Stepper - is it …

Stepper - is it nonsense or does it work?

Girls, who has a stepper? How do you like it? Is it even useful at all? I tried it, and it seems like there's almost no resistance or it's minimal, just like shifting from foot to foot. But I really want to have an exercise machine at home, however, due to lack of space, I can only count on a small stepper. So I'm wondering, is it worth it? Please answer, those of you who have experience with this?

Pops and hips work like a charm.

It's strange, my friend has a mini stepper, and I've tried using it a few times. Stepping on it is so tough! You really have to put in effort. After just a couple of minutes, my legs are trembling all over.

Author, I have a stepper. But you have to be careful with it. If you want to reduce your size—then it's not for you. On the contrary, it will bulk you up, muscles will grow, your legs will get huge. But skin firmness will improve, of course, cellulite will disappear. But not the size.

If you need a massive lower body (thighs, calves, glutes),
it works, but not quickly.

Personally, I don't need it (my lower body is already athletic). But the upper body...(((
That's why I go to Body Upper.

Thank you! No, I already have a massive lower body, alas. I want to slim it down. I thought about stepping on a stepper instead of lying or sitting while watching movies at home, for example. But judging by the reviews, the idea isn't great. I can only dream of having a treadmill or an elliptical at home in front of the TV :(

To effectively build your glute muscles, it's crucial to work on the step with the correct foot placement and body tilt! Otherwise, you won't see much effect on your butt. Well, and you need to increase the load if it feels too easy for you.

I recommend a stationary bike + anti-cellulite pants.
In them, you sweat A LOT, and it tones you up (with decent effort) And it trains your heart at the same time))

Honestly, my issue is a lack of cardio! Weather conditions are canceling my runs, so I'm rapidly gaining fat :( What can I come up with as an alternative to cardio?

Exercise bike.
Well, or walking up the stairs with a straight back, and carrying weights in your hands or on your back.

Thanks! It just so happened that I always thought the bike was the most useless machine. In gyms, I never even glanced at it, I loved the treadmill and ellipticals. Once I rented an apartment where there was an old bike, I only hopped on it a couple of times and that was more out of curiosity. But now, I realize that it would be better than nothing. However, it takes up a lot of space too, I just have nowhere to put it :( A stepper can be stored in a closet, but this contraption will always be in the way. Although, if I knew for sure that it would be effective, maybe it makes sense to get a smaller one, used, so I wouldn't feel bad about tossing it if it doesn't work out at all?

In the stairwell? Ew, to be honest. Our stairwell is like that :( Plus, there are balcony doors every other floor, you'd get tired of opening them. Honestly, ideally, I'd just work out on the floor with some video tutorial, but again, there's no space :( There's a big corner sofa and no room for cardio, only abs and stretching :( And with the stepper being stationary, that's why I was thinking about it...

My friend has a stepper. The fact that she's not losing weight is undeniable. Even though she claims she can work out on it for an hour. She watches TV shows nonstop. She's had it for a long time. As for muscle building, it's hard for me to evaluate her body. But she has cellulite, and that's a fact too.

You're upvoting like she discovered America :) Better to write something useful about the stepper's benefits and effectiveness. Is there any point? It's clear that if you eat less, you can lose weight without a stepper. Am I right that this is your recommendation? To hell with the stepper, is it better to replace the need for physical activity with fasting or dieting? I'll listen to your opinion.

Thank you, Tatiana! That's exactly why I'm thinking about a stepper :) It's clear that it's not a high-quality treadmill, but better than nothing. Otherwise, I've really let myself go in terms of movement after the holidays :( like a seal.

Yeah, I also hadn't exercised since autumn, but I've started again now. I've had it for a year already, and there's definitely an effect—it just requires consistency. I do side twists with small dumbbells and arm swings for extra load. My arms have noticeably toned up, and my love handles are gone. I do it for 30 minutes. Good luck to you! 😊

Author, I mean, this is just ridiculous! You'd get much more benefit from buying a regular jump rope. There are interval training sessions, the Tabata protocol—dig around online, you'll find plenty of effective exercises.

The hips are swaying very intensely, really widening them out. Meanwhile, the butt hasn't changed at all. I worked out for 40-45 minutes each day, gradually increasing to maximum and then decreasing at the end (changing every 5 minutes).

We bought a stepper on Avito. My husband and teenage daughter don't skip their workouts. It all depends on your interest. My family is happy with it.

Oh! I've been thinking about buying such an exercise machine too. But for me, the main thing is that it doesn't cause joint pain and doesn't take up much space at home.

