based porridge, chicken soup, unlimited dairy products, cheese, bran bread, oatmeal biscuits... I want to breastfeed for at least a year. I drink a lot of green tea with milk. I now weigh 65 kg. I will lose weight—BUT only after I've finished breastfeeding the baby!!!

Good afternoon! Losing weight while breastfeeding is certainly not easy; the main thing is not to harm the baby. Be sure to consult with a paediatrician. A personalised diet was very helpful for me: I lost 8 kg in a month, then another 5, and I returned to my pre-pregnancy weight. Check out the diet planner on this website: http://vsediet.ru/ Good luck!

During my pregnancy, I gained 7 kg. I went from 63 to 70 kg. When I left the maternity hospital, I weighed 60 kg. I'm breastfeeding, and in the morning, I always have milk-based porridge (barley, corn, or oatmeal). Throughout the day, I have kefir, fat-free cottage cheese, baked fermented milk, ryazhenka, cheese, and green apples. I don't eat bread at all, nor any biscuits or tea with condensed milk. It's not that I'm restricting myself; I just don't fancy it. And there's hardly any time to eat! I have to manage to cook, do the laundry, and go for two walks! When would I have time to devour three-course meals? I take vitamins for breastfeeding mothers.

Second pregnancy: before pregnancy, I weighed 51 kg, gained 9 kg, and after giving birth, within about 10 days, I was back to 51 kg. But when my baby was 3 months old, I thought I wasn't producing enough milk, so in 2 months, I gained 5 kg! That's too much for me, and I keep eating and eating out of habit. If I try to stick to kefir for a day, the next day I eat even more :( And if the baby doesn't sleep well at night, I stress-eat too :( No one is around to help either, with no relatives nearby, but I'm still gaining weight :(((( I hope to maintain breastfeeding and not turn into an elephant. Although the extra kilos are putting me in a depressed state ;)
