Is a stepper rubbish …

Is a stepper rubbish or does it work?

Girls, who's got a stepper? What's it like? Is it any good at all? I've tried it, and it seems like there's almost no resistance or it's minimal, just like shifting from foot to foot. But I really want to have an exercise machine at home, however, with no space, I can only count on a small stepper. So I'm wondering, is there any point? Please answer, anyone who's had this experience?

Works a treat for the glutes and hips.

It's odd, my friend has a mini stepper, and I've tried stepping on it a few times; it's really hard work! You have to put in a lot of effort there. After a couple of minutes, my legs are all shaking.

Author, I have a stepper. But you have to be careful with it. If you're looking to reduce volume, this isn't for you. On the contrary, it'll pump you up, muscles will grow, and you'll end up with huge legs. However, your skin tone will definitely improve, and cellulite will disappear. But not the volume.

If you need a massive lower body (thighs, calves, buttocks), it works, but not quickly.

Personally, I don't need it (already have a sporty lower body). But the upper body...(((
That's why I go to Body Upper.

Thank you! No, I already have a bulky lower half as it is :( I'd like to slim it down. I thought about stepping on a stepper instead of lying or sitting around while watching films at home, for example. But judging by the reviews, it's not a great idea. All I can do is dream about having a treadmill or an elliptical at home opposite the TV :(

To effectively work the glute muscles, it's crucial to use the step with proper foot placement and body tilt! Otherwise, the impact on your glutes will be minimal. And if it feels too easy, you need to increase the intensity.

I recommend an exercise bike + anti-cellulite trousers. In them, you sweat VERY well, and it slims you down (with a decent workout) and trains your heart at the same time))

Honestly, my problem is a lack of cardio! Weather conditions are cancelling my runs, so I'm piling on the pounds rapidly :( What can I come up with as an alternative to cardio?

Exercise bike. Well, or walking up the stairs, with a straight back, and carrying weights in your hands or on your back.

Up the stairs in the stairwell? Disgustingly, to be honest. We have such a stairwell :( And also doors to balconies every other floor, you'll get fed up with opening them. Generally, ideally it would be to just exercise on the floor following some video lesson, but again there's no space for that :( There's a large corner sofa and you can't do cardio properly, only abs and stretching :( and with a stationary stepper, so I was thinking about it...

My friend has a stepper. The fact that she isn't losing weight is undeniable. Although she says she can use it for an hour, watching a series non-stop. She's had it for a long time. As for muscle toning, I find it hard to judge her physique. But she does have cellulite, and that's also a fact.

Well, one stepper won't help you lose weight, you also need to eat less.

By all means, take them – it's better than lounging on the sofa. I've been using dumbbells too, and my legs have gotten stronger. I genuinely feel better, that's for sure.

Thank you, Tatiana! That's exactly why I'm thinking about a stepper :) It's clear that it's not a high-quality treadmill, but better than nothing. Otherwise, I've really let myself go in terms of exercise after the holidays :( like a seal.

Yeah, I haven't been doing it since autumn either, but I've started again now. I've had it for a year, and there's definitely an effect—it just needs consistency. I do side twists with dumbbells and arm swings; it's an extra workout. My arms have noticeably toned up, and my love handles have gone. I walk for 30 minutes. Good luck with yours! 😊

Author, well, this is just ridiculous! You'd get far more benefit from buying a regular jump rope. There are interval training sessions, the Tabata protocol—dig around online, and you'll find plenty of effective exercises.

It's really working the hips hard, making them spread out wide. And yet, the butt hasn't changed at all. I worked out for 40-45 minutes every day, increasing to the max and then decreasing at the end (changing every 5 minutes).

If your chest is size 1 or above, I wouldn't recommend using a skipping rope.

We bought an exercise stepper on Avito. My husband and teenage daughter don't skip their workouts. It all depends on your interest. My family is happy with it.

Oh, I've been considering buying such an exercise machine too. But for me, the main thing is that it doesn't cause joint pain and doesn't take up much space at home.