On the stepper, also known as the Stairmaster, you have to walk correctly! I watch how some people walk on it—not only do their thighs get a workout, but their neck muscles too=))

Under no circumstances should your heels hang off. Your entire foot should be on the "pedal," and you should press through your heel smoothly, allowing your leg to go all the way down while engaging your glutes. Otherwise, half of the "athletes" walk on their toes, using their thigh muscles, and then wonder why their butt isn't getting rounder.[quote="Guest" message_id="4516514"]Girls, who has a stepper? The stepper is an excellent thing; I use it for an hour, plus I eat no more than 2,000 and no less than 1,200 kilocalories. I've lost 4 kg in a month, and you sweat really well on it—your face and arms slim down immediately!

I've been using a stepper for about a year, four times a week, for an hour each session. I can't say the results are amazing, but my joints have been hurting like crazy, I can't fall asleep without using some ointment, and I have no idea what to do. They say it's from the strain.

It's gonna spread!?!? Only if you're eating junk and not exercising. Muscles can grow with a calorie surplus, preferably from protein, otherwise it's just fat gain. ☝🏻

Hello, I also bought a stepper, how to exercise to not lose weight but build up my butt and legs? I eat all fatty foods to avoid losing weight, if I switch to proper nutrition I'm afraid I'll lose weight. What should I do?

Eat proteins and complex carbohydrates, not all fatty foods.

I encountered this with running. Warm-up before and after is a must, at least 3-4 minutes each. Only then did my joints stop hurting. Search online for "warm-up before running". Now I also bought a stepper, I've been using it for two weeks so far, I can't handle more than 15 minutes, my legs are burning.

About a year after giving birth, I bought [the product] and started working out. I drink 2 liters of water a day and eat moderately, though I occasionally treat myself to pastries. I exercise every other day. I've lost all the weight I gained during pregnancy, plus an extra three kilos. My legs were naturally thin to begin with, and my butt was almost flat. Now my legs have become more toned, looking even slimmer and more attractive. While my butt hasn't bulked up much, the cellulite is gone—it's smooth, firm, and even, meaning it has firmed up partially. I'm pleased with the results and recommend purchasing it.

To lose weight, you need to work out for at least 40 minutes to an hour a day. There won't be any effect from 20-25 minutes on any exercise machine, as fat burning starts at a heart rate of 140 and above. I have a stepper and I'm very pleased with it, and of course, the key to success is proper nutrition. Those who say that you gain weight from a stepper—learn to exercise correctly, otherwise, with any machine, your thighs and butt will grow wider along with everything else, or more precisely, subcutaneous fat—and you'll think it's muscle 😂.

3 hours a week? Might as well have done nothing! 70 minutes a day, then the results are fire.

I'm reading what's being written here and I'm amazed! Legs and lower body will get bulky from steppers 🤦‍♀️ Girls, for legs to become bulky and muscles to grow, they need to be fueled with proteins, combined with carbohydrates in specific amounts.
If you eat right and work out on a stepper, everything will tone up and excess fat will disappear. After all, 80% of the result depends on nutrition!
Ideally, the stepper should be rotational, so you can twist your torso in different directions.

Definitely buy it, you won't regret it. I've been using it for a month now and we've become friends, and it hasn't gotten boring at all. I use it every day for an hour in two sessions, my legs have toned up, my butt too. I feel much better, I only cut out flour-based foods from my diet, sweets only in the morning, and without even trying too hard I lost 5kg in a month! And that's even though I'm a total couch potato. With headphones and good music, some tasty, fresh, cool water nearby, and it's perfect. Overall, I'm super happy.

Nothing but excuses
If you really want to lose weight, you won't be grossed out - just get yourself together and go do it
My friend lost 10 kg during quarantine just using the stairs
He didn't even really adjust his diet much, just ran up and down the stairs for 40 minutes every day

And you don't necessarily need to do exercises lying down with lots of space

You can do star jumps, squats, lunges - even a narrow hallway would work for that
If you really wanted to

And the stepper is effective and your lower body will only get bulky if you start actively using weights

The stepper is specifically cardio exercise
Do you know how much athletes train, eat, use various supplements to grow muscle... and here people think muscles will just start growing from using a stepper... yeah right😏

And don't listen to anyone, just take action and work out
Set a goal and strive to achieve it, don't look for excuses

I work out on the stepper for 40 minutes every day :) I eat around 1500-1600 calories a day, and I'm really happy with the stepper.
