If you're thinking …

If you're thinking about someone, it means they're thinking about you

Once someone told me that if you're thinking about someone, then they're thinking about you at that same time, but not just like you remembered them and forgot, but actually thinking about them. Do you think that's true?

В это действительно можно поверить и временами, это может 'греть душу'. На самом деле, скорее всего, этого не происходит, но совпадения такого рода бывают, особенно, если речь идёт о близких отношениях.

Of course, that's not true. If you constantly think about some star, for example, what then? They don't even know you exist.

That seems a bit questionable.

I don't think that's true; we think about many people, but they don't think about us.

What nonsense! What if the person doesn't know you at all? How is that supposed to work, in your opinion? This is kindergarten-level thinking.

The author probably means that if you remember a loved one for years, then they are also thinking about you—they haven't forgotten. I have that too, but he never loved me, so... he just slept with me sometimes, which makes me very doubtful.

I want to believe that such a thing is possible. Author, look up online about the ceramic bond between people.

And about that ceramic connection, please, go into more detail.

I believe this happens to people who share a strong emotional bond—whether it's love, hatred, deep resentment, and so on. Personally, I often find myself thinking about someone, and then that person calls me a few hours later or the next day.

It's funny, of course, but in my first or second year of university, I used to talk to this guy as a friend. He was handsome, from a good family. But he had a beautiful girlfriend at the time, who also studied at our university, so I never even thought he might be interested in me. I didn't understand why he was so eager to talk to me, and I tried to avoid him. For some reason, I felt back then that if I kept talking to him, I'd fall in love and he'd break my heart. :) Then he disappeared for about seven years. At some point, I remembered him and tried looking for him on social media a couple of times, but no luck. For some reason, I was worried about him and wondered if he had emigrated or not. And then, a couple of months later, he messaged me himself. After all those years! When I saw that message, I let out a nervous laugh. We still message each other occasionally now, but I still haven't worked up the courage to ask what I've been wondering about.

Damn it. I met this guy at one of my jobs, he was cool, like a George Clooney type, much older than me, by about 20 years. He kept hitting on me, but I wasn't interested at all. Even my colleagues started giving me a hard time, saying I was missing out on such an opportunity, and the director was fawning over him. Our office was moving from that rental to another place, and he happened to be renting the entire building. So, on the last day, the guy shoves his phone number into my hand and begs me to call him, looking right into my eyes, clearly head over heels. Well, I threw the number away immediately and forgot about him. Sometime later, I had a dream about him, like he was my destiny or something, and he was asking me for something. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I thought, well, since he asked me to call, I'll call, just to see. I found the number of the nightclub that opened in that building, called, and the secretaries gave me a hard time for a while—"who are you, why are you calling?" They finally connected me, I introduced myself, and he didn't even recognize me, of course. I hung up and realized it was all nonsense.
That's the story.

Well, in your case it's definitely nonsense, but for others it might not be. Any sensible girl would already figure out that if a man gives you his number instead of taking yours, you're not really that important to him. So we can draw conclusions about your smarts or lack thereof, rather))

You can really believe in this, and at times, it can 'warm the soul.' In reality, it probably doesn't happen, but such coincidences do occur, especially when it comes to close relationships.
I've had that happen, didn't know the person at all, and he didn't know me either, just kept running into him in different places, thought about him... And one evening I thought, 'enough thinking about him, if it's meant to be—we'll meet and talk, if not, then not' and somehow, the next day he found me on social media and wrote :)

The conversation is about someone you know, thinking isn't an option.

I think there is some kind of connection between people, but specifically those who have experienced close contact. There's a feeling sometimes, like someone is breathing down your neck.

Don't listen to anyone here, they are crushing our hopes.
Actually, I was just recently thinking about the person I love, and he even appeared in my dream. When I woke up, I saw a message from him. It's surprising twice over—it makes me believe in something like that, that people can think of each other at the same time.

You love now. But you'll mature with age, though the associations will stay with you forever. You'll settle on the option you like. Life will show you the way, but you'll find those ladies who suit your taste. Good luck, love, and joy to you! Life is beautiful. But never hurt the girls who love you!

Not nonsense. If you think about a person, but they can't help, then the original solution to the problem comes. Didn't you notice?

You loved and it warmed you. But have you ever thought to ask that person why things are this way? You're a coward in life, and there's no need to escalate the situation. Things aren't all that bad or lost for you: pull yourself together and...

This is not nonsense. It happens to me often. With close people, of course. My friend and I live in different cities, and sometimes I start thinking about her as if by accident—she just won't leave my mind—and a day or two later, she calls. The same thing has happened with my husband, more than once. People I need for some reason bump into me on the street by chance. This happens very often. And recently, there was a case that even surprised me. I started remembering a girl who is unpleasant to me because of a conflict situation about a month and a half ago. Thoughts about her kept popping into my head; I'd push them away, but they returned with remarkable persistence. I thought about her for a couple of days. On the third day, I received a letter from her with an apology. Which was extremely unexpected for me.

My sisters and I have this thing where we try not to think about our overly intrusive aunt. Because the moment we do, she shows up. Seriously, she’s annoyed the whole family. 😂😂😂

If we're talking about sudden thoughts about a person—you're busy with some task, humming a tune, and then bam—a thought about him or her pops up, it's quite possible that it's an emotional connection, like the one between close people who can feel each other even from a distance. But if you're constantly thinking about them, that's different! I experienced this during an argument: you're lying down watching a movie, a comedy, nothing hints at any faces or names, and then it's like a needle to the heart, and bam—their name flashes in your head, followed by sudden thoughts about the person who matters to you.