On the stepper, also known as the Stairmaster, you have to walk correctly! I watch how some people use it, and not only do their thighs get a workout, but their necks too=))

Under no circumstances should your heels hang off. The entire foot should be on the "pedal," and you press down with the heel smoothly, so the leg goes all the way down and you engage your glutes. Otherwise, half of the "athletes" walk on their toes, using their thigh muscles, and then wonder why their butt isn't getting rounder.[quote="Guest" message_id="4516514"]Girls, who has a stepper? How do you like it? Is it even effective? I tried it, and it seems like there's almost no load, or it's minimal, like just shifting from foot to foot. But I really want to have exercise equipment at home, though due to lack of space, I can only consider a small stepper. So, I'm wondering if it's worth it? Please reply, those of you who have experience with it?

Excellent piece of equipment, the stepper! I use it for an hour, plus I eat no more than 2,000 and no less than 1,200 kilocalories, and I've lost 4 kg in a month. You sweat a tonne on it, and your face and arms slim down straight away!

I've been using a stepper for about a year, four times a week for an hour each time. I can't say the results are brilliant, but my joints have started hurting awfully – I can't get to sleep without some cream, and I'm at a loss what to do. They say it's from the strain.

It'll go all over the place!?!? If you're just scoffing and not exercising. Muscles can bulk up with a calorie surplus, ideally from protein, or else it's just putting on fat ☝🏻

Hello, I've also bought a stepper, how should I exercise to not lose weight but to build up my bum and legs? I eat all fatty foods to avoid losing weight, if I switch to proper nutrition I'm afraid I'll slim down. What should I do?

Eat proteins and complex carbohydrates, not all fatty foods.

I encountered this with running – warm-up before and after is essential, at least 3-4 minutes each. Only then did my joints stop hurting. Search online for 'warm-up before running'. Now I've also bought a stepper, I've been using it for two weeks now, I can't manage more than 15 minutes, my legs are burning.

For about a year after giving birth, I've been exercising, drinking 2 litres of water a day, and eating moderately, though I occasionally treat myself to pastries. I work out every other day and have lost all the weight I gained during pregnancy, plus an extra three kilos. My legs were naturally slim to begin with, and my bottom was almost flat. Now, my legs have toned up and look even slimmer and more attractive, while my bottom hasn't bulked up but has firmed up—it's smooth, even, and cellulite-free, meaning it's partially toned as well. I'm pleased with the results and recommend giving it a try.

To lose weight, you need to train for at least 40 minutes to an hour a day. There's no effect from 20-25 minutes on any machine; fat burning starts at a heart rate of 140 and above. I have a stepper and I'm very pleased with it, and of course, the key to success is proper nutrition. Those who say that you get fat from a stepper—learn to exercise correctly, otherwise, all machines will make your thighs and bum, along with everything else, grow wider, or rather, subcutaneous fat—and you'll think it's muscle 😂

I'm reading what's being written here and I'm amazed! Legs and lower body from steppers will become massive 🤦‍♀️ Girls, for legs to be massive and muscles to grow, they need to be nourished with proteins, combined with carbohydrates in specific amounts.

If you eat properly and work out on a stepper, everything will tone up and excess fat will trim down. After all, 80% of the result depends on nutrition!

Ideally, the stepper should be a twist one, so you can turn your torso in different directions.

Definitely buy it, you won't regret it. I've been using it for a month now and I've really taken to it, it hasn't gotten boring at all. I use it every day for an hour in two sessions, my legs have toned up, my bum too. I feel much better. I've only cut out baked goods from my diet, sweets only in the morning, and without putting in too much effort, I've lost 5kg in a month! And that's saying something because I'm a bit of a couch potato. With headphones and good music, and some tasty, fresh, cool water nearby, it's brilliant. Overall, I'm as happy as Larry.

I work out on the stepper for 40 minutes every day. I eat around 1500-1600 calories a day, and I'm very pleased with the stepper.
